"My wife and I have lived in Algonquin for three years with our family of 7 but have not had the experience that is the sun shop.Today we ordered ahead via mobile order and picked up a large fry and the Al Capone sandwich. The order said it would only take ten minutes and they hit it right on the nose!The staff were friendly and engaging and very on top of orders as over twenty orders were being prepared during their lunch rush.This unassuming shop is easily passable when driving through Algonquin, but I cannot recommend it enough. The sandwich, which is their take on the traditional Italian, is the BEST Italian sub I've had in quite some time. What is crazier is the fact that their fries are even better! Whatever they season them with is the key.We'll be coming back time and time again. Only negative is their hours of operation. They aren't open as much as you'd think they should be with how successful they are."

"I stopped by the Dogg Haus last week because I was seriously caving their Rome Dogg, which is a Vienna beef hot dog topped with provolone, Italian Beef, and giardiniera. It's so delicious and probably my favorite hot dog! Yes, I would take a Rome over a Chicago dog. I also ordered a Chili dog and fries, which were both also delicious! The food survived my drive home, and the jus from the Italian Beef made the bun a little vulnerable, but that is to be expected. It certainly did not take away from the flavor and experience of satisfying a craving.The food got the job done, and I would go back again."

I love me a good hotdog, so the only acceptable thing to do was stop for one here. Some of us in the group are from out of town and never had a Chicago dog- perfect opportunity to give it a try. Let's just say 10/10.... I've been missing out my entire life! I loved it so much and completely forgot to take a photo before digging in. I was really unsure about all the toppings on this hotdog, but oh so yummy. The poppyseed bun was warm, soft, and delicious. Our combo meal came with two Chicago dogs, 1 fry, and 1 soft drink for like $13.00. Cannot beat these prices! The gal at the counter was friendly and welcoming. She was even willing to make us fresh French fries per my friend's request. When I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop here."

I've done a lot of restaurant/food research in my career as a restauranteur and foodie and have learned that atleast 75% of the time a person dislikes food or prefers a different variety of a food it's because of the texture. Change your casing Sammies and it will improve your business!And the beef in the Italian is subpar."

After working past that, the service was prompt and polite. And the food is actually quite good.We ordered a Chicago style hot dog with a side of sweet potato wedges. The wedges were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. And they came with a side of marshmallow topping!! The Chicago dog was a good representation. The onions wereslicrs small, and the celery salt was generous. Made for a delicious dog. Though I might suggest cutting the pickle into 6ths rather than 4ths to better fit in the bun.For dessert we had a dish of chocolate custard. The flavor was good, but the texture was slightly, powdery, almost maltish. (I loooove a good smooooooth custard. )We'll be back to try more things on the menu."

"We pass by Mochinut every time we go to Bayshore and we always drool at the sight of it, vowing to come back. Well, that day finally came! We came for a donut snack on a Saturday afternoon and it was definitely popular. There was a short line, which wasn't too bad of a wait at all. It looked like the donuts were very popular as most of them were missing, but were being replaced quickly with warm fresh ones. We opted to wait for one of these because I really wanted to try the Choco-Nana Granola donut. We also got an all-cheese hot Cheeto corndog because sweet and savory go great together!The wait for the food was probably around 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad at all. We picked a table outside as the indoor tables were all already taken. There is also a cute Instagrammable couch corner inside, but I'm sure that's always a favorite pick and usually very busy.The donut was FANTASTIC. It was light, fluffy, chewy, and so yummy. It had chocolate, banana, granola, and all great things. My only gripe is that it just feels too small for the price point. But as far as donuts go, this is very high up there and I would very gladly eat these over and over.The cheese dog was also similarly tasty. It was cheesy and crispy and paired really nicely with the sriracha mayo we opted for.Overall, a very yummy snack and well-kept place, but the price is the only deterring factor."

They have a two Chicago dogs, fries, and a drink for $12.95, and tons of other meal deals. Tons of options so everyone will be able to find something they like. The bosco sticks are delicious and a go to as well. And the chicken Parmesan sandwich is always my husband's favorite. We tried the chili cheese fries this last time, and great chili. It has that fun old school feel inside as well, with the old booths to eat in. Clean on the inside and quick service for food coming out. You just order right at the counter, so no wait staff. Tons of parking too, which isn't always the case in Lake Geneva!"

The reviews are correct, it is a small place with 3 tables and the food is delicious and the price for a meal is well under $10 dollars. I ordered the Gyro, and was only expecting the sandwich, but received fries and a soda for $6.95 or so. Awesome value and tasty! Although the fries tasted little like fish as they probably use the same fryer for many things, but they were really good. The menu is vast for such a small place, but I will be trying additional items in the near future."

"I've eaten lunch here 5-6 times, I waited to write my review to test consistency. Mike's is a small store front with big eats. The same owners have been here for 54 years. I even saw a front door picture from 1968 near the register. Mike's is a destination Lunch visit. Each time I visit the staff have been fantastic. They offer a nice big menu on the wall a variety of Drinks in a cooler, prices are very reasonable. Mike's has a nice menu of offerings and they deliver. You can get Chicago style hot dogs, chicken, terrific burgers, very good Italian style and Philly style sandwiches. One other item which seems small but i enjoy the reward, they have a loyalty program, 10 visits and the next one is on them. I will be back as I work through the menu."
