This place is strictly for the Bacon Fanatic. An original 1920's smoked meat emporium that offers a variety of flavors with ample amounts of Hickory and Applewood infusion for your bacon eatin' pleasure. I'm talking 'crave' worthy. That being said, Dreymiller has a few quirks as well; a vintage small town butcher shop inevitably decides to empty the meat case of almost everything with the exception of bacon. The primary focus here is 'makin bacon'. The quantities are limited...the batches are small. However, this place makes me scratch my head with intrigue. Although the storefront has been remodeled and updated, it continues to project a strong yesteryear vibe. The original meat locker door remains intact and eerily demands your attention. I peeked inside. You just know there is more to the Dreymiller legend than just 'makin bacon'.On that note, "Ring the Dinner Bell"...This is bacon that will make your summertime BLT an absolute jaw-dropper.

A wonderful quiet little butcher shop with some of the best bacon you'll ever have. They have two kinds. Traditional, thick, smoky flavorful bacon. And Cinnamon Applewood Smoked Bacon. Need I say more? It's worth the drive -- and because it's smoked old school style, it keeps for three to six months without freezing. They also have other pork cuts and sausages which are amazing.

Artisan smoke house is the best way to describe D & K Inc. Extremely friendly owners and not shy about taking time to explain their products if it is your first trip. Once you walk into the store you are smacked in the face by the overpowering smoked wood aroma. There is a plethora to choose from, yet, what they are selling is all top notch. On this trip I took home Beer Bacon, Thuringer Sausage and Wieners. Both links were extremely full of smoked flavor. Be careful not to over cook the sausages when warming them. On my first try I roasted them and the casings were tough and the smoke flavor was way too intense for the kids. However, when I just sliced the sausage up cold and tried it cold it was delicious! From now on I will just give them a quick grill or toasting before serving. Now...saving the best for last *is* the bacon! I'm hooked! Imagine meaty bacon and smoked jerky sticks are fused together. A very unique flavor that I think will work excellently when I take another stab at making chocolate covered bacon. Also, their website is informative and should be checked out prior to heading to the store. Prices are quite pricey per pound but the care and quality that goes into their products is well worth it!
