"Kopp's is such a classic! I had never been to the Greenfield location before, but the building is so unique and cool. After a little research, I discovered it's designed in a modernist style--now I'm curious to dig more into its history. This location was busy, but what else would you expect from Kopp's? Everyone was there to get their fix, just like me.One thing I love about Kopp's is their flavor forecast menu, which changes daily. While my favorite flavor is tiramisu, it wasn't available this time, so I went with vanilla custard topped with bananas and cherry sauce. It was delicious! Feel free to steal my order--you won't regret it. (Pro tip: sometimes I switch the cherry sauce for strawberry sauce, and it's equally amazing!)The only tricky part was ordering. There are two separate counter areas with ordering stations, but the lines weren't super clear. Thankfully, everything turned out fine, and we all got our orders correct. I'll definitely be back for another treat soon!"
"This spot made me reconsider some big decisions.Christian McCaffrey goes #1 in most fantasy league drafts across platforms. But most people haven't had Kopp's.Rolling seven guys into an old school burger joint is a gluttons bread and butter. My eyes sparkled in wonderful awe of this menu. As I ordered, Carl made sure to offer a gauntlet of sauce options. He must've done his research, as the spicy mustard laid the foundation for other key players to excel.Prior to touching my entree, onion rings were gruesomely dragged into the aforementioned crown jewel of condiments. These things added a good two years to my life expectancy. Eating them brought forth sighs akin to a deep tissue massage. My stressors never stood a chance to these crispy circles of love!I breezed past this, but Carl and the rest of this crew were a machine. A beautiful noise. You think it's the hats?My final allotment of praise must be sweet. Normally butterscotch, banana or strawberry would get the bullpen call when a shake is on the line. But one elusive character caught my eye, marshmallow. I've heard murmurs of this albatross and needed to see for myself.Boy, was I taken care of! If this cup had hips then my hands were made to hold them. Sweet little thing will be seeing more of CJ awfully soon. Kopp's you're a filthy animal and I'll be drafting you first overall on Sunday."

"If you don't know about Kopp's, you're missing out! With all of the burger and custard options nearby, it can be hard to pick a favorite, unless you've had Kopp's.The burgers are made fresh and are HUGE! There's a few free topping options and then others available for a small charge. The custard steaks the show, however. They have two flavors of the day, each day, along with staples like vanilla and chocolate. They do offer free samples if you're undecided and I would recommend ordering one less scoop than you want since the portions are HUGE as well. A single is like a double elsewhere. They have outdoor seating which is great for in the warm months and limited seating for when it's nasty outside."
"A great ice cream spot with unique flavors for both soft serve and ice pops. They had everything from Neapolitan to Guava to tequila flavors. A variety of Hispanic desserts and snacks to choose from. It was pretty busy inside but quick service. If you're looking for a quick and unique dessert be sure to stop by :)Tip: Be sure to bring cash as there's a hefty card charge!"
"This unassuming little drive in makes a seriously great burger. I can't comment on the service, as the burger I ate was delivered to me, but I'm going to visit soon. First and foremost, the single hamburger is huge. I mean entire meal huge. Is it greasy? Of course it is. Just as the best drive in burgers should be. Looking forward to trying other menu items soon."
"It was one of those evenings where you need a quick bite and nothing is working out. My son requested burgers, my husband and I try to eat plant based, so we chose a spot that had both plant based and beef burgers and...closed. After a couple more false starts, we just needed dinner, plant based or no.Enter Big Deal Burgers & Custard. It was a warm late summer evening and we entered and the restaurant was also quite warm. They didn't seem to have air conditioning. That said, they had plenty of outdoor seating, so we opted for that as there was a nice breeze outside.I ordered the patty melt and cheese fries. The patty melt was ample and delicious with caramelized onions. The cheese fries were also delish. Our cashier was so lovely! She was friendly and welcoming. They don't really have any vegan options and for vegetarian options, they had a grilled cheese and I think some salads (obviously, I dove straight into some beef but better options were available).Appreciated the reasonably priced dinner for my hungry family!Get to it!"
