"Service was amazing ! My husband & I are always up for experimenting with different foods & recipes. We were excited due to the fact that we were FINALLY going to try cow tongue...and we were not disappointed. We (I say "we" but honestly my husband did all of the prep & cooking) did a load of roasted vegetables & it was delicious. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the tongue tasted exactly like a beef roast. Two thumbs up! Thanks Butcher on the Block!"
"Whatchu smokin?, I said when I stepped in the place. He thought for a moment. Then he said, frankly, "Chaddar Jalepeno Sausage"I knew I'd just died and gone to heaven. Then I came back and ordered the Dorfler'. Then I was in hell. All the way back to the office.... Waiting to sink my teeth into the perfectly constructed beef sandwich.Pink waves of meat laced with onion and horseradish cheddar and horseradish mayo just for kicks.Kick it did.If I'd known it was rare meat, I'd never order it. I had to eat it and GD it was delicious. Can't wait to sample the rest!!!Look out."
"If I'm making anything authentic Italian, this is where I shop. The Poeta family has been here a long time and for a reason. They carry a lot of Italian specialty items that standard grocery stores don't. If you want fresh pasta or sauces or lasagnas or meatballs they have it!Aside from the huge selection of canned tomato sauces and every pasta shape you can think of, the deli is where it's at. Fresh meats and sausages that my family has been getting for years!Lately I've been making homemade pizzas and the only dough I use is here. If you strive to support local, please stop by and see this hidden gem."
"Very friendly and a great selection of produce, also I love there shawarma and lentil soup very delicious"
"Excellent sandwiches, wraps and soup at good prices. Caprese sandwich was dLish and I took a huge bite of my man's turkey jalepeno wrap and it was crazy good. Eat here McHenry! Oh...and you can shop for your week meats too. Bonus!"
"This is not a Red Bag Sendiks....though I keep wishing it was. Don't get me wrong; their selection of meats, cheese, seafood, produce, beer and wine are extensive, but I often feel like I can't find everything I need and have to go elsewhere to finish up my shopping. It is however a much better option than Pick 'N Save which seems to be everywhere out in this area. The prices are pretty much in line for the higher end grocery stores in the area. My favorite part of the store is their bakery dept. I have ordered many cupcakes from them for different parties and everyone loves them."

Everything here is always amazing no matter how packed it is. They're so fast so efficient I can't help but stop by every weekend.

Great meat selection AND great service. I bought a beef tenderloin for family brunch and happened to walk in right before they were closing. The butcher gave me all the time I needed to look, ask questions, and select the perfect cut of me for my family event. I will definitely be back for the meat selection and to try their lobster deviled eggs. They sound AMAZING!!!

In NYC I got a corned beef sandwich at a deli and it cost $25, I was a bit shocked at the prices but it was freshly cut off a hot corned beef brisket right in front of me and it was A POUND of beef (they weigh it). Here I paid $9 for a half corned beef sandwich and it had 3 thin slices of processed beef on it. This is McHenry...I am not paying for ambience. Go to the bakery next door instead, we got a bag full of pastries for the same price of my crappy sandwich.

My go to Sendiks since the Red Truck Sendiks took the bait, expanded and dropped so many (over 20 so far) high end items I would frequently buy that are no longer available. Love this place. What Sendiks ought to be.

Pricey but good quality. My favorites from here are the beef jerky and the baked beans. (Omgosh... these baked beans are AMAZING) My family LOVES the deli sandwiches. I enjoy the quality of meat. When I'm a pinch and I need a quick dinner, I go to the stuffed chicken breasts & twice baked potato. We've had them smoke a pig for us once and it was outstanding. So whether you're looking for a quick dinner to prepare or on the road sandwich...It's definitely worth going to check out!

An excellent place for fresh, quality cuts of meat.In addition to your usual cuts, they also have specialty marinaded cuts, stuffed chops and chicken, premium sandwich meats(Boars Head turkey) and cheeses. The staff is always friendly and ready to recommend a good cut for you. In the frozen section, the stand outs are the stuffed chicken breasts (specifically the cheddar and broccoli) and the deluxe double baked potatoes.A fridge area has the usual deli, coleslaw, potato salad, etc, as well as some fun olives and other crazy cheeses.Definitely worth a visit for any meat lover.**Assorted pigs parts for dogs treats! Maybe a little gross for some, but suck it up, your dog will LOVE them. [Just make sure to take the bone (if you get a foot or similar) away before it becomes a little shard/choking hazard/incredibly painful roadblock in the middle of the night.]

