DeGrand's Family Restaurant

An unassuming small town restaurant with surprisingly good food. We've stopped here for quick bites when driving thru (much better and more enjoyable than fast food). Our patty melts were wonderful; excellent fries. Friendly service.

We were looking for a place to stop on the way back home after leaving Door County on a rainy Sunday. We were also hoping to avoid Green Bay because it was a game day. This ended up being a good choice. Nice, clean restaurant. Plenty of choices. A slightly longer (30 min) wait if you are ordering pizza or fried chicken, but the menu clearly notes this. Sandwiches and breakfast items come out quickly. Our waitress, Danielle, did a great job!

DeGrand's is your quintessential Wisconsin small rural town's local full-menu restaurant. It has a great selection and great food. Deserts are often to die for. Daily specials as well as their Pizza Of The Month (see the sign out front). The staff are friendly hometown folks. Nice basic comfortable atmosphere. Booth, table, and counter seating are available. If gluten-sensitive / Celiac, don't be afraid to speak up. Management and many of the staff are knowledgeable and will take precautions. We have that issue and seldom have an issue.For adult beverages and after-hours, KELLY D's PUB is connected to its east side.For larger parties or events, just behind them is their large venue: GATHERINGS 43.

I have been in WI since 9/21. I got here evacuating a hurricane coming to a family. I didn't know was here or how many their were and their history in the state of WI. When I got to Madison. I began trying the infamous "cheese curds". I have found them to be quite meh...always pre frozen, tasteless and chewy. I wondered? Is it because I lived in CA and LA most of my life eating in SF, Orange County/LA County and NOLA? Nah! It's just cursed me with knowing what GOOD FOOD tastes like. I found GOOD CHEESE CURDS! Their handmade ones are the real deal and mmm mmm good!I got them to go. (I'm disabled.) They were very accommodating. They held the doors open for me to get my walker out the door. The only suggestions I would make is to watch the oven with the cheesey bread. It was over cooked underneath and on the edges. The texture of bread when overcooked with the cheese on top and too much heat underneath. The butter and garlic is burnt away.The ambiance may be enhanced with conversation between servers about, "where you gonna go drink tonight?", kept in the back amongst themselves, for their own personal safety too ladies. It's my own experience, strength and hope for you. Protect yourselves.AND DEFINITELY HAVE WHAT WI CHEESE CURDS ARE MEANT TO BE HERE!

Stopped here on our way home from Marquette, Michigan to Chicago. What a nice place. The food was really good and very economical. We have a new place to stop for a meal on our travels up north. A good variety of things to choose from. Very friendly staff.They have a soup and salad bar that was fresh and delicious.

Got a salad, the jalapeño burger and fries... I found out while the burgers are frozen but they come from the owner's own cows which they butcher... That burger was great tasting, however, I was disappointed in the size of it.. It left me asking, "where's the beef"? The size was so small.. It was like a kiddie burger.. It's not for a hungry man, lol.. The coleslaw was different.. It was creamy at all... It was like an oil-based maybe with some vinegar in it? I wasn't a fan... I also got a piece of chocolate mousse cake which was just average... Service while friendly was very slow.

Great breakfast! Friendly staff and very reasonable prices - although the restaurant was full - service was faster then expected.

WOW!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!! This restaurant is a gem in a quaint little town!!! If you have an opportunity to stop by I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO!!!! If you eat anywhere else you will be upset with yourself!We stopped out after a day of exploring and camping. We had a large party of nine, 3 kids and 6 adults.Service was a 5 star, no make that a 7 star!!! Becky was outstanding, personality, knowledge and a never stop motor. We never had an empty plate or bowl or less than half full drink the entire time we were here!!!Soup and salad buffet came with the dinners! I was skeptical at first. I could have just eaten that for dinner! Everything was fresh and tasted soooooo goooooooddddd!Dinner came and was again very fresh and obviously they spend time making things in house! Fish fry's, grilled cheese, hot beef sandwich, fried chicken, spaghetti. You name it, it was on point and tasted amazing!We will be back every time we are in the area!

The turkey and basil sandwich was amazing! Great atmosphere as well. Our waitress name was kaylee and did an amazing job. She was the one that recommended the sandwich and always had my water filled up! This place rocks!

The few times I have been there, the food is overcooked and dried out. Staff is friendly, but service is a bit slow. I have only been there for supper, so I can't say how breakfast taste.
