Cafe 36

Stopped by on a Saturday late morning. We were seated immediately and while our waitress was friendly, everything seemed to take a little while even though they weren't busy. But we weren't in a hurry.My friend had the Denver omelette which she enjoyed. I had the steak and eggs. While the steak was cooked to order, there was a lot of grizzle, so probably more than half of it didn't get eaten. Not sure it was worth the $23.On the upside, the hashbrowns were absolutely perfect! Portions were generous and it's a cute little place. It was quiet with enough parking.I wouldn't order the steak again or make a special trip for Cafe 36, but if you happen to be in the area, it's a decent place for breakfast.FYI: the menu prices are cash, for credit card payments there's a 3.5% up charge. The only mention of this is via a sign at the cash register.Also, alcoholic beverages were on the menu, but not available because they didn't renew their liquor license.

Home visiting family and lucky to have stopped here for breakfast. I ordered Moroccan breakfast for myself and Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter to go. The Moroccan breakfast was kofta, over easy eggs, and toast. The Mickey Mouse pancake was served with over easy egg. Only waited 10 mins for our food and the food was fresh, full of flavor and I wasn't expecting it to be that good living in the city of Chicago. Thank you, Cafe 36!

Great hidden gem , hidden away just off Hwy 36. Heard great things about this place, so we decided to try it out after church. Great decorative little cafe, with a little patio outside. No frills, just great food with polite, professional staff. Prices are very reasonable, and menu quite extensive! They serve both breakfast and lunch. Times may depending on the day. Definite return trip!!!

We love this place! When we visit Fluegee Optical, we always make it a point to go next door and grab breakfast at Cafe 36. Large portions, lots of menu selections. Small, clean, affordable and accommodating. Service has always been great. Really nice breakfast spot.

Nice little cafe. I stopped after doing some shopping in Waterford and had a very enjoyable lunch. Friendly staff!​

I love Sam's cooking. The dedication to quality, from-scratch cuisine and unique selections makes Cafe 36 a "must" stop when we're in the area. I should also mention the quality of the service. Very friendly staff.

Just the kind of place you need to visit! I ordered two carry out Thanksgiving meals and was amazed at the flavors and portion sizes we received.

I had written a one star review of Café 36 several years ago. Some time has passed and I noticed they were still in business, so I thought we would give them another try. I want to say we were very pleasantly surprised with the service, the food and the quality. This restaurant may be the best in the area for breakfast and lunch. I am so glad that we tried them again. I would highly recommend Café 36! In my eyes they are quite a success.story and they are definitely worth your time and money!

Always good food, great service and friendly people. We go there at least once a week for breakfast.
