Crafty Cow - Burgers & Fried Chicken

Tried this restaurant with coworkers for the first time last Friday afternoon and it was fabulous! The dining area is open and casual with places for smaller groups and large groups as well. The atmosphere is a laid back vibe and the decor is tasteful. I ordered the fish sandwich with a side of waffle fries (they serve waffle fries as their main side) that were seasoned well and came in a generous portion without being too much. The fish sandwich was amazing and had a broccoli slaw as the topping. The bun,fish, and slaw was fresh and worked well together. For a drink I had lemonade and beer (mixed like a German Radler). The lemonade was very good with just the right amount of tart and sweet. Others in my party got chicken sandwiches and the server told us they were voted Milwaukee's best chicken three years in a row. The coworkers who ordered it said it was really good. Another coworker ordered pork belly bites as an appetizer and raved about the taste. For dessert two of us had the Sugar Plum cheesecake and it was very good. Overall the Crafty Cow in Wauwatosa gets five stars for excellent service, amazing food in good portions and fair prices, and an easy laid back vibe. If you're looking for a new restaurant do yourself a favor and check them out

So many good things this visit!We missed the brunch cut off time by a couple but really wanted the pancake battered curds so we asked if it was possible to still get them. Our awesome server Tara quickly ran to the kitchen to check if we were able to still get them and we were. If you've never tried them, they are seriously delicious. It's a combo that still confuses me a little... dipping cheese in maple syrup...? But OMG it's so good. And the cheese is so melty and smooth!!Was surprised to find a happy hour on the weekend! (it's EVERY day 2-5p) So my husband grabbed a $2 tallboy.I got the Mac n cheese, which is a great Mac. But when you add the fries chicken it really is one of the best around. And likely more than enough food to save some for a second meal. My husband loves the hot stuff so he got the seasonal special Nashville hot burrito. He loved it. And since I saved half my entree to take home, I had room for the delicious Chocolate Peanut butter cheesecake. It was super rich, making it perfect to share.Don't forget to sign up for rewards and let your server know your phone number so you can get rewards for your next visit, cuz you'll definitely want to go again.My only complaint is that finding parking isn't always the easiest but that's true of most of the great places in that area of North Ave.

Back again--the service and food continue to be pretty awesome. As always, the burgers were cooked perfectly--well seasoned, to temp and juicy. It goes without saying but gosh golly I love those waffle fries.

A cute place in Wauwatosa! I love the cozy vibes in the restaurant. A fun place for hosting get togethers as well. They are known for their chicken sandwiches and burgers. We had the classic cow and honey butter chicken biscuit with a side of beer battered cheese curds. Our meal was crispy, juicy and cheesy! I loved that they played 90's-2000's music throughout the night. This place is also family and kids friendly. Our waiter was very sweet and checked up on us a few times. I did notice the wait time for the food does seem a bit longer than usual. Do note they do not give out paper copies of your bill or receipts. As a customer, I would still like to see the items that I ordered on paper before swiping my card on a machine. You sign and tip while the waiter is holding the card reader at the table for you. No pressure! Ha

FOOD:I ordered the classic chicken sandwich. The portions were solid. I had just enough food. The chicken was crispy and not too tough. It was cooked all the way through. The fries were decent. Good crisp, yet not very flavorful. I had to add a lil ketchup to add some balance. SERVICE: Our waiter was Delainey. She was very sweet. She checked on the table frequently. I'll definitely come here again. The menu is very reasonably priced.

The food was great but it took a long time for it to come out (about an hour) and service was generally slow. It took time for drinks to come (no mixers or anything) and a long time for food.I ordered the Canadian Tuxedo burger and it was excellent. It came with waffle fries and a great demi-glace. Fish sandwich was good as was the honey butter chicken biscuit.

Been awhile since we've been. Same ole down drinking bar. Cheese Curds were great. New since I've been here was the Nashville Hot Ramen, which had a good kick to it and really enjoyed it. The Brisket was good ... honestly a bit too salty. Good beer selection. The staff was great, our waitress was very nice and was Johnny on the spot. Great downtown Oconomowoc restaurant bar.

Explored the menu further and keep coming back for more. My husband and I decided we just cannot fault this place at all. The food, the staff, the space, the loyalty programs galore -- such a fantastic place and you must come and find what you like. Guarantee that the portion and price point are really spot on too. We really like it here.

While the service was good, avoid the wings at all costs. Think the Griswald family turkey as they're all skin and no meat. This cut isn't good to start with, but we tried it anyway. At $15 for 4 wings and as bad as they were, we kind of hate ourselves for not returning them. The look of the place is shabby chic brewery which is pretty played out. The burger while good, but not great, is $16+.There's just not enough substance nor definition here to warrant us to go back unfortunately.