"I love this place! They are mostly known for their frozen yogurt, but they also have great bubble tea, and cheap slushies. Service is always fast but it does get busy on weekends. It's a really cute place and I've loved it for years."
"Can we please get three cheers for dairy free vegan Fro Yo!?!? After a day on Bradford Beach this was the perfect cool ending to a hot day"
"No trip to Madison, Wisconsin is complete without a stop at the Babcock Hall Dairy Store. Located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, Babcock Hall Dairy Store is a must stop. Babcock Hall is home to the University's dairy research program. This restaurant is located in the building, and they make their own fresh ice cream and frozen creations. You can also purchase sandwiches and drinks here. I got a scoop of the chocolate peanut butter ice cream (rich, chocolate ice cream with thick ribbons of creamy peanut butter), while my husband got a scoop of the 175 S'more Years (rich, chocolate ice cream with a marshmallow swirl and graham cracker crunch to celebrate UW-Madison's 175th anniversary). The flavors were rich and creamy. The scoop they give you is HUGE! They are always creating new flavors, so if you go back there is always something new to try. If you are in Madison, I highly recommend stopping by and getting some ice cream at Babcock Hall Dairy Store!"
"Came here after dinner and was surprised that this place was packed on a cold fall evening (low 30s outside). It took about 15 minutes before I could order. This shows how popular this place really is. I tried a few samples and I loved that they carry Chocolate Shoppe ice cream- which has always been very tasty. It was reminiscent of my favorite neighborhood ice cream shoppe I used to visit in Chicago. Scoops has a large variety of unique flavors including coffee, classics, and my favorite: peppermint! They also had a separate case of vegan ice cream which is a nice option for the dairy-free community. What I found fun is that Scoops carries different types of cones as well. They had the regular waffle cone (dipped) and sugar/cake cones, and speciality cones made of an actual cookie. Plenty of parking and a very cute deck. Just wish it was warmer so I could eat my Scoops outside!"
"Okay, here it is: I don't love ice cream. Typically I think it's too sweet and too cold to really enjoy. That said...Babe's is great. If I had to get ice cream from anywhere in Milwaukee, it would be here. Their ice cream is creamy and flavorful. Yes, their ice cream is sweet of course, but it is not overly sugary at the expense of the flavor. There is enough variety here to likely satisfy everyone, along with a sizable selection of gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options. They are also one of the ONLY places that does a truly kid-friendly sized option. Like, just one small scoop in a cup. It's perfect. Of course, if you're looking for larger portions, they've got you covered with your standard delicious smelling waffle cones made in-house. So take it from me, your resident ice cream non-fan, Babe's is worth a try for sure!"
"LOVE Gordo's Bubble Waffles. It's in our neighborhood, so as soon as we tried it out, we inevitably can't avoid it now. It's become part of our Friday tradition - dinner, drinks, ice cream at Gordo's. I can't help but the get the s'mores buffalo waffle in a box, substitute the ice cream with chocolate. I intend to try different flavors, but for now, the s'mores is my vice. There are options to get a regular waffle cone or scoops, but if you stop by, I'd say it's definitely worth indulging on the bubble waffles! It freezes well too, so if you don't finish it all, you can save it for the next day."

TLDR - Kopp's is such a classic staple I don't know how I haven't rated it yet.Delicious! Portions are HUGE! Burgers are the size of your face! Always tasty the classic way with mustard, ketchup, grilled onions and relish. The restaurant is always clean, they have the same classic outfits from decades ago and the waterfalls outside and well known to young and old. The custard is on another level - so creamy and the flavors make you want to get seconds, thirds and fourths. I always love their printed custard flavor lists and seeing the giant size from the street, as it always draws you in AND makes you wanna come back for tomorrow's flavor.

