Usually top notch everything here. I don't know if there has been a change in wait staff or managers or what but this past weekend I was far from impressed like I normally am. The waitress cut me off in the middle of ordering my drinks (super strange and rude). The mini waffles were cold and so was the syrup(it's normally warm when they bring it to the table). Lastly the "fresh" fruit side was looking not good. It looked like it was set out way in advance and definitely not fresh because they prepared it WAY too soon. The Bloody Mary just had a lemon slice in it. Idk what's going on here but if this happens again I'll be very disappointed because it was one of my favorite spots and I'll never come back. What's weird is it wasn't even that busy like it normally is.

Was brought here by some family members, and we really enjoyed ourselves. I got the spicy waffles and chicken with gravy. The waffle was loaded with jalapeños. I had to take a lot out. They could probably put half in and they would be delicious and spicy. The gravy was good, but needed a little more salt and pepper. The service was great! The portions are huge and definitely could be split between two pele. There are a few more things I would love to try because it's such a wide variety.

Went there for breakfast I asked the waitress Sam wanted to confirm no cheese on my skillet. She said that I did not tell her. I asked her if they can make it without cheese. She said yes but it was just about done and they don't change orders. So I said I have to eat it when I can't have cheese being lactose intolerant? I apologize that I did not tell her. She said well it's a waste of food and she will have to ask if they can change it. She came back & said they are willing to change it but they normally do not change orders like this. Then she goes back and started to yelling the lady never said to me no cheese. Making it well known out loud to where I can hear it. I just went back to where she was and told her do me a favor don't make another one at that point I don't want it anymore. I can hear her yell and make it a big deal. What happened to customer service? At that point I lost my appetite. I then talked to her manager Kelly. She said they are not a franchise restaurant and is a family owned business so Sam the waitress was correct they don't like to waste food. They don't change or correct orders due to this. I asked wow what happened to customer service? She said that is there policy. I said that is crazy. So if you go to Emily's Restaurant on Sheridan Rd make sure you order correctly because they will not correct or change your order for you. There is no customer care or service there. I will never go back

Came here spontaneously with my wife after a failed attempt to go to the dmv that ended up being closed.. anyways. My wife was so excited to show me this place and so we went for breakfast. I ordered the steak skillet with over waste eggs and a side of red velvet pancakes and my wife ordered chicken fried steak and waffle and a side of eggs. The skillet was delicious, the cheese was melted nicely and the steak cooked perfectly. And the red velvet pancakes were so good, probably the best I've ever had. My wife's waffle was also really good also! All the food was good and I was instantly in love with this place!! The perfect breakfast diner! The restaurant has such a warm welcoming vibe too! I can't wait to go back!

Came here because we're staying at the Illinois Beach Hotel and didn't want their breakfast.It was all good. I had the "health plate". Not because I wanted to be healthy. It just had everything I wanted that day. Cottage cheese, English muffin, 2 poached eggs and some fruit. Perfect and not heavy. Hubby had the special #3. It does not come with hash browns AND French toast. It's either or. His eggs were perfectly done and not greasy. Nothing had that icky greasy feeling. Just really good solid breakfast. The link sausage, though is not a tiny link. It comes with 2,if you order a side of it, but they are like hot dog sized so it's like having 4 regular links. The flavor was good. No fennel, which I like. Oh...and they leave the coffee carafe on the table. That sold me right off the bat. Service was fast and good. Pur waitress was perfect.We're going again tomorrow.

Food is amazing, BEST PANCAKES EVER!! Service with a smile and food comes to the table hot. I gets crowded but you can still hear your own conversation without shouting. Great for breakfast or lunch. Due to the sheridan road construction, best route is south on sheridan, or Lewis to York house east, then north to Emily's. You CANNOT get there on Wadsworth until NOVEMBER 2024 when road construction is complete. Don't miss this Gem for breakfast!
