Family owned and operated. If you aren't from the area than you don't realize what this liquor store offers. If you are from this area or the one in West Allis, then you probably are spoiled with what they have to offer!I rarely go in and not find what I am looking for (except at times beers and sometimes wines). That's not a knock... what place provides you with any wine you want? What sets Discount Liquor apart is the knowledge experts in wines. They were voted as 50 best wine stores in America... you have a question, ask and you shall receive. Price is good on most, cheaper than some but the variety is unsurpassed... maybe besides Total Wines. If you can't find something talk to an employee and they will help you with ordering it or find a close replacement. I have been looking for Rombauer Zin and they made a suggestion to go with Truett-Hurst Zin and we agreed, it is a close match. I love how they divide the store and categorize sections and again, you will find it difficult to find a better value and service.

We were in Milwaukee for a bachelor party and we're in need of alcohol. This place was the best place. It's a bit outside of Milwaukee but for the prices it's well worth it. Had a great selection of alcohol and wasn't way over priced like some of the other businesses on the area. Purchased 5 bottle from them and had great experience with the folks working. They were very knowledgeable in answering our questions. Great place. Will have to visit again when back in Milwaukee

My poor girlfriend was fishing with me on the river and she really had to go to the bathroom I told her that there's a Pavilion right next to us. All the pavilions on the riverfront were closed and she couldn't P in the woods because there was two cops across the river looking at us and she felt very uncomfortable we finally made it to the car and we pull into discount liquor. She walks inside she was practically crying and the clerks at discount liquor could obviously see that she was in a lot of pain and discomfort and she asked to use the bathroom and they said they were out of order. I'm putting this out there because Covid is over and done with people need to start opening up their bathrooms and stop being completely inhumane about letting others use the bathroom! Unbelievable discount liquor you should be ashamed of yourself she ended up pissing herself in the car on the way home.Masks are not mandatory small businesses are open to the public they should make the restrooms available for us! We pay enough and property taxes around here where they should have no problem opening an extra bathroom for the public! You got a grocery store of alcohol to sell to every person in Waukesha and you don't even have a bathroom available for people that really have to go? Wow!

tl;dr Great selection, great prices, and helpful employees. What else could you ask for?Discount is a local business that has it all. Low-end to high, common to obscure, you'll find what you're looking for at Discount. On the off chance that they do not have what you are looking for, talk with an employee and they'll do their best to place an order for you, or find the closest match available.My wife loves to drink moscato d'asti, and I'm amazed they have more than one brand available. On top of that, it's priced well below the standard you'd find at Sam's/Costco.For craft beer, the selection is amazing. There is almost always a brewer there sampling their goods. There is an aisle dedicated to just Wisconsin craft. They stock some of the most in demand/toughest beers to find. They are simply on top of their game.We've also ordered a few kegs through Discount, and their terms are great (they'll even deliver). They'll refill certified Co2 tanks. They'll even put together a gift basket for you.If I were to nitpick, I wish they'd offer more of the craft beer as singles, but I know that can be out of their control. Also, the aisles can be a bit tight, but seriously, it's hard to find a real fault with Discount.

I used to make a booze run to Discount Liquors on the South Side of Milwaukee once a week when I was in my prime. Going back, this time to the one in Waukesha, is quite the exhilarating experience after moving to the alcohol phobic state of Utah.With great prices, a wide selection of well known brands, the DL is a great party source. It does lack the expensive, high end wine labels, but Discount Liquors has what most folks want. It is an iconic part of Wisconsin's identity and purposeful good cheer.

I visited Discount Liquor in Waukesha for the first time recently and was a little skeptical because the place is a little old and it can be challenging to find what you want but then I thought about it. It's a challenge because they have so many varieties of absolutely everything. The place is packed with hard-to-find stuff you can't get at your local liquor store. If you want a 6-pack of mass-produced beer, you can get it anywhere but if you want to try something different or just feel in awe of the immense selection, then Discount Liquor is a place for you. Their prices are either similar or lower than other liquor stores for the same product.I needed some advise on a specific craft beer and was helped by the beer manager. He knew exactly where to find it and also had some suggestions for me based on my taste. He was friendly, as were the ladies on the checkout registers. This place has definitely earned my patronage.

Great selection and location. Parking is easy. I found a nice bottle of Lagavulin to wet my whistle.

This place has the largest selection of beers I've ever seen! On top of that their prices are really good! You want more.... The owner Frank helped me load my purchase in my car!

Very disappointed to find the employees not wearing masks. Apparently they have a very low regard for the safety of their customers.You might want to try Sendiks, pic and save or worldwide wines for your liquor purchases if you want to reduce your risk of picking up COVID.

I went hoping to find a seasonal 3 Floyd's beer and found many others that I couldn't find anywhere else. There's a only a few liquor stores I'd go to for hard to find liquor and/or beers. This is one.
