Went here for dinner after seeing that the Yelp Milwaukee group tried it out recently. It lived up to the expectations we built from the reviews! We got there right after they opened on a Saturday night figuring that they were going to be pretty busy and they were. We got the last table downstairs. The waitress was quick to come bring us water and take our order. We ended up ordering the gyoza, onigiri, shoyu butter noodles, ginger pork, and strawberry taiyaki for dessert. We werealso pleasantly surprised that there was complementary soup with our meal. Given how busy they were, the food came out pretty quick, but as we waited we could inspect the anime wallpaper. The gyoza was tasty dipped into the sauce. The mushroom onigiri was probably my least favorite thing, but was one of my friends favorites. I think I was just thrown off by the cold mushroom, don't know why I expected it to be warm. The shoyu butter noodles were solid, very flavorful with lots of veggies. The ginger pork was my favorite. It was loaded with ginger flavor and had a nice amount of veggies to accompany the pork. Also was enough for a couple meals. For dessert we got the strawberry taiyaki. It was hearty and filled with ice cream. This was a version I've never had before, but we said it would make the perfect fair food/street food. Also, very good presentation. Overall, the food was tasty, prices were fair, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I say this mainly because in the time we were there, there was a young child at the table next to us who was getting grumpy and having tantrums, but the staff helped out by bringing over a couple toys, showing him the robot, and interlacing with him. You could see that it was a big help to the parents and allowed them to have some prolonged time out. 5 stars for that patience and customer service alone. Definitely want to come back and try more items.

Listen. I've been here multiple times since I first came 4 months ago. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee. How does it get better every time?! You must go.I think it's important to note, this restaurant is new! It's up and coming. And I've been going since it opened. In the beginning they were not as busy. Now?! It's hella busy!! It's packed even. And they're often running out of staples by the end of the night. To me? These are all GOOD things. If you're the type of person who is in a rush or is going to get frustrated about the wait times, then don't go! But you'll be missing out. Wait time is totally worth it. Our wait time the last time we went was so long! But with great company and wonderful service, who can be mad? The servers and owners were so polite and apologetic. Book a reservation!A must go.

Had my first visit a couple of months ago with a friend. We were seated on the second floor, which I thought was beautifully designed. I didn't know there was usable space when this was previously occupied by The Noble. We ordered drinks and started by sharing the Onigiri with spicy tuna and Chicken Karaage. I think the onigiri would benefit from a little texture, but it was an ok starter. The Chicken Karaage delivered closer to my expectations of seasoning and crispy texture. For entrees, my friend ordered the Shoyu Butter Noodles with beef added, and I ordered the Japanese Beef Curry, which is served over rice. My beef curry dish was good. The gravy was thicker than the version I had at another restaurant, but still solid. I thought my friend's Shoyu Butter Noodle dish had a little more flavor than my dish, but the beef in her dish was overcooked, so it was pretty dry. Our service was very good, and overall, I enjoyed my experience enough to visit again some time to try other dishes on the menu.

Ohhh where to start! Cute Robot Japanese Kitchen was AWESOME. We actually went on New Years Eve before the dinner rush. We walked in with no reservation, but were able to be seated in the Tatami Mat dining area on the second floor, which we were totally cool with, as that is how we dined at many restaurants in Japan! The first floor was small, but very cozy! Would love to sit at the bar for dinner sometime in the future. Service was great, we were greeted warmly and ordered some drinks. Lots of good options, three of us ordered the Lemon Chuhai, which was yummy. We did think the sake and soju options were a little expensive, could be nice to have some lower cost bottle options to make it more cost accessible for the table. Bring on the food! Two of the four of us lived in Japan for many years, so we were excited! Loved the spicy edamame, they were craveable. Japanese fries were a hit, easy to share and came out nice and hot. I can also assure you that the Nagoya Tebasaki are going to be the best chicken wings you've had in awhile. The onigiri wasn't quite what we expected being used to the convenience store versions in Japan where the filling is completely encased in rice, but it tasted incredible, so we didn't mind!Had to get the Katsu and Curry dishes, and both were incredible. Nice crunchy cutlets, perfectly cooked. Katsu sauce was great, and enjoyed the cabbage salad as well. Curry flavor was exactly what you want it to be, and serving size was big too, plan for leftovers if you get apps!Ended on the Taiyaki ice cream, and opted for chocolate and vanilla flavor. Only bummer was the fish shaped waffle tasted a little stale - it wasn't crunchy, but wasn't soft, so the texture wasn't what I was used to with these types of desserts. ABSOLUTELY will be coming back whether to dine in or to do a carry out. So glad to have this restaurant in the Milwaukee/Walker's Point dining scene, and hope they stay around for a long time!

