"Was in town for work! Went and grabbed lunch at this cute cozy place. They have some neat decor with some beautiful birdcages. Food was Spectacular and service was friendly. They accommodate gluten free diets and take the time to ask questions. If I'm ever back in town I'll visit them again!"
"The most authentic pub outside of Ireland. Awesome food, great service and just an amazing place. The bar outside is awesome. Adams Ribeye tasted great. Wings are some of the best I've ever had. Well worth a visit."
"Dive bar atmosphere with a great late night menu. Stopped in for some drinks and decided to order the Reuben and mozzarella rolls (they come in orders of four, six or eight). we did 6, three Rubens and three mozzarella's. They were excellent! Honestly, can't tell you which ones I like better. The inside was packed and the outside was wonton, very light and crunchy. Loved the dipping sauce (nothing special... thousand island and marina... but they hit the spot!). Our waitress was excellent. Friendly, funny and supper cool. Had fun, glad we stopped in."
"An excellent place for a wedding reception! The wall of windows overlooking the lush golf course in the banquet room makes a perfect backdrop! Staff was very accommodating before, during & after our event. The guests I heard from said the food was delivered to all at their table at the same time. Food was hot, the veggies were crisp-tender, the tenderloin was perfectly cooked & the chicken cordon bleu was freshly made that day, moist & tender. Bar staff kept up with orders all night & even improvised drinks for those that couldn't decide. Great job!PS they even arranged for a shuttle service for guests staying at hotels in the area so they didn't have to drive to & from the reception."
"We went here for a Friday night to end February. It had a great amount of larger tables for 7. The waitress was nice. We got no appetizers but the corned beef rolls looked & sounded great. We all 7 got a Friday Fish Fry. Perch was mine & my fiancé's selection. I loved it because it came out in small pieces. I'd say between the Cod, Perch, Walleye, or Gluegill I'd say 1) Perch 2) Walleye 3) Cod 4) Bluegill but honestly couldn't go wrong with either. I rarely get a take home box but it was enough that I added my remaining 3 pieces into my fiancé's box. I love the baskets the fish & chips are served in. Very quaint to Irish/England Pubs. The marble rye was thick & large portions. Honestly, for $17 you get a great deal worth of food considering inflation. The waitress was even kind enough to bring an extra basket of fries when she realized they gave one of the guests Sweet Potato instead of Regular fries. Honestly, we ended up putting the extra fries into the 3 carry out boxes. The servings are great sizes!! There was also live music on a Friday night."
"What a lovely spot in Milwaukee's lower east side! Thankful they exist and happy to have them as my #ThankYouThursday review this year!We were in the mood for Irish food and while we have our favorite Irish spot, decided to try something different. Enter, County Clare Irish Pub.This is a lovely Irish pub and though casual, has a touch of charm that sets it apart from other spots in the area. I started the evening with a barrel aged negroni, which was spot on perfect. Their cocktail menu is definitely more robust than I expected and was thrilled their was a negroni on the menu. For my dinner, I got the grilled salmon with asparagus and whipped potatoes. In true Irish fashion the potatoes were both flavorful and plentiful. The asparagus was perfectly sauteed and the salmon was grilled to perfection and served with a dill cream sauce. The blackened salmon (which I didn't order) comes with asparagus and the grilled salmon comes with spinach. I asked if I could order the grilled salmon but get the asparagus and they kindly obliged. The service was kind and attentive and the prices were reasonable.Get to it!"
"My visit to Belfast Station felt like a whole experience. My husband & I went for dinner on a Friday night and it was great for dinner. The house specialties are very good, and definitely Irish! We sat by the dining area and the atmosphere that the fireplace brought was amazing. My favorite thing was the Old Fashioned I ordered, and trying an Irish dish with corned beef.Quite a charm spot in Sussex!"
"Shhhhhhhhhhh... Looking for a real hidden gem? A place where the drinks are well poured and well priced? A place where you'll be greeted with handshakes from the staff and patrons alike? Perhaps somewhere where you'll feel right at home on your first visit? McKiernans is as hidden as it's sister bar, Barnacle Bud's, but instead of being on the river it's deep in the middle of a tidy little "real Southside" neighborhood. Head in for a Guinness, a tasty Brandy Old Fashioned, or the daily special of 2 PBRs for $5. The welcome is warm and genuine and your fellow patrons are friendly. Add McKiernans to my "friendliest MKE bars" list along with Swingin Door and Camino!"
"My son moved nearby and thus I have been here for lunch a few times over the last several months. Usually somewhat busy on weekends, usually very quiet on weekdays. This is a big, nice looking, and comfortable bar! Tons of TV's with all types of sports showing. Something for everyone. Baseball diamonds out back with service bars out there too. The have a variety of sports leagues throughout the year. Softball, etc. always something going on. Food and service is always great. Large menu with something for everyone. Always served with a smile. Come out and try it. Maybe I'll see you there."
"Excited about a new bar/restaurant, love the Irish theme. They did a great job with the decor, especially the exterior. They also did a great job designing the restaurant area because the bar noise is very minimal in the eating area. Plenty of TVs to watch the game, but I think they all have to be on the same channel? I was not as excited by the food. We started with the Ruben Egg Rolls (they were excellent). Then I had the Irish stew, which wasn't bad. Here's the problem, I also ordered the Shepherds "Pie". The Pie was basically a serving of mashed potatoes with the same "stew" in a bowl. Granted it was doctored up a bit with scallions and corn, but essentially it was the same flavor.. only over mashed potatoes. To me this was not shepherds pie. My wife had a Reuben, it too was just okay. The corned beef was sliced deli type meat and lacked a lot of flavor. Not much value for $8 (includes a pickle, no side). 0 for 2 on the Irish staples. But is early, and not open for a short time! Room for growth!"

