"This grocery store & Café has all of the things the hipster in me wants! (Check our the grocery portion for yourself - you'll understand.) The cafe is a very small, order at the counter, serve your own coffee, 4 tables total, bus yourself, dingy kind of space BUT it is totally worth it for the food. I came yesterday for the first time and I came back today because I want to try everything on give menu. The Tempeh Reuben was messy but delicious - marinated organic tempeh, sauerkraut, your choice of vegan or dairy cheese, vegan 1,000 Island dressing, toasted rye bread, and I made it spicy with their kimchi and spicy sauce. The flavors and textures were great and it was very filling. I opted for the Mac & Trees as my side which wasn't my favorite because it was a lot of carbs and I do eat cheese but still tasty. The next time I got the Bi Bim Bop to go (a Korean-inspired dish I like anywhere I order it, because Kimchi!) They use organic brown rice & organic steamed veggies. Their barbecue sauce was nice and tangy. I opted for the tofu (or you can choose an egg.) Nothing too special about their version, but it was definitely healthy, warm, and satisfying.I will be back. Anyone have a favorite I should try?"
"Have you stopped in to have some of the best sandwiches in the world? If you haven't, what are you waiting for? All of them are delicious. You may be thinking, you probably haven't tried them all, but I'm pretty sure I have. Koppa's is a neighborhood dream. From the banana tree, to the taxidermy and Jesus tributes scattered around, this place is a true jem. I come here for an occasional sandwich, ice cream fix and alcohol run. They have a great selection of beers and liquors. I feel the prices are fair for a corner store and the staff is always friendly! They are fully stocked with essential produce -- some of it doesn't always look the best, but it gets the job done if you are in a bind. Also make sure to check expiration dates in here as well!"
"If I'm making anything authentic Italian, this is where I shop. The Poeta family has been here a long time and for a reason. They carry a lot of Italian specialty items that standard grocery stores don't. If you want fresh pasta or sauces or lasagnas or meatballs they have it!Aside from the huge selection of canned tomato sauces and every pasta shape you can think of, the deli is where it's at. Fresh meats and sausages that my family has been getting for years!Lately I've been making homemade pizzas and the only dough I use is here. If you strive to support local, please stop by and see this hidden gem."
"This is one of my favorite places in town for authentic Mexican food. The tacos are made fresh and every one that I have eaten is so good. They also serve Mexican corn, ice cream and mangonadas which are all yummy!Definitely should try this place. It's also a grocery store and they sell fresh meat as well."
"I have gone to this place for many years for imported cheese and Italian sausage. In my opinion it is the best sausage. It is lean and flavorful. The market gets the sausage from Chicago. It sells out fast. I had never eaten lunch from the deli. I had a tuna salad sandwich on a sub bun. The tuna salad was made with olive oil and a mix of Italian pickled vegetables. It was delicious. I loved that it was made without mayonnaise. They also have other sandwiches made with Italian meats or vegetarian. I would definitely recommend it."
"Ordered chicken and pork tamales along with 1/2 pound Mexican rice and tamarind Salsa. Everything was delivered hot and well packaged. Rice was so flavorfully delicious! Tamarind Salsa was well done with the right amount of tangy tamarind sauce. I had better tamales before, nonetheless, their tamales were a great value for the money. They tasted fresh with good amounts of meat."
"This place is kinda weird because the parking is a multi level garage and the store is multi level also which is not the typical store with an elevator if you need one. We stopped here because the lady shops here and we needed things so it was an eye opener with the parking garage and no spaces. The place looks like your typical Metro but just arranged differently because of the small foot print on two floors. I saw a hot food bar, cafe, floral, wine section, liquor section, coffee shop and all the other Metro offerings. I anticipate shopping here more since the woman lives close and likes the place."
"This is not a Red Bag Sendiks....though I keep wishing it was. Don't get me wrong; their selection of meats, cheese, seafood, produce, beer and wine are extensive, but I often feel like I can't find everything I need and have to go elsewhere to finish up my shopping. It is however a much better option than Pick 'N Save which seems to be everywhere out in this area. The prices are pretty much in line for the higher end grocery stores in the area. My favorite part of the store is their bakery dept. I have ordered many cupcakes from them for different parties and everyone loves them."
"This place had expensive written all over it as I walked in but I was completely surprised at how affordable everything was. This store looks tiny from the outside but it enormous on the inside. This place has everything you would find in a regular grocery store and then some. A couple of things that I thought were unique, were the make your own pasta bar and the make your own pizza bar. Each one was $6.99 a pound, so do not put 3 lbs of cheese on your pizza or it's gonna be expensive. They will even cook your pizza for you for free but you have to give them 10 minutes to bake it. I've never seen this at any store. They also had an area for kids to play at. There was a 46 inch flat screen playing cartoons and a table with a place for them to draw and color. The only part that scared me was that this was right at the front door, so it's not like you could leave your child and go shopping. So it was a good idea but I didn't think it was that safe. There was a ton of fresh seafood, meat and cheese. I also saw deli sandwiches and a salad bar. So you could stop in for groceries or a full meal. I was impressed with the craft brews. The section was huge and there were so many to choose from plus most of them were all chilled and ready to go. There was also a nice selection of wine to choose from and a walk in cooler chilling some wines and cases of domestic beers. We also found a section of day old donuts. A bag of 2 was $0.85...that was a great deal and they tasted good. If you do decide to eat here, there is plenty of seating inside or on the outdoor patio. Plus do not forget about the free wifi."
"Love this market for the following reasons:-excellent prices (example: you can get a huge container of fresh basil for $1.99, the same price you'd pay for a tiny container at Jewel)-amazing meat, seafood & produce options -great variety of Hispanic food items & even some Asian items you won't find at your local Jewel next door-FABULOUS Mexican bakery in the back w/quite a dizzying array of goodies (you select & pay for those separately in the back)-FANTASTIC Mexican hot food to-go counter at the back (order & pay separately at their counter in the back) - a great quick dinner option when you don't want to cook"