We came here after eating some burgers and Sollys down the street. So we unfortunately didn't get to try any of their food. Only ordered their frozen custard. The customer service was great. Very friendly, fast and efficient. Pricing was fair as well. My only issue is the lack of flavors. They have vanilla, and chocolate and then the flavor of the day. Which was cookie dough. So in other words still vanilla with just cookie dough pieces. Regardless of the lack of flavors, it was still damn good frozen custard. Will definitely be returning to see check out their flavor of the day. You can also never go wrong with just plain ol vanilla.

Got a recommendation to come here while I was in town, intended to just come for custard but ended up grabbing lunch too. You can tell that Kopp's is a Milwaukee staple as it was bustling on a Wednesday at lunchtime. All of the workers had retro style outfits on, which matched the vintage (but not old) look of the restaurant. What I got: Grilled chicken (with "the works" + lettuce and pickles), 1 scoop of Swiss chocolate frozen custard What I loved: the custard! It was velvety and sweet, I don't have a huge sweet tooth so one scoop was more than enough for me, but their signature sundaes looked good tooWhat I liked: grilled chicken sandwich was good not great. It was doused in ketchup (you can't tell in the photo) which kinda overwhelmed everything else on the sandwich. The chicken itself was yummy, but I don't know if I'd order this again. Glad I stopped by Kopp's, but I think I'll try Leon's next time I'm in MKE!

This place has an excellent selection of ice cream and popsicles. They also have a great list of savory and spicy treats! If you're looking for savory, try an elote! Yum!If you, like me, enjoy your sweet with a little spicy, I highly recommend the Mangonada! With mango ice sorbet, slices of fresh mango and the tangy flavors Tajín and chamoy... there's nothing quite like it to beat the summer heat! Even the straw that comes with it is delicious. La Michoacana is located in a strip mall on Madison's West side. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but is definitely not to be passed up!

Nite Owl lets you step into Happy Days and greaser culture from 60 years ago. Oh, and the food is great.Nite Owl is one of those Milwaukee landmarks that is becoming harder and harder to find. Maybe Leon's and a few other spots have this feel, but it is special and should be adored by visitors and locals alike. From a high level, it is a burger and shake joint that is cash only, and across from the airport so you can watch planes land and take off. It has a 50s/60s Americana theme that isn't a theme, but actually how it has been since it was built. That's just how it always has been. The burgers are great. Made to order, cooked well, choose your toppings, and delicious. A little greasy, but the way a real burger should be, and exactly the way they would have been 60 years ago. Throw in some fries, and you've got a stellar lunch. Now on the to shakes and treats. The ice cream and shakes are also delicious. They have a large menu to choose from, and can be shakes or malts. When you are not in a pandemic and can actually go into restaurants, I would say eating inside is mandatory to get the full experience. It is filled with all the signs and relics of the past that people love so much. It is a small diner with only a few tables and booths, so there can be a wait at times, but it is worth it.Order some grub, enjoy the joint, then sit outside and watch some planes as you try to make out with your girl like it's 1957...it's really the cat's pajamas daddy-o.

Everything was fresh and hot made me feel special! Was a bit slower that I thought but I'm willing to wait since it seemed like they made it to order so I had no issues with waiting and it was worth it for the price and the flavor yummmmm! I went early at 10:30 when they just opened! They do get busy but it's a custard burger to order play so with it being that good ur going to wait some for quality food!

A 90° day calls for frozen yogurt, amirite!?Yo Factory is a great place on the East Side to enjoy a cold treat. They have lots of rotating flavors, including dairy-free and sugar-free options. From cake batter and pistachio to cotton candy and white chocolate, you're sure to find a flavor you'll enjoy. Heck, you can enjoy multiple! Like most fo-yo places, you start by choosing your bowl size. I believe they have 12oz and 16oz here. You fill it with all the creamy frozen yogurt goodness you'd like before ending at the topping station. They've got it all here... cookie dough pieces, sprinkles, gummy bears, diced fruit, broken up candy bars, cheesecake bites, drippy caramel, fudge... the list goes on! This time around I opted for a bit of the oat-milk-based chocolate + the Irish mint fro-yo combo. It was truly a replica of a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie and I couldn't have been happier about it. I also topped it with some crushed oreos and graham crackers to add some crunch. Needless to say, the cup was empty in a few short minutes! As of right now, Yo Factory still isn't allowing dine in - which is sightly peculiar since everything is self-serve and touched by customers - but hey to each their own. That being said, there are plenty of outdoor spots to sit and enjoy your cold, creamy treat.