What a delightful little place! I was hoping for a robot server, but the cute robot is just a mascot. I'll let it slide! At first, I thought it was super tiny, as we walked into a room with about 4 tables and a bar. I didn't realize that there was another dining room upstairs. Oops! Initially it was to be a 45 minute wait, which is understandable for a Saturday night. Fortunately , for us at least, there were two open seats at the bar. Huzzah, no wait! Don't worry, I asked if it was ok first. The staff were running around like crazy, but they were still attentive to our needs, as well as others. Often apologizing for delays, though from our perspective we were not waiting long for anything at all.We had the street fries as an appetizer, and while nothing like I saw in Japan, they were yummy. Basically fries with takoyaki sauce and toppings(mayo, green onion, bonito flakes, aonori) I was hoping to try the chicken katsu for dinner to see how it measured up to a delicious meal I had in Japan, but they were already out by 7:30. Luckily they had pork katsu! I chose the non-curry katsu dinner and it was amazing. Decent sized cutlet, rice, pickles and cabbage salad. I was hoping for sesame dressing on the salad, but it was more of a French style. Still good! Everything was perfect. The pork was juicy, rice was slightly sticky, pickles weren't too sour. It was such a filling plate full of comfort food. Since I hadn't eaten much all day, I had room for dessert! We split a sweet cake, which was actually not overly sweet. However the chocolate syrup was maybe a little much when combined with the fresh fruit and whipped cream. I'd definitely get it again though.I definitely can't wait to go back!!

The restaurant name is appropriate for the vibe of this place, very cute! The design and art decorations in the restaurants have a mix of anime pop culture and Japanese art. What's coolers is that a lot of them are locally made from the owner's network of artists! I got to meet the owners by accident as I was taking pictures upstairs. and they are super friendly and didn't to earth! The first floor resembles a typical walkers point historical house like a living room.dining room Area with a small bar and a few tables, it felt chill and cozy. Upstairs is a bit more spacious and has a space for floor seating or could be a stage for an event/performance. The upstairs also has a bar so you can come up and hang with your friends with some drinks. For food, I ordered the fried tofu for appetizer and the shrimp noodles. They were so good. The portions were just right, I did have extra leftovers from the noodles. The tofu is a must , its texture has the light crispnessOn the outside and soft on the inside, I wish o could make it at home but I'll have To come back for more.Haven't tried their desserts and drinks yet so there will be a definite next time!

This restaurant is an adorable gem tucked away in Walkers Point! A group of four of us stopped in for dinner on Saturday night and they were busy but able to accommodate us after a short wait. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had the opportunity to sit at the zaisu style seats near the window which was a fun experience! The food was all impeccable with great flavor and I didn't feel the wait was too long at all. We were all served a miso soup appetizer and the apps we ordered as well as our food came out at reasonable intervals that allowed us time to talk and enjoy our company. I had the Katsu Chicken Curry which was delicious and my husband had the Shoyu Butter Noodles which I do think he out ordered me! They had a great Sake menu with recommendations on how to drink each, as well as cocktails and other drink options.

I found Cute Robot while walking in Walker's Point one night and made a point to come back. It's a different style of Japanese for the area, with curry and katsu dishes. The restaurant is really really cute. There are two levels, with a bar area and a few tables downstairs and more tables and a tatami seating area upstairs. I have eaten on both levels and they both have their charms. Sit at the bar and you can watch orders come out. Upstairs is a little quieter. Both have fun anime-inspired decor. This is a Mom and Pop style place and service is a family affair. There can be a few pileups during busy times but everyone is so nice and checks on you and refills your water.I have really enjoyed the food on both my visits. I had the fish fry that's only available on Fridays, with potato and seaweed salads. On my second visit I had the spicy tuna onigiri which I really liked. It had the right proportion of filling to rice and the scallions complemented the spicy tuna. The ebi katsu was a nice portion and not overly greasy and I liked the pickles it came with.Cute Robot is a great addition to Walker's Point and I'll be back.

I think the food was pretty good and pretty fresh with all the ingredients used. We started with French fries with some toppings and good quality dipping sauces then moved on to eki shrimp sandu which was pretty fresh and less greasy than Sandu's I have had previously. The hot fried crusted shrimp sandwiched between fresh coleslaw and bread with a dipping sauce was very good combination. The beef stew curry was good and had tender meat chunks but also was thicker than any curry I have had previously. Reminded me of a Nepalian curry vs a Thai or Indian curry and could have some more garnishes on the side. Overall some kinks to work out from just opening but overall good experience and would have like even bigger portions. 40$ for the three items.

We sat at the bar on the second floor and the food and service was impeccable! I went with my sister who lived in Japan and she raved how authentic the food is! Will be coming back here and the NA drinks were very good as well!!
