Desi Needs

2 stars for Desineeds, I can only speak on the restaurant portion as I did not visit the grocery section. Upon walking in, the available tables were all very dirty and littered with garbage from the patrons that ate there before. I had to move some trash myself and none were cleaned by any workers until we were half way through our meal. The food itself is extremely average on a scale of Indian food - go look at my Yelp reviews I go to a ton of Indian Restaurants. It was okay and edible, but oily (see pics), the curry is like water instead of thicker, creamy sauce like every other restaurant and doesn't have much spice to it. They charge extra for rice as well it's not included in the entrees. There are much better Indian Restaurants in the area, I don't recommend this place sadly.

Variety of products. Food I've been told is amazing. Haven't been able to try it though. Instead of going to little India (Devon) in chicago, I was able to check out a few store items here. Including cumin, chai, and other spices. Frozen section is varied and huge. Looking forward to trying more products.

Desineeds doesn't have everything this Desi needs, but it's got some of what I want. Pretty good selection of snacks, fair prices, spices are fresh. There's no real competition right around here. Sometimes I just have to have a bag of Haldiram's papad and a Limca.

I went to this lovely place today to get some chicken biryani and pick up a few Indian grocery items. The chicken biryani was absolutely delicious, and I got a ridiculous amount of food for the money - including raita! I was looking for a specific kind of snack mix (Deep Hot Mix) and they were out (it's coming tomorrow), but the nice lady behind the counter showed me some other types she thought I would like. I will definitely be back to try the shami kebab!

I found adhesive bindis without going to Devon or Streamwood. Yay! This non-descript little store in a strip mall has quite a variety of Indian grocery items, and the extremely nice clerk mentioned if there's something I don't find there, they can probably order it, which is great. They have fresh produces, lots of spices, sauce mixes, and my favorite snacks, chakari (sp?). Yum. They also carry a limited amount of jewelry and makeup. Prices were very inexpensive compared to other places IMO. Ten dollar minimum is needed for credit card. Best part of the visit was how friendly and helpful the young male clerk was. Just a happy person. Always great to see! Namistay. :)

Spoke with owner & 2 employees - they weren't wearing mask in store and also letting people to roam around and shop without mask. Poor response upon asking about the City's guidelines. They said they doesn't won't to do that, because they are loosing customers. Money oriented people. Don't buy. Unhygienic.

shop owner is not genuine. sells expired products. not friendly staff. The product had worms and potential health risk. we are reporting to consumer protection service to close the shop. Owner makes fun of the customer regarding ethnicity.

The lady at the grocery counter Was super rude. She definitely needs a customer care training.

Expensive compared to other Indian grocery stores around. Also keep an eye for date of expiry, expired items are on the shelf too and worst part at register they don't even check for you in case you missed. I don't know if I can involve some local bodies to bring this to their attention. Apparently it's a customer who is at risk.