"I have been thinking about the Peanut Butter Cup sundae from Oscar's for, well, longer than I care to admit. I dated a guy that lived in the area (more years ago than I care to admit) and we would hit this spot up fairly regularly. But I don't have much reason to get over to this side of town so Oscar's and their great food had faded into the recesses of my memory until I heard that vaccinated folks were able to score a free Krispy Kreme, and the only KK outlet in Wisconsin happens to be just down the street! But I digress.Despite the many years being away from Oscar's, it did not disappoint! The sundae was just as peanut buttery as I remembered it to be. And luck of all lucks, the burger of the month was that bastion of the few times we dined out during my childhood, the pizzaburger! The combination of these two items really brought me back decades, in a very positive way.The only reservation I have here from going with five stars is the clumsy process for ordering and waiting for your food. There just isn't enough room to do it properly and while I appreciate the rope line, it isn't effective and they should pursue some other solutions in place of their current setup."
"Cute spot in the Vilas neighborhood. Excellent Mediterranean food! I came here for lunch and enjoyed the hummus plate which included a salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, delicious hummus, and amazing pita bread. The pita bread was served warm and was so good. I thought the salad could use some dressing but overall a great lunch. I was there with my parents who both got the gyros salad that they said was great. It's their go-to order. It's easy, order at the counter style restaurant. The food came out efficiently and the staff was friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat out on the patio. They have nice shade covers, flower gardens, etc. It was very pleasant sitting out there. Note, there is no parking lot but lots of street parking available. And bonus, the patio is dog friendly so we had our dogs with us. I will be back!"
"After seeing the occasional check ins I finally got over to check them out on a warm summer day. The place is like a hipster kind of ice creme shop was the vibe I was getting from the decor. The place has more room than seating which was weird because the center of the room was open. The young lady who helped me was super nice and did a great job. There is 24 pans with various flavors which made it hard to pick but the mixed berry sounded good.If your used to the MDs 49 cent cone than you will shocked at what $3.66 got me on my visit. I was served a tiny plastic cup that was not even filled to the edges of the tiny cup and maybe an inch over the rim WTF, this is absolutely the smallest most expensive ice creme that I have ever been served and I felt completely ripped off. I went to look at the pictures on yelp and sure enough every cup I saw was way bigger than what I was served so maybe this was a fluke but it was there one chance for my first impression and it was not good because I expected better with all the good reviews.Honestly the mixed berry was pretty good but I was left not feeling satisfied due to its small size and I would rather have had the MDs cone because my cold tread would have lasted longer on this hot summer day.I probably will not return for a second chance when there are other cold treat options in Milwaukee where I know I will get a fair value for my money."
"Roberts has the best fish fry in town. You can get the 2 piece fish or 3 pieces with French fries or mashed potatoes and gravy, rye bread, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. Best deal in town. Also their Cobb salad is fantastic with all fixings that they add. My wife and I go there every Friday, we love it."
"Yummy food and great prices! Just took our daughter for ice cream and the hubby and I had a chicken sandwich and hot dog with fries, everything super delicious and fresh! This may be a hidden gem. Will go back."
