This happens to be our neighborhood liquor store and I couldn't be happier about it. The staff are the most knowledgeable I've ever encountered. A little anecdote to illustrate...they carried a white blend that I LOVED for a few months. When I went back in looking for it I couldn't find any, but unfortunately I didn't remember what it was called. With my lame description of the bottle art and cap color, they were able to determine the wine and ordered a case that day. Service is fantastic, selection is awesome, and the free Saturday tastings can't be beat!

Any time I am on Johnson, I make it a point to stop here to try a new bottle of wine. Yes, this is a small shop, but their wine selection is phenomenal! They carry many unique wines, and you can always find a wine made from a grape you've never heard of. Bob has never steered me wrong with any of his wine recommendations. The beer selection is limited, but I always find something new worth trying.

Top rate customer service. Their scotch/bourbon is a little pricy, but beer and wine prices are competitive with other local retailers. They carry a good selection of local beers, too. Check them out!

"Highest Employee to Customer Ratio in Madison" - funny stuff. There's always like a family of cashiers behind the counter plus a wine rep wandering around. And they give my pup treats. Nothing makes a dog walk better than picking up a six pack mid-stroll.

This place has the most wonderful (FREE) wine tastings from 3-6pm on Saturdays. There are usually three people behind the counter to serve you and tell you all about the wines. One guy in particular is incredibly knowledgeable about each of the wines and loves to engage you in a conversation about what you're experiencing while you're drinking it. I love this, personally, but others might not. Plus, they actually will put out sharp cheddar and crackers to heighten the experience. Did I mention it's free?! Well....initially it's free, but I've been completely unable to resist buying a featured bottle any time that I've gone. ;)Wine selection aside, they've got a great, unique beer and liquor selection. They are undeniably more expensive than say, Woodman's, but I love them so much that I don't even care. Support your neighborhood boozerie!

Love this place. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great beer and wine (and liquor? But I'm not as familiar) selection. Plus, free wine tastings on Saturday to check out their selection..they even have crackers and cheese. I never want to buy booze anywhere else!

I stopped in to Cork N' Bottle while visiting Madison on a weekend getaway and I will say I was initially very impressed. They have a great stock and I believe the employee who was working the day I stopped in genuinely care about me as a customer and my business. I am looking a a specific, rare spirit. Cork N' Bottle's website boasts: "We were established in 1960, so if you're interested in it, we've probably seen it-- whether it's a rare bourbon, limited-edition run from an obscure brewery, or a small-production wine from a tiny appellation in the middle of nowhere. We're passionate about what we sell, and we're dedicated to curating an interesting rotating selection of delicious and sometimes hard-to-find beverages of all sorts. Want a special order? We're your store."So I decided to stop in and when I did, the employee I spoke to was very kind and gave me some tips about how I might find it and suggested that I call on Monday to speak to the employee who handles purchasing for this type of spirit. When I did, the employee I spoke to on the phone was incredibly condescending. It doesn't bother me that the store doesn't have the spirit in stock or the ability to specifically make sure I get a bottle. What bothers me is that the man I spoke to on the phone made me feel stupid for even asking if they may have some come in stock. I understand certain spirits are really hard to come by and it can be frustrating dealing with these type of requests if it's something that is in high demand, but it is exceptionally poor customer service to ridicule someone for asking a question when the website specifically boasts of the business' ability to help find rare bottles. All that being said, they do have a nice selection and the employee I dealt with in the store was delightful. I would consider going back for simple shopping as there didn't seem to be high mark up on things that tend to be harder to come by, but I would not ever ask for assistance from staff again.

Best small liquor store in Madison. I would almost call this a "craft" liquor store, because they could definitely help you put together an awesome cocktail. The staff and especially the manager, Dylan, is beyond reputable and trustable in his knowledge of wines, liquors etc
