We ate here on Monday 1/27/2025. 2:20 pmIt's a bar with comfy booths, there was classic rock on suitable for us boomer ppl. Service was great, waitress was patient. I had an Angus burger with sauted vidalia onions, gluten free bun and various toppings, with many additions available. Husband had an angus beefsteak with sauted vidalia onions and mushrooms. Tasted good. We enjoyed the time there. It was pleasant and No Politics!Food was quite tasty. Desserts sounded fantastic and we took one home.

Crave is a reliable local spot that you can get some decent bar food at. Spur of the moment I decided to take my 2 kids out for a Friday fish fry. We were lucky to sneak in and get a table that wouldn't be flipping for another hour, but I definitely suggest making a reservation or you will end up waiting! I got the breaded walleye fish fry with potato pancakes on the side. It is generous serving with 2 large pieces of walleye - way too much for one person to finish IMO! The fish was done nicely and had a good flavor. They have crayons and menus for kids and do a nice meal with a drink for about $7. The kids got Mac and cheese (which basically looked like Kraft but they ate it up haha) and a burger. The sweet potato fries were really good but the regular were kind of tasteless and dry.Service was good once we were finally paid attention to, but with the expectation of being moved through quickly, we sat for almost 10 min before being attended to. We sat in the far right table area which had a pretty low key ambience, the bar area is definitely more lively and a better section to be seated in, but it was fine to be shoved back in a corner so the kids didn't disturb anyone.

I found myself looking for a Friday fish fry close to Germantown so that I could be back by 6:30pm. After looking through my bookmarks of places I hadn't been to yet, Crave Bar & Food's pictures intrigued me the most. In addition to the beer battered walleye with potato pancakes I got beer batter cheese curds and a dozen wings.Happy hour is 2pm to 5pm Monday through Friday and, along with having drink specials, select appetizers are $7 each. The cheese curds, which are huge and come as an order of nine, are one of those select apps. The batter didn't have much beer taste and the shredded Parmesan on top seemed unnecessary, but for $7 they were a steal and even at the regular price of $10.50 they're an excellent value. The old pictures I saw of their wings made them look like they were coated in a rub even though the menu didn't state it. Just to be safe, so I could taste the rub if there was one, I got half the wings without sauce and half with honey BBQ. There didn't end up being a rub on the wings, but the sauceless ones were still great. The honey BBQ was bold tasting, yet didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken. Although I enjoyed the wings, $18 for a dozen is on the very high end of what I would pay, especially since they were average sized and not jumbo. The amount of food on the walleye plate blew me away. Even if they gave me just one of the two large walleye fillets, I feel like that would have been about fair for the price. The two huge fillets made it feel like I hit the fish fry jackpot. Similar to the cheese curds, I didn't taste any beer in the batter, but the fillets were good regardless.I prefer potato pancakes that are thin and crispy, but their thicker potato pancakes were great even with largely being soft due to their thickness. I liked the herbs in the potato pancakes and was a big fan of the cinnamon applesauce compared to plain applesauce most other restaurants provide.Throughout dinner I heard some of the hostesses and waitresses stressing about reservations and having enough tables. Apparently I got lucky that a table was available right away when I got there at 4:30pm. I guess call to make a reservation if you plan on coming on a Friday night.

Date of visit: February 17, 2024We met some friends here before seeing a movie up at North Shore and it was fair, but not amazing.Service was attentive, staff came to fill waters regularly and took our order with little delay. The layout is a bit odd, our table is in almost a back hallway. We made it work but it was a little bizarre--felt bad for the family at the other table in our little hideaway, we were probably too loud for them!Food was a mixed bag, with the cheese curds being quite fantastic but my Chicken Caesar Wrap lacking in flavor though it was a sizable portion. There was a bit too much lettuce and not enough dressing, making for some dry bites. It was also cut oddly, making one small piece and one large piece. I was excited for the sweet potato fries but they were a total letdown; they had absolutely no flavor, I didn't see a point in eating them after the first few as they had no taste and I was willing to bet they were not exactly low in calories.

We ordered wine and salads. I had the soup and salad and Italian bread. Unfortunately, it was more of a bun that had been sliced in half and smashed and buttered and toasted. It was soggy on the bottom so I dipped it in the soup. The potato cheese soup was pretty good, I didn't know there was an option to have French onion until I saw someone else have it delivered to their table. That looked pretty good.My friend ordered the spinach salad which she said was pretty good but it was also 19 bucks with chicken.Service was quick but a bit abrupt and impersonal. Most staff here are always friendly in general. Patio is quite nice but no one was dining outside on our visit.

I haven't been to the Milwaukee area for over 4 years. The thing I remember the most is how cheese curds unlocked a craving I never knew I had. So when I flew in for work, I immediately started searching for a restaurant, any restaurant that had cheese curds. What I also found out is that fish fry Fridays were a thing up here. I asked a couple of my very best Illinois friends and they told me to try it! I stumbled across Crave while scouring local menus and saw it had both, so off I went.I arrived at a jam packed bar/restaurant on a Friday that had one table left. Upon being seated, I immediately knew what I wanted and ordered promptly.I ordered the cheese curds, French onion soup, and beer-battered cod.First came the cheese curds, beer battered, HUGE and sprinkled with parmesan and served with a side of ranch and marinara. Crispy, gooey, cheesey, creamy... These curds were heaven. Although the ranch was delicious, it was a bit too creamy when paired with an already rich cheese curd. It paired a lot better with the marinara. The French onion soup came out in a small bowl (crock it's described). A nice layer of melted, bubbly cheese covered the delicious soup. Although the soup wasn't as "tangy" as other French onion soups I've had, it was still delicious. I downed it a little too quickly and probably didn't get to enjoy it thoroughly. The Fish Fry came with 3 pieces of beer-battered cod, a slice of rye, coleslaw, potato cakes, and applesauce. I was a bit confused about the applesauce but the waitress told me that you eat it with the potato cake. The potato cake tasted like a mix of a sour creamed baked potato in hash brown form, but with an extra seared crust to the point where it was more crunchy than crispy. It did pair well with the applesauce. The beer-battered cod was delicious, crispy, and flavorful. The tartar sauce was creamy and tangy.Overall I really enjoyed Crave. It wasn't the healthiest meal but it sure was comfort food to the max. I recommend it to anyone.

It came with onions and mushrooms!!!As a server she should have known my husband already requested no onions and no mushrooms. Take time to ask!We returned the sandwich and was not charged. However, my husband walked away without a full meal... be cautious

Rode our bikes with our 2 puppies here on July 6. Went to sit on patio and owner came out and apologized that the patio was closed due to lack of staff. Went back today to try again. Seated on the patio by the nice hostess. Sat for a bit only to be told this time no dogs on the patio. Why didn't the owner mention this in July. We're done Crave. We enjoy Cafe Hollander, St. Paul's and Foxtown more. Plenty of great staff and very dog friendly.