This was a sleeper surprise. The food was delicious. The beer was fresh and thirst quenching. Loved the decor, and all the good reviews are definitely verified by me. We had the Irish poutine, and I wish we would've each gotten our own. SO GOOD!! The food that was coming out, for other patrons, looked spectacular. I will definitely be back to try other things. No brainer stop for anyone that likes Irish pubs and food. Great job!!

If they have been around for the last 13 years I have driven past them over a 1000 times and I never stopped because it looks small and fills easily on the weekends was my impression. A coworker recommended this place for brunch so I got there before the opened for in front parking and the doors were open so I grabbed a table knowing that nothing will happen for 10 minutes. My impression was completely right because the place filled up in the first 30 minutes. This place has a lot of old school charm with wood floors, nice wood bar and exposed brick walls. I started with a Bloody Mary spicy which was garnished nicely, full meat stick and was good. The chicken fried steak sounded good and sounded house made so that's my order. The chicken fried steak was obviously a real one given the shape with two eggs, biscuit topped with country grave, house potato my servers suggestion and cute fruit bowl. My service was excellent by the way. The country fried real steak was nice because 99% are the frozen food service kind, it only comes well done topped with chunky country gravy. The potato suggestion was right on and complemented the steak, meat and potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfect sunny side up. The biscuit had that signature southern taste topped with more gravy. The fruit bowl is obvious a signature thing because everyone's meal came with one which was pineapple and watermelon, just a nice touch.Overall it's a nice brunch spot and I completely see its popularity because the food and service is great.

Yummy bloody mary, excellent tenderloin medalions, and great pasta. Service was good and fast. Only thing that could have been better was the cajun flavored pasta ..not really cajun or any spice. Reasonable prices and a nice kids menu. I really liked the variety of choices on the menu but the menu was hard to read.

About as true of an Irish Pub you can get, with cozy decor, friendly faces, and fine pints of Guinness. If there's something that makes it stand out from other Irish pubs I've been to (quite the list) is that O'Donoghue's has food that is not just "bar good" but actually good. We hosted a party in the back room after my son's baptism and couldn't have asked for a better spread nor could we received better treatment from Jamie the owner as we planned or service from the bartender and staff as we enjoyed. Enjoy a cold pint on the patio while it's warm outside or get cozy inside when it's cold, either way you can't lose!

My friends and I tried County Clare last week and loved it. I got the Chocolate Guinness, which was a Guinness with a shot of chocolate vodka. For food, we started with the Colcannon poppers--mashed potatoes, white cheddar, cabbage, and onions in the perfect bite. They were super crispy on the outside and came with the most delicious Worcestershire gravy. We also got a side of mashed potatoes and poutine, which wasn't our favorite but was still good. The real stars of the show? The Reuben rolls and the Reuben sandwich. So good. Our server was incredibly kind, making sure we had extra napkins and horseradish sauce since we couldn't get enough of it!For the end of the meal, we had an espresso-inspired crème brûlée, which was the perfect finale. The whole place was so cute, with vintage wallpaper and plenty of Guinness memorabilia. There was even a live band and lots of seating--this place would be perfect for groups! Definitely a spot worth visiting and I can't wait to come back.