"One stars are hard to give. So I gave two...but one was more on target if I'm honest. Came in here during July of 2020 while in town for the IndyCar race at Road America. First thing I notice is there is a line out the door. There are a few signs up about social distancing but then inside the hand sanitizer machine is out. The line is not 6ft apart and the staff is completely mask less and glove less. The staff was scooping ice cream while touching their hair and face but had nothing protective on. It was a bit disconcerting to say the least. I understand businesses have their own rights and obligations but even in non Covid times I don't want to watch a girl twirl her pony tail and then go to scoop my ice cream. I felt so uneasy and bad for the place that I just ordered a scoop just to give a few dollars. The sign for flavors is also printed extremely small and I felt rushed to order by the staff behind the counter. And the girl essentially laughed at me for wearing a mask as she giggles and goes "i cannot hear what you're saying". As a first time patron I didn't really get a good feel of what kind of fun and different flavors they had to offer. So I just went basic with chocolate chip cookie dough. I had one scoop ($3) and it was just ok. Nothing phenomenal. Needless to say, I don't think I'll journey back here the next time I'm in the area."
"Nice rustic restaurant and friendly staff. Owner was about and talkative. We were about to order pizza but were informed of the taco special. $2 tacos, beef or chicken so we went with it. Tacos were good with super crispy shells, typical non authentic style but a bargain! We also ordered the French onion soup to start. Unfortunately the lack of a bubbling and crusty cheese topping was a disappointment. Delicious and mild soup, served hot and the bread inside held up nicely. Too bad the cheese seemed like a microwaved afterthought."
"My sister and I stopped here yesterday on the spur of the moment, after having driven past countless times. We're sorry we've never eaten here before! The place is small but clean. There are a few booths and a counter. You order at the counter and the servers bring the food to you. The menu is pretty large for a custard and burger place-- there's even a few salads. We stuck with the basics and it was a good choice. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and fries and my sister had the fish sandwich with fries. The burger was very good, juicy and hot and fresh. The fries were super good, definitely fresh, not warmed up. My sister's fish sandwich was huge! It was freshly made, and she said it was excellent. Both our servers were polite and friendly, a bonus in these days. We didn't try the custard, but we want to come back and have a sundae or a cone sometime. Worth a visit."
"Great custard!!!!! They don't just add stuff into vanilla custard. They flavor the custard, give it real flavor!"
"Stopped in for ice cream on a cold and snowy night while visiting Madison. Delightful visit! Met the ice cream maker (maybe also the owner??) and got to try a couple of their amazing non-dairy flavors. The rest of the family had 'classic flavors' and all enjoyed. Ample portions! Highly recommend this cute and friendly spot."
"I'm so glad I finally found a good boba place close to home! The staff were so nice and attentive. They had a huge selection of sweets and boba! Def recommend!"
"Five stars all the way around. This is a favorite stop for our family after any school activities. We can always count on friendly staff and a clean environment. Bonus points for the giant Connect-4 game, ping pong table, and fun games at every table. We love the selection of froyo, and the seemingly endless topping bar. Currently, the price is .50 per ounce, which is a pretty fair deal considering our family always leaves happy!"
"Food is always fresh and staff is so nice. Love the inside and the menu options. Kids meals are a great deal."
"I saw this coffee shop on a TikTok and literally booked a flight to Wisconsin. Did I base the whole vacation on a coffee shop because it was just that beautiful? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Did it live up to the hype? Absolutely. We ordered the latte flight and absolutely loved everyone of them. From the moment we walked in the door here we loved it - the staff was friendly. The ambience is beyond beautiful, and the stained glass is just magical to look at. After relaxing and sipping our coffees and enjoying some pastries for a little bit, we took a tour of the outside gardens, which are also beautiful. Just an all-around great experience and I would highly recommend that if you were anywhere in the Wisconsin area that you make a point to come see this adorable coffee shop. It is in the courtyard of the American club, but it is open to the public so you park at the American club , walk through the front door straight out the back door into the courtyard and take a right into the coffee shop."
"Excellent local coffee shop discovered in the heart of Manitowoc's downtown. We visited as a group of 200 convertibles on a tour and were pleased to find:--Delicious beverages. It's a coffee shop. That said, the menu contained a bevy of wonderful creations. It's such a delight to see and take in a menu for coffee that's not standard!--Wonderful retail. This is a great place to shop for a little gift. For others or for yourself! We spotted unique, handmade soaps, candles, knitted goods, and other fun items to peruse.--Exceptional service. It's probably not every day this coffee shop gets bombarded with 400 visitors staggered in waves over a single morning. They were well-prepared, friendly, and handled us with grace, style and good humor. We had a lovely visit and will return!"
