Ernie's Wine Bar

awesome local establishment in cedarburg. from the exterior it looks like just another dive bar, but the inside is that & so much more. the simple bar feels with chocolates & nuts on the table for snacking, but so much more with a great wine list & a number of great liquor choices. dimly light, wood bar & white table cloths, but also a very approachable "anyone welcome" flair where you could just hunker in and play a game. we'll be back!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Biked the intraurban trail to Cedarburg and just looked for a place to grab some wine. Was so pleasantly surprised! It's about a half mile off of Main Street and so so cute. But what really makes this place 5 stars is the delicious wine selection (also had full bar), excellent prices, great service and free pistachios!!! We also played their Yahtzee and sat outside for a lovely early evening glass (okay, bottle) of wine. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Ernies serves fantastic drinks but to me is all about the people. Beginning with Ben. Take your time, wait if you must. This is a casual atmosphere where waives of great locals and regulars stop in for one or two and pass along to another set of locals at a different hour. Be open minded. Sit and get to know someone or spend time w your party. Ben mixes a great drink. Any you select.

Ernie's is our favorite bar in Ozaukee country. They have a great wine list as well as some really nice beers and spirits. The owner (also bartender) is knowledgeable, accommodating and very welcoming. There are always some complimentary snacks out and the building as well as the patio are beautiful. We love this place!

I have driven past this place a 100 times but never stopped , well we did the other night only to fine one of the best places around. The owner Ben is a great guy (Ernie has passed on and is in doggie heaven.) the small cozy place is well stocked with nice wine and beers. The bar is a vintage wooden back bar made by the celebrated Brunswick company and is neatly kept , I also want to say the main bar is also but has a restored wooden top on it that matches well. They put out nice things to snack on since there is no food prep. The bathrooms are small but CLEAN , one person at a time. I really don't see the problem here , actually it's perfect we all know if you washed your hands after going so you are not back at the bar digging in the snacks with your potty hands. This place is the best wine bar in Ozaukee County. If you like great wine, good people, and an excellent eye for ambiance, look no further.First time there and will definitely be back, they know exactly the vibe a wine bar needs and deliver.

BEWARE!!! Six of us stopped at this bar last night. We waited a while for drinks. Trying to make small talk, my sister complemented the owner on his bar. He got angry and turned vicious. His attitude continued to get worse. He was so belligerent that I walked out. Others were so shocked at his behavior they were shaking their heads in disbelief. He then kicked my sister out of the bar and then told my Mom to "get the f#*% out of his bar". She was just sitting there being quiet. My Mom was shocked! I can't believe he would talk to her like that after she said nothing. Please steer clear of this bar. Not a safe environment. He will never have to tell me to get the f#*% out of his bar because I will NEVER be back.

I don't typically write reviews due to service issues, but rude and aggressive behavior is not acceptable. We tried to visit after summer sounds and the bartender yelled at us for no reason before we could even place an order. His erratic behavior towards us is consistent with what other reviewers experienced. I suggest avoiding this place.

Had an extremely confusing and super unpleasant experience at Ernie's. Came in around 8 on a Saturday night with four people already at the bar but no bartender. After waiting for about ten minutes, a guy emerged from the back and said, "what do you want." We ordered drinks but he apparently didn't like the way that I tried to order a classic Old Fashioned. I was told "don't call it that," "don't make that face" and eventually was told to leave. I was genuinely shocked and left without saying a word. A completely unreasonable reaction from an old, grumpy jerk.

Recently had a very disturbing experience at Ernie's. I went in to order a drink, not sure what I did or said wrong to Ben, but was told I was ugly and to leave and never come back. We always make Ernie's one of our stops during strawberry festival and have never been treated like this. Later we talked to friends that had a similar experience with Ben that same day. They said they were called douchebags several times by Ben.
