Absolutely delicious homemade food, that was generous in portion size. Friendly and attentive staff along with price being good. We at our table had the veggie skillet; Wisconsin country skillet they came with toast, we chose the sour dough and a blueberry pancake and coffee. The sausage gravy on the Wisconsin country skillet was just like we used to have when grandma used to make! You will Thank yourself for going anytime between 7 am and 1 PM Monday - Sunday!!

This is exactly what every local breakfast spot should be: A homey environment with homemade comfort food and friendly service! The cinnamon swirl pancakes are truly a highlight -- they're huge, so share an order for the table and everyone will leave in a better mood! The skillets and omelettes are hearty and the hash browns are perfect. Don't forget to grab some fresh bakery items on your way out. This place is a gem and I will stop here every time I'm in the area.

Heaven... Amazing food, reasonable prices, cozy place and friendly service. This place hits a 5/5 in every aspect! Food is fresh, delicious and hits the spot. The biscuits we ordered were not done right. So they gave us a refund on that. Overall a great brunch place in Madison!Would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu.

I've lived in the Madison area since 1982. Went here for breakfast for the first time today. It is absolutely fantastic. Easily among the best breakfast available in the Madison area at any price. Service was excellent and extremely friendly. The ambiance is kind of down home and local and also very friendly, lots of regulars here. All the food here is made from scratch including lots of made from scratch bakery items that look scrumptious. nd it is excellent. Servings are plentiful, my wife and I both got more food than we could eat. Pricing is extremely reasonable. Our bill was $19.98 before tip.

Pro: Local feeding hole. Cozy, friendly, and fresh baked goods.Con: Could get crowded. Came here for Saturday morning with family on the way from Madison to Green Bay. Took about 30 minutes to get seated, there are some place inside by the cashier, but we took seats outside in a little gazebo. Omelet was delicious, nothing out of the world. But the peanut butter cupcake was something to die for, we were stuffed, after tried one, we took half a dozen to go.

We went for Sunday breakfast, seeing a full parking lot and crowded restaurant as a good sign. The farmhouse décor and the history on the menu's cover gave a great first impression. However, the food was awful. The steak was raw and bloody, not even close to medium rare. The hashbrowns were completely uncooked, white and crunchy-- a health hazard and toxic to consume. Despite sending them back, the replacements were just as bad. Even the bread was barely toasted. There was no seasoning at all, and everything was watery and soft. The menu advertised griddle breakfasts, but there was no trace of grilled, fried, or browned food. Our server was unresponsive, so was the cashier. I would love to support a local, family-owned restaurant with such a long history, but it was a huge disappointment.

We stumbled into this part of town and spotted this from the road. I can see where it could be a favorite for the area. The meal fell short. First off it's breakfast all day. Which could mean in the afternoon something like bacon hanging around since the morning could not be up to snuff. However anytime of day serving OM for OE eggs doesn't cut it. The signature is the hash browns and they are really good. We found it odd that a skillet breakfast isn't served in a skillet. What really surprised me was how delicious the water is. The bakery items looked too good to pass up. I enjoyed my blueberry bar and Basil loved the caramel roll later on in the hotel.
