Some Of the Best Sauce I have ever tasted! No lie it is so good you could drink it. I ordered some of their sauce off of the website and was really excited to try it out. Authentic and smooth!

This place says it all. It's real Italian food and you won't regret when you indulge into a bite. The pizza was delicious, warm, and real ingredients! Homemade is the best type of food. Great customer service, fast and friendly. The subs also are very good. I am happy I decided to step foot in here.

Delicious! The owners are very friendly and helpful and apparently will prepare catering meals that day if necessary.I have only had the pizza there which is delicious. It is thin crust which is well seasoned. I have heard that the sandwiches there are very good as well. Good prices too!It is a little hole in the wall type of place, so if you're looking for something fancy this isn't the place.

Went here for lunch a couple years ago...wasn't anything memorable. Sometimes you just accidentally order the wrong thing...it happens.Today I gave them a second chance, which I always do. Better results this time, so I was inspired to share my good information with the good people of Rockford to help draw business into this place, rather than the franchises on this side of town. That is what drove me there today, just sick of fast food and all the processed bullshit. We actually are part of a CSA and get organic vegetables weekly, but when I'm busy with work, I only have time to eat like shit.....i.e. fast food.I ordered the stuffed green pepper. It was stuffed with italian beef, topped with mozzarella. It was ok. It was later in lunch, so it wasn't really hot. But the flavor is there. I saw another reviewer gripe about the toughness of some of the pieces and I would agree, but wasn't a big deal to me as long as the taste is there. My teeth are pretty awesome at chopping things. Here is the showstopper: Seafood stuffed jumbo shells. Every Thursday - GO THERE! My friend ordered it and when he took his first bite, I could see the look on his face. I tried it and holy cow, it was absolutely mouth watering. I cannot remember an italian entree in a long long time that I would drool over. I was staring at my friend eating every bite. Come to think of it, my stuffed pepper was probably amazing, but my mistake was first tasting the seafood shells.....just set the bar way too high for my palette.THEN we did decide to order a slice of pizza too, never before tried it. Ironically enough yesterday I had Capri's sausage pizza for the first time and I was impressed, better than Anna's, better than Pinos (I know that's a bold statement), but it was hard to stop eating, best sausage I had. Anyhoo, I know this is a review for Deli Italia, so back to that - the sausage pizza was really pretty amazing. Sausage not the caliber of Capri, but the cheese, crust, sauce, and seasoning was top notch. I would say their simple cheese pizza probably trumps anything in Rockford....that is the foundation and they have perfected it. Very surprised to not see more reviews for this place raving about the pizza quality. Both times I went in there, customer service was friendly and welcoming. Greeted with smiles and plate was put together with care, offering fresh sauce and Parmesan cheese. Not the fanciest place, but simple and perfect for a lunch. Decorations pretty much look like charity items donated from a flea market booth that went under.Support local business, go to this place rather than the fast food chains. Hardworking local people here making a great product. Hope to expand and try other things on their menu soon.

Absolutely horrible service ! Went in and waited 10 minutes just to be seated when there was only 4 tables being served at the time. The waitress, Mary was very nice but took our drink order and then went on to serve other customers so we waited 15 minutes just to get our drinks, when she brought our drinks out we put in our pizza order which took an hour to make. Again the restaurant was completely dead, at this point there was only 3 tables being served. Throught the waiting period we both finished our drinks and had to wait a very long time for refills. When she finally brought our pizza out it was the wrong pizza so then we waited another 15-20 minutes for our pizza....on top of already having to wait an hour for it... Needless to say it was very poor service and the pizza wasn't worth the wait.

Got the italian beef here. Don't do it. Just no good. Sorry, everything is wrong about it. Horribly thick slices of tough beef, gross bread. Cheese was alright. The Au Jus wasn't that great either. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, I know some places can be like that. Was greatly disappointed. I looked at everyone's else plate with envy.

This is not a typical italian restaurant. When choosing entree from their cafeteria style counter, try dishes which you will not likely to find in other Italian restaurant. BTW, They make a great veggi pizza.

Great food and bar drinks are A+. Choice of six sauces and the bread is to die for! For the price best value downtown by far and the best Italian food in town . Great location and lovely garden out back. See John at the bar (the bartender from Maria's) Always great service. Save room for the Cannoli cake.

I ordered a sausage sandwich. I took a bite and asked my husband to taste it. We both agreed it was not cooked. We told the girl and she brought it back to the kitchen soon another girl brought back my sandwich. Dropped it on the table and informed us that it is homemade sausage. Not processed and we do NOT serve raw sausage. Turned around and walked away! We left our food on table and walked out! I sent an e mail to their main page but NEVER got a response. To me the food was bad BUT the service was way worse!
