Sesame Chicken Bao: I guess it's "American Chinese" because it's like a burger instead of a traditional Bao.

I had wanted to try DanDan for a bit (pre-Top Chef!) and was so thrilled that it exceeded my expectations! You always get a bit wary after a place gets a lot of hype...Anyhow, the place itself is super cute inside. Felt very warm and cozy on a cold, snowy night. I went with one friend and we opted to basically get one item from each column - Sesame Chicken Bao, Singapore Noodles, and General Tso's Cauliflower. I honestly can't decide what my favorite was! I loved, loved, loved the sauce on the bao buns (which were puffy and delicious and surprisingly huge). The pork in the Singapore Noodles was incredible too. It's Dry January so I got a mocktail and was pleased that it was only $6 when other restaurants charge $15 for NA drinks. It was the Company Refresher - super refreshing (true to name) with good body.Overall, a great experience and I'm excited to go back and try more.

Surprisingly authentic vegan ma po tofu in Milwaukee! After seeing that their menu had a bunch of vegan options, I put in an online order for their vegan ma po tofu ($16 plus tax), which comes with rice, and it was waiting for me when requested. The portion is large, coming with the signature soft tofu, with plenty of Szechuan peppercorns, peanut, green onions, and ground homemade seitan that added a nice dimension. Moderately spicy, about on par for the dish. I was quite impressed.I'd definitely return to try their other vegan items, but I would for sure order this again.

Always a pleasure to eat here. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Honestly, we ordered so much to share for our table of four. I normally would say everything that we ordered. But it all was so good and we chose items that sounded tasty or interesting to us is (if we hadn't had it here before).... And we weren't disappointed. Just come. Have a great drink or two- and enjoy the food. It's awesome.

Dan Dan noodles seemed dry, the sauce didn't help them, they were clumped together and I had to pull some of the apart. The chicken Boa sliders were tasty.

This is absolutely some of the best Asian I've ever had! For sure one of the best in the city, and I've tried manyyyy places. Everything is meant to be shared and they bring each dish out as they are done. We ordered the crab rangoons for an appetizer. They were a bit on the small side but the amount of filling made up for it. 8/10 I ordered the beef chow fun and it was so delicious. It was packed with flavor and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. 9/10. My boyfriend got the orange chicken which was also amazing. The chicken was really crispy and the sauce had a nice orange flavor but not super strong like some other places. 9.5/10The service was decent. A little slow at times but the food definitely outshined that. I will be back for sure!

I liked Dan Dan. If you're wanting Asian fusion food I'd recommend coming here. It's a great spot for a date night. Id call ahead of time and make reservations. You won't be getting authentic Chinese food but you'll be getting a good fusion of dishes. I'd recommend sharing to really get to taste multiple dishes.

We called in advance to see if they allowed walk-ins and they had said yes but it would only be for outdoors. My family and I were def more than okay with that. When we walked in, we had asked for a table and the host asked if we had a reservations and we replied, "no" and she gave us a passive smile and sigh. She was def rude about it. We were eventually seated inside to our surprise but no complaints. When we walked in, there are plenty of seating and it was a clean area. Booths had some blockers on top. The FOOD: Szechuan Dumplings 4/5 -- we thoroughly enjoyed these but the filling was really tiny. It kept falling apart when we were trying to grab it. Crab Ragoon 2/5 -- I enjoyed the filling -- you def can taste the real crab but there was close to nothing in the wrap. It can out fat looking but when u bite into it, it was air. Singaporean Noodles & Chicken Pad See Ew 1/5 -- there was flavor to the dishes but it was completely salty and too much sauce. We didn't finish any of it at all and def would not get it again Mongolian Beef 3/5 -- this dish was also drenched it sauce and veggies. There were a few pieces of meat. The ratio was not balanced at all. General Tso's Cauliflower 5/5 -- the only best thing on the menu. It was cooked to perfection -- crispy on the outside and tender on the outside. Would 10/10 recAll together our check came out to be $140. Pretty typical for a "dim sum" spot. Overall, I would not come back. The service wasn't as great. Our waitress didn't come by and ask how we were doing nor how things were. To my surprise, this place has a high rating but it's mid.

Food and cocktails are amazing! Love sharing dishes. Our favorites were the Walnut Shrimp, Schmaltz Rice, and Orange Chicken but I don't think you could go wrong!

I haven't watched Top Chef but had heard a lot of raving reviews of Dan Dan so when my friend was in town I decided to check it out. I loved the vibes of the place, the decor was great! It was super simple to make a reservation and even though we were 10min early we were still sat and didn't have to wait. Took some time to get our apps ordered but after that the veg momos came out pretty quick and they were delicious. We then got our drinks and put in our entree orders. Problem came with the timing of the entree delivery. I got the Mapo Tofu and he got the Orange Chicken and his dish did not come out for 8-10 minutes after mine was given. It was all DELISH but the timing being wrong made the awkward "I want to eat before this gets cold but don't want to be rude" look I had to give my friend. Overall great food but the timing of food arriving could be fixed. Would come back again but maybe get an order to go or just order everything at once!
