El Beso Milwaukee - Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Was craving tacos and decided to try a new spot. Arrived during happy hour so HAD to try a Sangria which was delicious. Note food specials for happy hour are only available at the bar.They have nightly specials with tacos on Tuesday and Thursday (I believe) and burritos on Monday and Wednesday. But specials are for regular tacos and burritos. And I really wanted to try the quesa birrias tacos and I'm so glad I did they were delicious. I'll definitely be back for those again but not until I try the Elite steak tacos which also sound good.I give this place 5 stars because not only were the tacos delicious but the rice and beans were perfect too. The rice was fresh and delicious. And the beans had a ton of flavor. Service was fantastic too as my husband quickly clicked through the options when checking out and I noticed they had rewards. Since we'll definitely want to visit again our server has a manager come over and help get us signed up and our visit added to our account.

11AM-4PM is their lunch specials. I was very pleased with my dinner--pictured; MARIO'S MOLE ENCHILADAS (GF)$19...Mole poblano sauce, grilled chicken, crumbled queso fresco, chihuahua cheese, sour cream, red onion, avocado & sesame seeds. I left feeling satisfied & the service was very efficient and accommodated us as guests to ensure we were well taken care of while dining. I wouldn't advise the red sauce if you are sensitive to spices, the mole would be better suited for those tastes. My mom also noticed that the chicken is of the dark variety, and she prefers white meat chicken. Other than that, a little pricy but worth the visit, and the ambiance is also great w/ all the fun decor.

This is a great place! Great food. Great service. Good atmosphere. The food was top notch, not just your average Mexican restaurant.

Seven of us ate at the bar on Wednesday evening after a funeral reception at the Islamic Community Center. Two of us had the Wednesday night Burrito special ($9.95) and the portion was generous and worth every penny. Five others had a variety of items, all generous helpings and well-prepared. We all had several cocktails and beers. The bartender/waiter was the best!

We Ordered take away becaus the infants in our party are not restaurant ready. Unfortunately, when we picked up the order the hostess gave us one bag, indicating that everything was in the bag, but unbeknownst to me, two of our entrees were in a second bag. When we arrived home and discovered the discrepancy we called and everything was cheerfully rectified--but it did require driving back to get the rest of our order. Another small annoyance--the items were not labeled so we had to carefully examine each box to determine which entree was which. These are administrative problems which the management needs to address.As for the food--I liked it. The mole enchiladas were very tasty. The mole was rich with a hint of bitter cocoa. The slices of ripe avocado and onion on top added creaminess and texture. The requisite beans and rice were pedestrian but necessary accompaniments. Despite the mistakes in the order pickup process, the meal was fine and the problems were handled well. Even though our dinner was delayed by fifteen minutes or so, we were essentially satisfied and if I'm in the neighborhood again I'd order dinner from El Beso again.

I would say that this is the type of place you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant this size: massive portion sizes, great price, & great atmosphere.I went with the Burrito Bowl & it was great & closest to "light fare" you could get here. All the food at my table of 10 got great food. Food tasted amazing & liked that the Burrito Bowl was a good amount of chicken with large rice portion sizes.I think almost everyone needed a carry out box before they left. Also, you get free tortilla chips & salsa. They gave one bowl of tortilla chips for every 2 people at the table, which was far more than what they needed to

I've been here a few times. Service is always great. Food is pretty good. Ordered tacos el Beso with onions on the side and explained that they really like them up so I didn't want them on the tacos. But they showed up on the tacos. Some of the chicken was a bit dry and chewy but overall it was good. Portion was a decent size for being lunch priced (until 4 pm) with a couple dollars off. Happy hour occurs even on weekends in the bar. Specials on food and drinks 2:30 until 6 pm. Server was great. Nice environment. Pretty place. We could see the waterfall from our table.

I needed dinner before picking up a family member from the airport. I hadn't been to El Besos in years and decided to give it a try. The restaurant hasn't changed in over 9 years. It was later in the evening, so the staff was starting to clean up for close. Three of us were seated. Firstly, the service was excellent by the waitress. She was friendly and attentive. I didn't even have to ask for napkins. It was a Wednesday night or specials on the burrito, which were $9, and then beans and rice are an additional $4. The burrito itself was enough. The burrito was quite large, and I finished a little over half and saved the rest, so I wasn't going to burst my belly. One of my kids ordered the steak taco, which was also a large portion with three tacos, and my other who had kids chicken tenders also was a large portion. The chicken tenders each piece was large and the fries were a thicker cut. The food all had a good quality. The reason for the four stars is that it's not the most authentic or best Mexican food I ever had, but it is decent and excellent service. I also appreciate the fact that they don't charge you extra for spicier salsa. The final verdict is that I would go again if I am in the area.

Service is always quick and friendly. Authentic tacos with onions and cilantro are my go to item every time. Love this place and take out is great also!

This is by far the best Mexican food I have had in Milwaukee area. I got a raspberry margarita, with a chimichanga - rice and beans. My boyfriend got a burrito with rice and beans! And then we split the queso dip and it was probably our favorite! All of it was absolutely fantastic. The food was great, drinks were good, staff was fast and friendly! The inside of the restaurant is huge and they even have outdoor seating in the summer time! The atmosphere is a fun place! Definitely keep an eye on specials! They have specials everyday or the week on either burritos, tacos, etc and happy hour too! I highly recommend this place!!