"Classic, locally-owned deli located within a butcher shop, attached to a gas station I come here for the deli sandwiches ever since Kenosha's well known local sub shops all closed. The fresh Italian bread along with their freshly cut meats and cheeses is worth a visit alone - none of the national chain sub shops could ever compare. The staff was nice and helpful, willing to accommodate special requests (I didn't have any but the people behind me did and they were nice about it). Can't wait to come back and try some of their meats."
"I was on the hunt for a Chicago style corned beef sandwich in Rockford. Yelp's #1 pick was Countryside Meats & Deli. Well, Yelp, you missed the mark on that one, but Countryside is great for other things.First of all, I tried the corned beef sandwich. It tasted like a corned beef sandwich I could make at home, and not in a good way. All the ingredients were fresh and appropriate but there was nothing that would make me want to leave my house and purchase the sandwich. It also wasnt Chicago style, but that's probably not relevant to most people reading the reviews.I also tried the daily special, which a turkey and bacon sandwich on a croissant. I liked it much more so than the corned beef sandwich. Again, simple ingredients, but the combination worked very well and I would likely get it again.Someone else ordered chilli and french onion soup and based on the smell I had to try the french onion. It is made in house and came with a small piece of toasted covered in melted cheese. The flavor of the french onion soup was AMAZING although the onions had not reduced enough.I would go back, but Yelp, this is not the place for a corned beef sandwich."
"I was on a hunt for a good corned beef sandwich in Rockford. Multiple people suggested this place.Any time I visit a new local place, I always ask what is the one item I shouldnt leave without trying. They told me the brisket and the burger, neither of which I was in the mood for. They smoke the brisket in house and the burgers are homemade. Maybe another day. They didnt have a Chicago style corned beef sandwich, but they did have a Reuben, which was solid, but not exceptional. Factoring in that it was only $5, it was exceptional. If I get it again, I'll probably ask for double meat.I'll give them another try when I'm on a less specific mission."
"Today I thought I would snoop around the south side and stop for lunch somewhere that I have not been to or have bookmarked. After taking a good look into the strip malls I spotter a sigh that had Bbq in it and did a U turn, Pakistani/Indian grocery, jack pot. I absolutely love these ethnic stores with a restaurant in them. It's carry out only but soon I'm told that some isles are are getting removed for a small casual seating area.I asked the super friendly guy at the register to see the menu and he gave me a sample of some new soon to be menu chicken to sample while I looked it over, wow that was delicious I told him. See my menu picture, it was hard to pick something but I went with the Seekh kebob roll and Qeema samosa that comes with two kinds of dipping sauce.OMG the Seekh kabob was the biggest I have ever had at what looked like a foot long/fat kabob rolled in store baked naan, all breads are fresh baked in the store I'm told. The roll was filled lettuce, onions, tomato and chutney which was spice and good, half way through I was stuffed. The Qeema samosa was very good, crispy fried shell filled with seasoned ground beef which comes in three to an order. Wow this really hit the spot for a for a nothing in mind lunch. This place is definitely a Milwaukee hidden gem and for being open with new owners for over a year with only one review with no food pictures. This was such a great find with tasty authentic food that definitely didn't disappoint today, great job today and I wish you great success."
"Just found this place and some of the best homemade and truly authentic Mexican food. Located in the back of the grocery store this place is a must for those looking for real Mexican food. Service was friendly and fast. Be patient as not all workers speak full english but still helpful. Food was excellent! Recommend the tongue but the chorizo and grilled pork were awesome. The guacamole and chips were made in house and generously portioned! Don't let the outside fool you, this place was awesome!"
"I've stopped at Ney's Natural Premium Meats and Sweets a few times over the past couple years, mostly just to buy packs of specialty brats. I recently had a chance to try their breakfast burrito and decided it was time to leave a review. In addition to the breakfast burrito (I went with bacon for the meat) I got a cream cheese danish and a maple frosted pershing donut. Both the cream cheese danish and maple frosted pershing were delightful and among the best examples I've had of both kinds of pastry. The time before this that I stopped I got their pink lemonade cake, which was also very good.Something about the breakfast burrito left me underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but at $10 I feel like I've gotten better value elsewhere. It's not overly stuffed and the tortilla isn't grilled, which I prefer. I probably wouldn't get it again.Ney's is a little unique compared to other meat markets in that all of their meat is pre-packaged and shrink wrapped rather than needing to be packaged as you're selecting it. They've got end caps full of cheese curds and sausage as well as freezers full of specialty brats (I like the mac and cheese brat), other meats, and homemade pizzas. I even saw a couple dry aging machines with meat being dry aged. There's a cafe off the main room for coffee and tea and the market serves breakfast Friday through Sunday and lunch every day."
"Now serving Indian food. The food is great and it is authentic. They have just started this menu and might have a few things to work out but the biryani was wonderful. Lamb (mutton)Biryani is our favorite and I think the hardest thing to get right for some places - but here, it's perfect! Everything else was the real-deal too. This isn't a high-end experience - it is take-away only and it's an older building. But, you know what - who cares? It beats driving 30 miles to Milwaukee or Gurnee to get a nice South Asian/Indian meal and this is a small, family operated business that we really need to support. So - great food, good service, a reasonable price-point - what more could we ask for?"
