Cribb Fine Foods

I received a tip to visit this classic food market from 1939. Nestled in a neighborhood of homes, this type market are a rare experience. The shining star here is the butcher shop.The majority of meats they offer are prime. There are a few items which are choice. Not often can you find a butcher who will lop off a hunk of prime ribeye to any thickness you desire. I had to grab a couple of their housemade brats. The majority of the sausages they carry are already frozen.This is a full service grocery store, so I grabbed a few other items I needed.You'll also find Big Ed's BBQ sauces and a handful of other rubs and sauces too.This store reminds me of Kreger's Brat and Sausage Haus in Naperville, just on a larger scale. I will certainly stop back again when out this way.

Five stars for the subs and the bratwurst. This grocery store and butcher shop buried in a Waukegan neighboorhood, have some of the best brats I've ever had. I brought some to a family vacation in Michigan and everyone said they were outstanding! Forget the Big Brand name brats and support the local mom and pop joints. My freezer was packed with them all summer.The sub sandwich was also one of the best, with fresh sliced meats and cheeses and veggies. It never made it out of the parking lot. All I wanted to do was try half of it but I couldn't stop eating it until there was no more. I also tried the stuffed pork chops that are huge and tasty.

Back again. Ordered a couple thick Ribeye cuts.. And Cajun brats. While there ordered a made to order sub sandwich from the deli. Beats the sub chains by a mile...not freaky quick, but better quality and less expensiveAlso picked up some locally made sangria (Gluntz) for the holiday..

I wanted to like this place so I ignored the fact that there are no recent reviews. Now I know why. There was nothing fine about the food, and one look around made me seriously sourcing quality. The produce looked old, not imperfect, old. Like they got the oranges that fell around the tree and hung out on the ground for two weeks. So, not good for the zest I was hoping for, forget about organic.I wasn't impressed with the meat selection, and again looking around at the rest of the low value selections, my hope for getting humanely sourced meat was non existent....as were any other customers. I actually thought it had closed down when I drove up.

Best. Butcher. Ever. Ya want fine quality meat? This is where you buy it. Brats are amazing, and every other cut & kind of meat is fantastic! Plus, they have some Scandinavian items as well which are hard to find. Love this place. A Waukegan staple.

Cribbs is the finest,best kept secret, go to for the absolute BEST cuts of meat,deli,and the SUPER SUB SANDWICH is " to die for"! Thank you Jeff and family for keeping it old school and maintaining the absolute highest quality!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE! I wish I could give them 10 starsssss! Every month I get a meat package for my family of 4 that eat like it's 10 of them! The quality of meats are excellent! Fresh and I am never disappointed! Reasonably priced even if this crazy economy im forever hooked!

It's all in their name Fine foods this place hands-down is in classic experience when you walk through the door sent you back in time in a good way gives you a nostalgic feeling as you sit late for your fresh sandwich you can drool over the prime cuts enjoy Chicago land and southern Wisconsin