We were so thrilled to find this gem of a place to stop by on our bike ride today. The wait staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a couple of beers, the wonton mozzarella sticks and pizza. Our appetizer came out quickly and so did our pizza. Great atmosphere. Come on a Saturday or Sunday morning and get free funnel fries with your breakfast order. Definitely a must to check out if you hike the bugline trail.

WOW what a great hidden gem off the beaten path, hidden in a quiet neighborhood. The inside/outside is kind of cool with an olden days feel with all the wood everywhere from the floors to the ceiling. This is not one of those bars where the staff and regulars make you feel like an outsider for invading thier space, everyone was friendly and welcoming. I like the bar lunch thing and today that's what I'm doing and this was the place. The menu is somewhat small but the options are well thought out with great choices that's not typical bar food, see the online menu. The grilled Ruben was the winner today that comes with frys or coleslaw. The bar has 7 taps so I opted for a Guinness since I'm in an Irish pub, cold and in a Guinness glass. The Rueben was the real deal hand carved, not the thin sliced deli meat that some places serve. The Rueben looked really good with nicely toasted marble rye bread. The Rueben was hot with melty Swiss cheese, nice thick slices of corn beef and plentiful sauerkraut. The corn beef was not super lean with a little fat left on for flavor. This was a good Rueben with just the right portions of everything, meaty but over top.Wow this was a nice place that serves a good lunch, see my pictures. I can't wait for the day when I find my self back over to try more of the menu, two thumbs up.

