We started going with our youth group from Emerald Grove Church Then we started renting it out for the weekend for our family and we had a wedding there too. I see now where it says permanently closed and I'm hoping not. We all would like to take our grandkids there to experience all our great memories.

This was a great venue for our daughter's wedding. It was a relatively small wedding -- about 80 guests -- but it was just perfect. We did not rent a tent, and were blessed with great weather. I would recommend a tent if you have more than about 80, as it would be a little tight. However, there's plenty of room for a tent. One of the best things about Camp Rotamer is that it rents for the weekend, and you rent the whole camp. We were able to decorate on Friday, use the facility for the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception, and then had Sunday to clean up. Several members of the bridal party camped out after the reception, too. The facility is definitely rustic, but if you decorate well, it can be stunning.

This private campground was the perfect setting for my dear friend's wedding. The ceremony was in front of a very pretty lake. There is a deck that can be decorated for the personal touch. There is a lodge with one bathroom stall per gender. The main room is just not enough for a large sit down dinner but great for a dance floor, dessert table, gift table, and buffet line. To solve the dinner issue, a big rental tent was set up just outside the lodge. Both the lodge and the tent had been decorated fantastically by the brides, families, and friends. Looks like there is a lot of freedom to make this space your own. This outdoor space has a fire pit, lake access, a playgeound, and room to run around. Only downside is if it rains, it could get muddy. Also, there is limited parking so some folks would have to walk from a parking lot quarter mile away. But it can be worked around with a golf cart or something.I was just impressed at the whole event.
