Evolve Bar at the Grand Geneva Resort

We met family at Grand Geneva's lobby bar over the weekend before heading on the Trolley of Lights tour. The bar was very busy, which was expected for a Saturday afternoon during the holidays. I patiently waited in line for a good 20 minutes and when it was finally my turn, the bar tender made eye contact but then took the order of a male who had just approached the bar rudely between customers and when the bartender looked up at the scowl on my face, she said you're next. When she finally helped me, I ordered 3 glasses of wine, a beer and a soda. When she served the wine, they were in plastic cups and said sorry we ran out of glassware; for a place I'm paying $18/glass, you surely should've asked first before pouring into a plastic cup. I was not happy but she didn't seem to care; my card was on the bar already so she took it and away she went. I have been to Grand Geneva many times in the past, even worked there for a few years, and I expect a heck of a lot better. Very disappointing.

I enjoyed spending two days here at Grand Geneva. The Evolve Bar was my go to spot since I was traveling alone. Service was top notch! My food was always brought out quickly and well done. The drinks were all cold. The atmosphere was splendid. There was even a night they had a pianist performing. It was a fantastic getaway. I highly recommend!

I was here today for my friends birthday. Me and the rest of the group were really looking forward to the igloo experience. It started with once we got there at 5:00 for our 5:00 reservation they made us sit and wait. There was 2 groups behind us in line though and they didn't have to wait, they were sat right away. We ordered pretty much right away when we were sat, and the service was looking pretty promising I would like to say the food wasn't terrible, it was decent. However the menu was very limited with only about 8 food options. Didn't even have chicken tenders...! This is when the service started going downhill, we asked for water and it came about 20 minutes later. Side note the igloo was FREEZING AND THE HEATERS DID NOTHING. It didn't help that the waitresses kept leaving the door open too. We brought a cake too for my friends birthday and we asked for a lighter for the candles and the waitress said no? After we finished eating we were told that our "s'mores bar" dessert would come right away, which news flash... it didn't. (PS: we tried to cancel the s'mores bar before the fact and save $30, but they didn't acknowledge our request and gave it to us anyways). Once we got the s'mores bar, the lady told us we had 20 minutes left in the igloo and left us with an UNLIT FLAME. HOW DO WE MAKE SMORES WITH AN UNLIT FLAME. (I don't understand how we could light this but not the candles for my friends cake) It took us about 15 minutes to finally get a working flame, and once we did we had about 10 minutes left. The s'mores bar wasn't very good either, it was probably a 3/10. Overall our experience here wasn't great. Idk if I would come here again. My friends birthday= ruined :(

Had a bad experience at evolve Saturday evening.They had a $16 Cobb salad with blue cheese, chicken, egg and bacon and a $10 Caesar salad. I asked our server, Hannah, if they could just do a garden salad with lettuce and tomato and they did, but when I got the bill she had rung it up as the $16 Cobb! I said, I don't think it's fair to ring it up as the $16 dinner salad with four types of protein when I had asked for a lettuce and tomato salad- the $10 Caesar salad would have been appropriate as comparable. She got all snotty and said "it's the same thing- yours was just as big." I tried to politely explain a large plate of lettuce is not the same $$ as the one loaded with cheese, bacon, egg and chicken. She just slammed the check down after coming back from the side station and said, "I comped it," and walked away. I wasn't looking for a freebie, just a reasonable charge. She had a server, Alexandra, training with her. I thought it was unfortunate she was watching how not to treat a guest. We went over to Ristorante Brissago for a delicious dinner with awesome service with Dawn. Too bad because the vibe and view at Evolve were great.

I really like a lot about this place. I mean that. I respect what you're going for... Mitch is great. He's a talker, but great. But. And here's the but... no cheese curds? As a Wisconsophile, I would expect curds... as a minimum. The bar menu should list curds first. Caesar wrap? What am I, in Italy? I want the curds. Great selection, awesome music.I think I deserve a response... call Sysco (or Aramark) first thing, and let's get some curds up in this place.

As far as the bars go on Grand Geneva property, Evolve is tops. It's a bit further back than the main bar off the lobby and thus is less crowded and more intimate. In the evening they dim the lighting and raise the volume of the music, getting a bit more dancey at night. Apparently it's a full blown dance club at night. The DJ appeared to be an iPod hooked up to the speaker system.My friends and I enjoyed having a beer here around the fire. There are a lot of nice seating areas around the room but to be seated by the fireplace is tops! They have a decent beer selection with some good local brews - I had a Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewing.Service was pleasant, drink selection was decent, atmosphere is great, prices are a bit high but it's to be expected at a resort.

The bartenders here were nice enough on our recent visit, but ill prepared to make a decent drink. At a neighborhood bar, beer and wine skills are fine, but at a resort, one expects a higher caliber.Our group of 8 sat near the fireplace area, which is really nice. Two ladies sitting next to us brought their own bottle of wine from home and poured it into their water glasses. I found it odd that no one said anything. This brings me to the next point...Servers in the bar were practically non-existent. Like the bartenders, they really didn't know what they were doing. Simple tasks like clearing dirty plates, were done inefficiently. Ten trips back and forth, removing one plate at a time. It was almost comical.We waited 30 minutes for the server to actually take a drink and food order. It was as if she was surprised that we'd want to do that. SighBottom line - basic bar food served here, service mediocre, and if you want to bring your own booze, feel free.They need to invest in a bit of training at The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in the dining areas and lounges....

Great little bar off the path of historic lake Geneva. Definitely one of the more classy places in the area. Great place to grab a good whiskey, nice wine and a fantastic martini. They usually have a dj on the weekends which kicks the atmosphere up a bit. My favorite part is the patio out back where they have a fire pit active year round with plenty of seating making it enjoyable to sit around a fire in the cold months of January and February. I would highly recommend this place!

We went to Evolve last weekend and we're unimpressed with the Bartenders. He seemed preoccupied and not very friendly to his customers. We have been there before and have had much better service. I don't know if we will be back again.

I had a wonderful time here and Bruno was an awesome bartender! He delivered great customer service and did such a good job making my favorite drink!