"It's an Irish pub (in the very name) that serves Guinness on tap ice cold into p-p-p-p-plastic cups. I shudder at the very thought. I know I don't look very Irish, but in the 1970s I accidentally found myself drinking with some IRA in Northern Ireland where we bonded over a common resentment of English imperialism and a post-colonial understanding of global politics. They taught me about safe handling of explosives, how to hide small arms, some sad Irish music, some sad Irish poetry, some sad Irish literature, and how to drink Guinness. It's this last part that made the deepest impression on me. I'm not advocating any of the violence, but I do think an Irish pub should serve Irish stout a little more authentically. Not to mention the waste of plastic. The waste of plastic might be a political statement, this is an establishment where red caps are common and nobody wears a mask, not even those with congestion and coughs. They do serve up some pretty good Mexican style tacos though."
"Short walk from Fiserv Forum. Excellent place to have a cheap drink or two before the Bucks game. Nice bar, multiple TV's, great service and good drinks at about one third the price your going to pay at the game or concert! New pregame hot spot for downtown events."
"This is a Milwaukee institution. Solid bar, amazing back porch on the river during the summer."
"Pleasantly surprised! Inside is more welcoming than anticipated by the outside. It is dark but but gloomy.Food was good snd pineapple drink perfect for a summer day!"
"Great Food, Awesome Service and Friendly Staff. We will be there again soon. Nice bar as well."
"Great local pub with authentic clean and friendly atmosphere. There is a definite soccer theme. Enjoyed the Sully's and New Glarus Oktoberfest selections on tap. There is a pool table, darts, and plenty of televisions to catch a soccer match or Packer game.Currently they only have frozen pizzas but according to the owner a kitchen is coming later this year."
"A great Irish bar in Menomonee Falls. Megan is always nice and attentive. The food is great, specially the comfort food. We enjoy their special events.Highly recommended!"
"Fine food & cocktails...was I at the right place? It's kind of smelly too. Sorry."
"It 11:30pm on. Sat night, I've been working 14hrs, I'm hungry...and what better way to quench my thirst and hunger than at an Irish Pub. This may not be Ireland but it damn good a small Wisconsin town in the U.S.They have a menu of about six sandwiches, a pasta, salad, garlic bread and one dessert. I don't know if this is the menu all the time or just late night. I had the Reuben and a Guinness draught, it was a solid sandwich with kettle chips and a pickle spear. The draught was a good solid pour. The service is nice and quick. The Kilkenny cream ale is also a good pour. The chocolate mascarpone cheesecake has a chocolate crumb crust, it's a nice light chocolate mouse like pie, its a bit sweet for me, but fine for a restaurant grade bulk dessert. It's a nice place, lots of room to move, good for large and small groups. I'll keep this on my short list for when I'm in the area again."
"As soon as I walked into Foggy Dew I felt comfortable. There was something different about this bar, although the clientele looked typically Milwaukee South Side. They were polite, kind and welcoming. The guy sitting next to me gave up his seat for my friend. I bought him a drink to thank him, but he didn't acknowledge it, probably embarrassed. That's typical of Foggy Dew. Nick was our bartender, and he was friendly and answered my barrage of questions. Foggy Dew will be a destination bar for me. The decor was unique, but the differences were subtle. I loved the fact the Dew was in a residential neighborhood. That added to its panache. It was a cool bar. I liked it. I think you will too."
"House of Guinness is a classic staple of night life in Waukesha. Dim lighting, dark wood walls and bar, and live music. This the perfect place for conversation, as you can actually hear yourself talk in here. Refreshingly, there are only a few (maybe two?) TVs in the place. They are only on for the World Cup, Packers game, and sometimes Brewers/Bucks if you ask, otherwise it's alternative music playing through an iPad. The taps are filled with imports, as well as some local crafts. The back bar is filled with not just Irish whiskey, but other impressive whiskey/bourbon. Oh, and since the new ownership took over their cocktail game has been strong, which is a warm welcome to Waukesha. Their cocktail menu shifts with the season and features their housemade bitters. The food menu is limited to Emil's pizza, Milwaukee Pretzel Co pretzel with cheese and mustard, and Pop's Kettlecorn. Oh, and how could I forget that they offer free kettle chips. For Packer games I've seen them offer brats or hot ham rolls, among other food patrons have brought in to share. My favorite thing about HoG? Whiskey Club. Come in anytime, get a sheet at no cost, and start drinking some whiskey/bourbon. The goal? Drink 40 different whiskeys. Along the way you'll get incentives, like a whiskey on the house, free pint of beer, etc. Once you hit 40 you're hand a button up shirt and are officially a member. Members have access to special meetings where the bar will be shutdown to just members for speciality tastings, classes and more. Oh, don't just stop at 40, there is an 80 level, and even a 100 level! For someone with little understanding of whiskey other than I like it in my old fashioned, hah, I'm 13 whiskeys in and I've already learned a lot. The bartenders are eager to share their whiskey wisdom, as are other patrons. If I had to list a negative... I wish the food menu was just a tiny bit bigger, as after three double pours of whiskey I need some kind of real sustenance. Perhaps something like a chip dip for the kettle chips and baked chicken wings, since they do not have a full kitchen/fryer."
"Enjoyed the drinks and food after multiple visits, but service tends to slow quite dramatically as more customers enter. Always enjoy our visits, but absolutely hate waiting for extended periods of time while our cocktails are empty on the bar top."
"Great time. Met some locals. Very friendly. Prices affordable. We were there to get our drink on,listen to some music and just chill. The owner's were bartending. Mr. Folley was gruff but nice to us. He smiled a lot and was attentive. The Mrs. Was nice too. They both pour a nice drink.Met some wonderful ppl...Eric whom is very outgoing and considerate with a great sence of humor was pleasant to talk to and truly made us feel at home. Tom, whom only comes in every now and again was such a nice person as well. Great conversation, good affordable spirits made for a fun time in the Irish Woods!"
"Anyone who follows me knows that I don't give out 5 stars very often because that is truly reserved for an awesome experience but today I'm letting one out. My first visit to this new to me restaurant/bar had some issues with my takeout order, it was all messed up to be honest so I called to let them know. Well the woman who made my order realized it just as I left and couldn't correct it so when I called she said that she took full responsibility and would correct it the next time that I was in the area.Today I was in the area and the bartender and her remembered my situation and I gave them the benefit of the doubt in my first review because they seemed genuine in correcting the mess up and they did correct it as promised. The woman asked if I had frys with my first burger and I didn't lie and told her no because I was not looking for any extra free items and she said that she would throw in a potato of my chocolate so I said sure.Today's order would be the bacon cheeseburger rare with the works and mayo. I love how they pack the takeout with some thought and place the food in separate areas like the frys in one, the basic bacon cheeseburger by it self wrapped and the cold fresh toppings wrapped separately so when you assemble this bacon cheeseburger it's not all mushy from the drive home. The works is lettuce, pickles, red onions and tomato's with mayo which is just how I like my cheeseburger topped. The frys were my favorite, battered frys that were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside seasoned perfectly, I'm sorry health nuts because frys need to be seasoned to be enjoyed. The bacon cheeseburger was cooked rare with a decent amount of bacon, thank you. When fully assembled with the thick cut fresh toppings it's an un hinge your jaw big burger to eat. The bacon cheeseburger was good and exactly what I wanted to fill my crave.Overall they honored their word and corrected my first experience and then some because sometimes I want a beer after work and take a burger home for dinner. Thank you once again and I enjoyed the perfect cooked bacon cheeseburger."
