Cafe on Calumet

I love it. Today I had a strawberry stuffed French toast. And it was great I would definitely get it again.

From the outside, Cafe on Calumet somewhat blends into its surroundings and looks like, perhaps, at one point it was a roller skating dinner place from the 1970s. Do not be deceived by its exterior. I only noticed it because of the several vehicles parked in the lot. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, with a plethora of table seating and countertop seating. The aesthetics are modern. Cafe on Calumet is very popular with locals of all ages. For Mother's Day, they provided lotions to customers as a gift. Very kind and thoughtful. Now the food. I had a very hard time deciding what to order because they have a delightful selection of breakfast dishes. I opted for the breakfast sandwich, a "popular" item, comprised of egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, and avocado on an everything bagel. For the side, I chose cottage cheese instead of hash browns. I also ordered a latte without flavoring- they have a number of flavors you could add. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the latte was. The food was absolutely delicious and served rather quickly. The service was fantastic. Cafe on Calumet has a friendly, community-oriented, family-owned vibe that I appreciate. I met the owner, Courtney, who was expeditiously taking orders and serving food with a large smile. This is a great spot for breakfast. Pro tips: there is a specials board hidden next to the countertop - you could potentially see it if you come in the front entrance, easier to miss from the side entrance; although they don't make the cinnamon buns on site, they are a very popular commodity and sold out by the time I arrived. I can attest to the smell, though. Yum!

Good food and usually a good time when I stop there. Waitresses are always friendly and smiling. Food comes quick

Service is awesome and very friendly!! Food is always good breakfast is very yummy and so are their sub sandwiches but they usually only do them Thursday and Friday also the peanut butter burger is the best!!

I recently had a fabulous breakfast at Cafe on Calumet. The service was fantastic, always had my coffee "topped off". And the food came out fast and hot! Great home vibes. Would highly recommend.
