Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream

We were on our way back from walking around State Street and seeing the capitol and figured we'd treat ourselves to some ice cream! The inside was so cute and the amount of flavors had me overwhelmed I couldn't decide! Thankfully the staff was so nice, helpful and allowed me to try a few flavors! I decided to go with Country Cherry! It was creamy vanilla base with fresh ripe cherries! It was the perfect combination of sweet and tart- exactly what I wanted! The portion for one scoop was plenty for me and for the price! I would definitely get ice cream here again!

Good selection of ice cream flavors, small portions and rather high prices. Pretty busy on a Friday night but service was fast. Fair amount of seating available.

The storefront was in a cool neighborhood. Friendly staff and good selection of flavors. First spoonful was thick and creamy which is what you'd expect.

Came here for some ice cream! Ended up with my basic though always tasty combo of cookie dough and chocolate. Wish the chocolate was a bit more rich (would have gotten with the dark chocolate option maybe). Overall still tasty ice cream. Would get the apple pie next time, I tasted it and liked it

Fast service. Very helpful workers when could not choose flavor. Had good no dairy options for family. Very good. Has outside and inside tables. Very family friends place.

Minus charging me $15 for 1 scoop (a $8 charge then a $7 charge for some reason) - this place was pretty good! They tout being crafted in Madison, Wisconsin, with real cane sugar, Wisconsin milk and the best ingredients we can find since 1962! This location was an easy downtown walk! I got a kick out of their Exhausted Parent flavor (Bourbon-spiked espresso ice cream swirled with bittersweet chocolate chunks). It was pretty good but all their flavors lean a bit too sweet for me so I opted for cookies & cream because I'm boring haha. They also have an incredible assortment of free from - not just 1 or 2! So vegan/dairy free as well as egg-free, gluten-free, peanut-free, soy-free, tree-nut free. Kudos! Love that they have it Blue Moon Oat Cream (Just like the oat milk at the bottom of your Froot Loops bowl, this iconic treat has a unique, citrusy flavor and a quirky blue hue.)

Found this ice cream shop on Yelp while visiting downtown Madison close to the school while on a work trip. We wanted some dessert and it was a weeknight where they had a little street market and the streets were closed with tons of people. There was a line out the door but it moved quickly. Since the streets were closed then it was easier just parking in a parking garage and walking over. There were so many flavors to choose from that also noted gluten free, but free, dairy free which I really appreciated especially with all of the different choices. There was so much to choose from and I think I sampled a couple and just asked the workers what the most popular flavor was and I wish I remembered but after looking at the menu I think it was "this $h!% just got serious" and it was like a coffee base with chocolate bits, cookie dough, nuts? I think but it was really good! I got a scoop on a sugar cone. Fairly priced and delicious. The store was pretty big with some indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Service was quick and you can also purchase some tubs of ice cream to go. Huge menu. If you're looking for dessert in the area, this is the place to go and try!I don't think I saw any Wisconsin custard though.

I was roaming around in the area after having a nice pelmeni from pauls's pelmeni, and decided to end the day with a flight. Flight is a four scoop ice cream. This $&@! just got serious and fat elvis were my usual favorites and both I loved. snap-o-lantern was a new flavor I tried, and I loved it. Pistacho icecream had a good amount of pistachio in it. Pistachio flavor as such had a slight arificial taste to it. But still it was really good.

This place is nuts! This is the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. Super creamy, with a bunch of inventive and tasty flavors.

Everything you can expect of a great local ice cream shop and more. The Zanzibar chocolate was great and the chocolate dipped waffle cone was REALLY good. The sour watermelon sorbet was also incredible. They have a humongous amount of flavors + indoor and outdoor seating!
