Colonel Hart's

I stopped here for a couple beers and to grab some food because it was a bookmark. The place was pretty empty at lunch time but it was a Monday. The place is a good kind of dive bar because it looks old with lots of wood. I would have a summer shanty and a third space for my beer options which were ok on a lazy Monday.The menu isn't large but it has all the usual suspects as far as bar food goes and I would get a burger that comes with frys.I ordered the Good A Burger rare which is bacon, jalapeños and Gouda cheese just because I have not seen that combination before. The burger looked good with lots of frys. The frys were hot cooked to order and seasoned nicely. The burger was good on a fresh toasted bun and as rare as you could get with the thin patty that was somewhat juicy. The beef had a nice grill flavor that complemented the bacon nicely but the jalapeños were can/jar and not fresh.Overall I can't complain about anything because the service was good and the food was fresh and hot on a lazy Monday afternoon.

I've had Colonel Hart's plenty of times when my office has ordered food to go for lunch, but today was the first time I stopped there to dine in and I happened to have my family with me. My wife and I both ordered the turkey club sandwich, one kid got a cheeseburger and one got a grilled cheese.The kids like their meals. Yay. The problem is both my wife and I had mold on the bread for our club sandwiches. The bartender was super apologetic, said our meal was free, made a point to explain that they have more bread available downstairs, then asked if there was anything else we wanted. We both said no, assuming he meant something else while we waited for our food to be remade or a different item completely.Almost half an hour passed by and I got tired of waiting for our remade food, so I flagged the bartender down. Apparently he took us saying no as we didn't want anything at all because they never bothered to start remaking our food. Our kids were already done with theirs and were getting bored, so we just left even more frustrated and hungry than necessary. I was also super embarrassed because I talk up how good their food is and this experience makes neither of us want to stop back again. Guess I'll not be ordering the turkey club for work lunches anymore either now that it's clear they don't sell enough to turn over their supply of bread before it gets moldy.

What I love about Hart's is that is hasn't changed. I used to frequent here more often when I lived in Tosa, but just stop by once in awhile now.The decor hasn't changed at all, the food is still good bar food, the pizza is good (1/2 off on Saturdays and Sundays), the bartenders are friendly. Not much else to say but I recommend you check it out!There's a parking lot and street options when it's busy.

The atmosphere in this bar is always great. The staff is really nice. The food is actually fantastic. The only critique I have is the cheese curds are named nuggets and the beer selection could be a bit better. But none of these things will deter me from going.

Very solid neighborhood / dive bar in the downtown tosa area. I frequently go here and the service is very good, they have a good selection of beer and liquor and solid bar food and it's super reasonably priced. Lots of daily specials for both food and drinks.. They're definitely different from the other tosa bars in a good way - more relaxed and unpretentious. This isn't the place to go if you want an extensive wine or cocktail list. They have a small patio which is dog friendly and a private parking lot.

We absolutely love Colonel Hart's. The service is great, the space is always clean and they have super bar food. They have off-street parking which is a hot commodity in the village, and a nice fenced outdoor patio. They love pups so I always feel comfortable bringing Porkchop to hang out with us outside. Their burgers are awesome - and they have a ton of options for toppings. They have several side choices, and specials every day. Seriously, every weekend all weekend you can get half-priced pizzas!If you're looking for great food and a quieter vibe, slide on down the street and sidle up at this bar - you won't regret it!

Decided to check this place out based on a few reviews stating it's 'some of the best pizza in Milwaukee.' Based on the street-front, it actually looks like a pretty nice place. On the inside, however, you get a pretty standard dive bar appeal. Nothing against it, if that's your cup of tea. We came on a Friday and decided to split a pizza and fish fry. The pizza is basically the same as a Tombstone pizza that you could get in the frozen aisle at your local grocer. Pretty darn average. Beer selection was average as well. Average prices. Pretty much everything about the place is average with one key exception, the fish fry. We got the perch and it was pretty darn good. The fries were over salted and thus fall under the aforementioned umbrella of 'average.' But the perch, the perch saved this place from a two star. All in all, I won't return but if you live near the place and like dive bars with average bar food this may be your spot. Also pretty heavy on 80s soft rock, if you're into that. Pizzas are half price on weekends which should put them at about the same price as they are frozen at Pick N Save.

Ok it's been a while since my last review and confession. I like this place. They have check in specials from Foursquare and Belly. and Yelp. It's small, local, with great happy hour and people here are friendly. They have a Jukebox. a great selection of beers and Bartenders are quick on the spot. Two dart boards near the back door. And Pizza is made to order and some of the best I've had in Milwaukee. F 5 A 4S 4L 3 V 443/ 2014

Outstanding food and great people. You can go wrong for lunch/drinks here. I can't wait to sit outside this summer.

Really attentive and friendly service on a crowded night. The thin crust pizza is also very good.