"Ordered a ShackBurger, fries, and new dreamsicle and tiramisu milkshakes for pickup. I grabbed the food and did a quick review to make sure I had everything and noticed the dreamsicle milkshake wasn't filled up completely which was disappointing. Most places it wouldn't bother me, but their shakes cost $6.50 each which I consider a premium price. If I spend $6.50 on a shake, I at least expect it to be full. I understand it is with frozen custard, but Kopp's in Milwaukee also makes shakes with frozen custard for about a dollar less and they serve you a full cup in bigger size.Their burger and fries are ok. Not my favorite in town, but decent. The staff are friendly as well. I just feel you don't get what you expect for their prices."
"Good coffee, good Wi-Fi, and friendly service. They have bakery goods from Madison Sourdough, a really nice touch."
"It may have been a voyage to get here but it was so worth it! There's lots of construction going on so getting here was extremely difficult but once I got here, it was so good! The place is small but is decorated in a cute retro style diner setup. The cashier was helpful and gave me her recommendations on what to get. There are so many options! I ended up getting the Flying Monkey which was milk chocolate custard and bananas with peanut butter sauce. Sooo good! There's so many choices so have fun choosing! I doubt there's anything bad here!"
"Amazing service and really enjoyed the overall experience. The gals that helped us were so pleasant and they take it the next level with their service. The pot roast sandwich and the ice cream shake were both delicious. We were even able to bring our 2 small dogs to dine with us since we were on a long road trip and they gave them treats. Highly recommend!"
"First of all, don't try to use the Yelp check in offer of a free order of French Fries with the purchase of a hot dog. "Cuz we are the owners and we don't do no Yelp." After working past that, the service was prompt and polite. And the food is actually quite good.We ordered a Chicago style hot dog with a side of sweet potato wedges. The wedges were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. And they came with a side of marshmallow topping!! The Chicago dog was a good representation. The onions wereslicrs small, and the celery salt was generous. Made for a delicious dog. Though I might suggest cutting the pickle into 6ths rather than 4ths to better fit in the bun.For dessert we had a dish of chocolate custard. The flavor was good, but the texture was slightly, powdery, almost maltish. (I loooove a good smooooooth custard. )We'll be back to try more things on the menu."
"Great service! Nice variety of flavors in Gelato. Very clean and spaces to enjoy a seat outside. They have something for everyone!"
"Sweet Dreams offers classic American fare and a full selection of custard. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was fresh and delicious! A thick, filling burger with fresh toppings. Sweet Dreams also has great custard. I've thoroughly enjoyed their hot fudge sundaes."
"I have driven past this place for years and I have it bookmarked so today I finally went over because I love me some gyro meat. As you walk up it is smaller than it looks and dated with a small parking lot.The inside is totally dated also and looks like a 90s hot dog stand with the old menu boards. It's so busy behind the counter with all the menus and things crammed in the kitchen area. There is purple booths and and wire table/chairs and it feels cramped. The menu is pretty big with everything from burgers to sundaes but I'm getting the regular Gyro because it's in the name. The Gyro was the over stuffed kind with out getting the bigger options topped with two tomato slices and tons of thin tender onions, the onions would be great grilled on a burger. The tzatziki sauce was two cups with an off taste. As I took my first bite I thought the pita was thin and fresh with that slight chew which stood up to the over stuff. The Gyro meat was a little disappointing because it was the crispy/dry and super thinly sliced kind, this is why I get excited when I get thick cut juicy Gyro meat from other places. When you slice the Gyro meat razor thin, your slicing the crispy/dry/crust off the hunk so there is no moist meat on the sandwich. I will admit that is some skill with out a deli slicer for consistency because all the Gyro meat was perfect thin sliced, LOL.Overall the Gyro was good but just average and not that knock your Sox off kind which didn't topple my Milwaukee favorite place."
