I can only comment on the pie itself and not service since I purchased a Elsie Mae's cherry mini pie at Swans pumpkin farm for my son who let mom have a few bites :) I have never heard of Elsie Mae's but let me tell you, my son devoured the pie and after having a bite of his, I wish I would have bought my own. The pie was cooked beautifully and the cherries were so juicy and flavorful; this may be one of the best cherry pies I have ever tried. Hence, I had to see who made the pie on the mini box so I could purchase more. I can only attest in regards to the cherry pie but omg try it, sooooo good

We bought some mini pies from Elsie Mae's at the Naperville farmers market (surprised they come all the way down from Kenosha!) They were already sold out of a few of their varieties by the time we got there, so I went with the "Sunglasses Diva" (strawberry mango) and my parents got the blueberry peach. The verdict: the flavor of mine was ok (seemingly heavier on mango) though crust seemed a bit gummy. My mom said her crust was ok and she liked the struesel topping on theirs, but the peaches were rather hard, though the pie had good flavor.

The pies may be good but do not trust them for pre-orders. They made a big deal about a Mother's Day promotion with pickups at local farmers markets and despite happily taking our money, they had no pies for us. This is a real let down for Mother's Day - don't trust them when it matters, I guess.

Whenever I'm in Kenosha, I HAVE to stop at this cute little shop that always has a selection of pies and mini pies ($6) for sale. The pies themselves are delicious. The staff are super friendly. And parking is aplenty. It's pretty convenient to walk to if you're in the downtown Kenosha area, kind of near the edge of the main street. In addition to the pies, they also sell canned and jarred goods like lemonade mixer, pie filling, etc. I haven't tried those yet, but if the pies are any indication they are likely just as good!

You can't hardly beat Elsie Maes pies. They are very fresh with great tasty ingredients. We tried several berry types and of course rhubarb strawberry that reminds me of the homemade ones my Mom made some 60 years ago. Not too sweet nor too tart - just right. The dark chocolate pie was very rich and good again not too sweet which is what we like. The coconut cream pie was a little sweet for our palates otherwise great. The Apple and cherry are delicious again the perfect balance of fruit sweetness and pastry. Their pastry is terrific and very uniform in thickness taste and consistency. We tried several savory pies the Italian wedding the salmon bisque and fish chowder. All are excellent for a quick meal just make a salad and or vegetables. They just opened up into the space next door so a little interior things need to be finished but I'm sure they'll do that soon. And what great value of 4 pies for $20. Savory or desert. The place to go for a pie fix. Highly recommended.

I love this place. The pies (both sweet and savory) are 5+ stars, you really can't go wrong here, tons of variety in type, size, etc.But you need to understand that this is a mom and pop shop and set your expectations accordingly. I have now been to multiple events around town they have organized/managed, and they are never ready to go anywhere close to the scheduled time for this kind of stuff. Yesterday they were at a local brewery with a beer and pie pairing, and not only were they about 30 minutes late to start (for a 2 hour scheduled block), the menu of pies and matched beers which was just posted THAT MORNING had to be hastily reprinted by the brewery because they rolled in with 5 instead of 4 and different varieties than originally advertised, which impacted my wife more than me as she can't eat beef and now there were 2 beef pies in the mix. There's also the fact that they don't label their pie boxes when they box them up (always at the time you're buying/picking them up, never ready in advance), so you're left to guess on what they are later if you're buying multiple varieties. And then there was the holiday I purchased pies for last year where they didn't finish baking until the morning they were due to be picked up (no prior notice of this), so I had to wait a couple of hours for them to cool enough to be taken home and longer than that to be boxed and transported to their final destination. Fortunately I had the time available. In short, if you need pies with tight tolerances for time, seek elsewhere because you're flipping a coin. But if you're looking for the best pies available and have the time to accommodate the disorganization you may experience, you will find it hard to find better variety or quality anywhere.

I was so pleasantly surprised how good these pies are!!!They had a pop up in Chicago under 55 and I am so glad I got a pie!!!! Nom nom nom lolI got the wisconsin berry pie. The texture is amazing. there are berry pieces in the pie and it's not overly glutenous or gello-like. The freshness of the berries comes out through the aroma and flavor as well. The crust! omg the buttery flaky crust is amazing as well!!!! normally pies lose that flakyness on the crush once it's cold and become a hard shell. These pies retained their buttery flakyness and it does not have a soggy bottom! the pie comes out the tin in 1 piece. just amazing! Absolutely amazing!

Sampled these delicious pies (apple, lemon & blackberry-cherry). Can I just say that I am hoping that you guys return to the Forum 55 in Downtown Chicago real soon so I can try other flavors!! Out of the 3 the blackberry-cherry was number one on my list and I gave the lemon to someone just because my eyes was bigger than my stomach and they absolutely loved the lemon. So thank you and hope to see you expand or I'm going to have to drive all the way to Kenosha just for some pie :)

Swung by the stand this past Saturday while they were at the Division Street Farmer's Market. I'm not a huge pie person, but we picked up 2 (Strawberry Rhubarb + Salted Honey) of the small pies for a birthday we were attending. I have to say, I was really happy with these. Everyone really enjoyed trying them, and if I see them again at the farmers market, I'll definitely be picking up a few more. The massive selection of flavors they brought means I may be pie convert sooner than I imagined.
