Edelweiss Cheese Shop

Stopped in town and decided to try the havarti cheese curds -- they were delicious. Took them home and put them in a frying pan, they crisped up but still held their shape...even better! Cute shop you should definitely stop by to see. The staff was also very kind.

I stopped here after breakfast before leaving town in hopes of finding some meat sticks on my quest to try all the different meat steak I can find.The place is small with mostly cheese and some meat offerings and next to no meat sticks with just two offerings, neither one appealing to me so I looked a little harder. YES YES they have venison summer sausage which I will take. I didn't try the cheese because I have enough cheese at home. The venison summer sausage looked and smelled good but how would it taste. The venison summer sausage was good but not the best that I have ever had and I liked it.Any one who visits New Glarus should definitely stop by and check them out.

I never found a shop by theEdelweiss name. But the one on the corner looked similar. I specifically wanted goat cheese. The shop literally had one when I asked what she knew about the cheese she said oh I don't know I haven't tried it. That was a fair answer. Gave it a three because the vibe for me seemed off.

Excellent cheese shop - yes, there are two cheese shops located across the street from each other in New Glarus and they're BOTH WORTH A STOP.Edelweiss had a variety of delicious spreads and samples - including the absolute squeakiest curds I've ever encountered - available, as well as meat and other products. We picked up the award-winning​ Black Pepper BellaVitano and a delightful Kraemer Wisconsin asiago artichoke cheese spread.

Awesome selection of cheeses, ordered a shipment that came within a couple business days, well packed and secured! Definitely quality cheeses for such an affordable cost!

Excellent cheese shop, polite staff. I only wish they had some food ready to eat. They have great outdoor seating, but I didn't see any crackers or bread and no plates or knives to cut an serve.We would have bought more from them if eating it was more convenient.

Staff was very helpful. Wide selection of cheese. Will go back to get more next time I'm in town.

Excellent selection of Wisconsin cheeses. Edelweiss cheeses as well many other artisan cheeses. I love the Hook's cow-goat-sheep cheese. Nice selection of Wisconsin beers as singles or six pack. And a few nice wines and crackers. Tables outside. Really nice, new addition for New Glarus.

Small specialty cheese store that has a good selection of beer as well all refrigerated. Found some New Glarus beers here that were sold out at the official brewery store. Free samples of cheese inside. Enthusiastic cashier/staffer. Outdoor seating. This is right in the beautiful New Glarus Village. Certainly worth a stroll through this area if you are in town visiting the brewery.
