I started hearing the buzz about Dia Bom when they moved into the old Heaven's Table stall at Crossroads. They had an intriguing menu but it took me a few times walking by before I checked them out. They have a creative Latin-Asian fusion theme. But after trying the food I think it really works.I have had the Karaage chicken rice bowl and the shisito pepper skewers with the togarashi rice. Both were balanced dishes with sometimes surprising flavors--like the sauce on the chicken bowl marrying the fried chicken with the pickled vegetable accompaniment, or the sort of avocado salsa adding brightness and richness to the peppers. I saw a lot of people ordering a couple small dishes as a meal. The food would be ideal for a lively group gathering too.Becoming one of my favorite tenants at Crossroads.

Great service but only okay food. I love both latin and asian flavors, but mixing the two caused the food to lack the flavor complexity of both cuisines. I got the special of the week which happened to be birria ramen and it was only okay. Decent sized bowl for the price but I was hoping for it to be better The location is in the crossroad collective which is a fun place to bring picky eaters. It has many options for food so everyone can find something they love. So maybe grab an appetizer here and give another stall a try too.

Finally had to opportunity to try Dia Bom! Love the concept of this place -- Latin & Asian fusion food is a combo you'd think wouldn't work well together, but the flavors of each cuisine are harmoniously intense and vibrant when merged. Dia Bom specializes in Kushiyaki, a Japanese term for grilled skewers. The menu is not by any means authentic or Japanese (it is a fusion place after all), but the menu items encompass popular Asian ingredients, like togarashi, red curry, pork belly. The menu items are more like appetizers, so it seems like the dishes are meant to be shared. Come with a friend so you can sample more from the menu without breaking the bank. I did not try the kushiyaki or baos (will have to come back one day!) but did try the dessert churro bao. Loved the sweet take on a normally savory dish! The bao was overall not bad, but I found it to be lacking something. I think a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or a condensed milk dipping sauce on the side would've really completed this dessert. The owner of Dia Bom is also the sweetest too!

I ordered the chicken yakatori and boy was I in heaven. For the price, I was expecting more food than the two skewers of chicken I received. I tried eating this in the car, my whole outfit I was wearing will never be the same. This is a very saucy meal, and I hope all of you learn from my mistake and eat this at a table. Also when you order pickup, make sure to read the instructions. I sat waiting for my food only to check twenty minutes later and it said pickup at the bar. I dreamed so much about this food that I went home and tried to remake it and it was just not the same. Dow bom does it best

Asian X Latino fusion restaurant. Pretty unique in Milwaukee! I appreciate the diversity that Dia Bom has brought to Milwaukee food scene. The menu is basically $6 - $11 for appetizer sized of food, so it could easily cost someone $18 - $27 to get full. I tried Churro Bao with Strawberries, Beer Braised Pork Belly and Jerk Chicken Bao. I really liked the pork belly that's crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It's a slightly heavy dish due to the fat from the pork belly, but the sauce on top balanced it out. It really reminded me of Cantonese-style roasted pork. The Jerk Chicken Bao - I liked the flavorful meat and the refreshing veggies and pineapple. But I am not 100% sure about putting them in Bao. To me, the flavors and texture didn't add up here. The Churro Bao w Strawberries idea worked though! Sweet, warm, flavorful. The Ube sauce on top was so good. I enjoyed them a lot!

Dia bom is a new vendor at the Crossroads Collective and WOW is it delishh! I go thr pork belly and chorizo bao. The pork belly is surprisingly filing, it looks like a few pieces but each on is packed with a flavor punch. The pork meat and fat melt together to create a very tasty concoction. The chorizo bao is flavorful and the pickled onions sealed the deal for me. Get you some Kushiyaki next time you're at the Collective, I'm surely going back for the sweet bao.

The most amazing food. I can't even describe how happy my taste buds felt leaving that place. The way their meat is cooked is amazing and OMG that rice dish! Fabulous.

I wasn't expecting the birria ramen to be bland, flavorless and not even a hint of salt (at least). It was a bowl of meat and chopped up thin noodles. I feel like for 50 dollars we were robbed out of a meal that should have been delicious. Comparing the photos of others who've ordered this dish, they either put no effort in letting us know they didn't have the ingredients to make our food or they just didn't care. The Bao was okay, but not a reason for me to come back.
