This place is definitely worth the stop. Zero reason to eat fast food with this near by... quality sandwich and super friendly staff. You can tell everything is homemade and they truly care about the product they are serving their customers. I'm excited to come back and try all the other sandwiches on the menu.

Stopped by for a quick lunch while passing through. The place looked clean and well lit. Staff were friendly and helpful and helping me figure out which sub to get. It was my first time at the store.Ordered their half Italian sub sandwich, which they call the sergeant with everything. The sandwich was filled generously with cold, cuts, and tasted fresh and delicious.Bottom line, this place is a solid for sub sandwiches, and offers a good variety of alternative types of sub sandwiches, including hot sandwiches.Before I left, they asked me to spin the wheel of free stuff and I earned a free bowl of soup for my next visit. That was a nice touch for someone on their first time in the shop.

This is the best sub place I have ever been to. 10 x better than Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mike's, and 100 x better than Subway. If you are reading this, you have to try this place. Low prices, great service, and generous servings.

Extremely slow for an extremely average sandwich. I think I waited 20 minutes and there were at least 2 other people's orders screwed up. I think I'll just go to Jersey Mike's next time.

Don subs is absolutely phenomenal! They pack their sandwiches with meat, they run different specials every day, and the staff is so friendly... My absolute favorite place for a yummy sandwich in McHenry!!!

Last time I went there I felt that I paid too much for a sandwich. Soup was like canned that was heated on the microwave. I don't think I will be back anymore.

The owners and staff are excellent. The sandwiches( the Colonel and meatball sub) were outstanding. I hate to mention the price however in this economy, it is a little on the high side but for those few extra bucks, it's worth it to support a great local business. Plus, you'll have a superior meal!!

Food and service is amazing. The kernel is always my go to but my wife orders almost anything off the menu! The owner is super cool as well!

Came to don subs for the first time after seeing a post on Facebook. My fiancé and I got the kernel and Philly cheese steak. They were both delicious. I love the sauce and the seasonings! They are so generous with the amount of meat on the sandwich. Staff is very friendly too. We will be back again ! Thank you for a great experience!
