Everett's Liquor store sent all of their customers a message: They would be selling all of their allocated bourbon on Jan 15, 2022. They invited us to wait in line in order "to conduct the largest one-day sale of premium, highly allocated whiskies the Stateline has ever seen". They promised to release prices and quantities 24 hours before the event. To get clarification, I personally called the store, asking about the pricing ahead of time. The woman personally assured me that "they are very close to MSRP prices" and "we do not price gouge here". So, I canceled my Friday night plans, got together with multiple buddies to wait in line overnight. Some people had already been in line in the below-freezing temperatures for 18 hours when Everett's store released the true list:The full list is attached below. They listed certain bottles over 10x MSRP. A bottle with an MSRP of $49.99 was listed as $500. Each bottle was 3-10x the price that people who were waiting in line expected based on the conversation with the shop. While retailers have the right to charge whatever they would like, they certainly do not have the right to mislead their customers to wait in line for something that can be found cheaper somewhere else. This was misleading, falsely-advertised price gouging. Over 100 people have complained on their Facebook page, and the manager Matt has been nothing but rude leaving comments like this is somehow the fault of his customers.Price examples:Weller CYPB - MSRP $50 - Priced $499Caribou Crossing - MSRP $50 - Priced $149.99J Daniels Coy Hill - MSRP $70 - Priced $299.99Mister Sam - MSRP $250 - Priced $1,999.99

This is a great store that I was surprised to see so many unique wines and liquors. I love that they carry so much more than the typical wine aisle at Target I found two wines I have only read about and never saw in stores. The help was so kind as well. I travel to the area to visit my family and will be back. Quite impressed

I used to really look forward to running up to Everett's from Rockford. That was before the price gouging, name calling, social media silencing and overall poor behavior. The only good thing to come from Everett's showing their true colors is I won't waste any more money on subpar barrel picks in an attempt to support a local business.

Matt and MaryJo were amazing we drove in for something we knew they had in stock and they took great care of us. After my purchase we talked wine. I was looking for some CakeBread. They both went looking for it and I purchased another bottle. Great people will return.

Decent selection of craft beer, but we didn't find anything too unusual here. We came out of our way to stop here in hunt of new brews and left empty handed. Good wine and liquor selection available. If you're local, this place will fit the bill, if you're a travelling beer hunter from Illinois, I'd say skip this place.

AHHH Everett's I have so many fond memories of you. Especially stumbling in after four hours at the pitchers mound drunk off my ass buying a butt load of bottles and you still selling to me. I still shake my head in wonder over that. You know we Beloit College Students were your bread and butter. Well stocked with a wide selection of alcohol, beer and wines you are sure to find what you want and discover new buys as well. And their prices were nothing to scoff at either. I still think back to this store with longing when I go into liquor stores in TX and remember how $20 got me the big bottle of Jim Beam. If you have a fake ID i do not recommend using it here, they have a book with every id conceivable that lets them check it against yours to ensure what you got is legit, being close to a college like Beloit where just about everyone drinks its needed.

This is the place you go to for late night runs when you're alcohol stash is running low. Due to some weird WI law, they're not allowed to sell liquor after 9 so usually my friends and I used to beg one of our friends with a car to drive us to Everetts to stock up and liquor up the party! You have a wide selection of beers and standard fare of spirits. 99 bananas was always a fave and at the time (2000-2004), the cost was around $18.We also bought TGIF Mudslides (not recommended because my friends and I can't mix for Sh&t) and margarita mixes.Everett's never let us down - but then again we were all alcoholics at that time.

I lost 3 fake ID's here before it was time to actually grow up and turn 21. As I look back at my misguided youth, I can not help but laugh at why I chose the largest and most knowledgeable liquor store in the state line to do my purchasing. eh well, ya live, ya learn, and ya hope ya don't get herpes while your learning. That business will haunt you for awhile I hear. As far as selection goes, Everett's has the widest selection outside of Badger liquors further North in B-Town. Honest to god they have almost everything, but they pride themselves on their wine selection and it shows. Myself, I hate wine. It hurts my brain and my butthole intensely. If wine or any other libation is what you desire, stop at Everett's and they will supply you. p.s. call early for kegs or they will sell you partially warm ones with shit hole tappers. What else would you expect if you don't call ahead to reserve one.

Stopped in on our way up north to pick up some beer and ice. They have plenty of options not sure on the prices but seems like a pretty popular place in the area. Not sure I will ever get the opportunity to stop there again but I am sure if I am in the area I will stop in for all my alcohol needs.

This place price gouging. I try to shop local when I can. I'm ok with paying more when I shop local, but this place is out of control for their whiskey sell off event.