I drove past this several times and assumed it was just a corner store/small grocer, until I noticed the sign for sandwich specials. I went it for the $3.99 lunch special, which was over by the time I got there. However they have an extremely large variety of sandwiches, many with funny names, most of which seem to be variations on common sandwiches with extra toppings. The names and the variety and the minute differences do make it hard to choose a sandwich, I eventually settled on on what appeared to be a variation of an Italian panini. The ingredients were good, and fresh, with plenty of meat. It was about normal sandwich size. It appears they just used regular sliced bread in a panini press. The extra ingredients in this case were sliced raw peppers, which seemed odd, but I wanted to try the sandwich as it came. They didnt make sense to me as an extra ingredient. It did seem like a small sandwich for the $8 price tag.Looking around, it at first appears to be your average small grocery store with a deli counter but there are lots of interesting details. There are recliners and lounge chairs to relax in while waiting for your food. There is a moose head. There is lots of quirky decor mixed in with circa 1960s corner store lights and shelving-- personally I prefer the retro, non-remodeled feel, compared to the rebuilt gentrified stores elsewhere.I didnt look at any of the grocery items, but there were some snacks at the register that caught my eye. The prices seemed a little steep and I didnt need them so I opted against.I dont know if I'd go out of my way for any of their sandwiches, especially at the price point. I'll have to try more and see if there's one that's magic. The one I tried was good, but not magic, and $8 for a normal sized sandwich. But still, this is way better than your average corner store grocer and I bet it's a gem if you live nearby.

This place is hands down the most consistent taco shop in Monona! Every time we come here we order lengua & asada tacos and they're always amazing! The place over all is busting at the seams with flavor and culture. Everything is fresh and delicious! We normally order food grab a booth and then grab something to drink en la tienda. All the staff are friendly, they're extremely busy so if there's not a clean space just ask them and they'll clear one off for you! Love this place! Treat yourself to a great experience there!

Omg !!! I is so excited to find this spot!! I loaded up on lots of staples! My latte is satisfyingly familiar yum yum. I can't wait to return for the sandwiches--- people are lining up for them! They are bustling behind the counter-- so I perused the art from the local artist Sharon Thomas, I am moved by pellucid style. I definitely will be supporting her.

We stopped here to pick up a few ethnic holiday needs but were sooo hungry we had to eat! And we are glad we did! My companions both chose mixed tacos and I being a bit more daring ordered the Chimichanga platter! Oh, boy!!! From what I heard over the Uhm! Good! The tacos were superb! However my order was amazing! Huge!!! I have never seen a Chimichanga as big as this! Divided it into 3 and still was too much!! The carnitas were tasty, moist and tender with pieces of chicharron to die for! We chugged all this down with freshly made orange, pinnaple juice.. Another delight! After our great lunch we did some serious shopping, fresh fruits and veggies, meats, etc... All reasonable priced and fresh! This place is absolutely a must stop in Milkwakee!

Ugh I can't seem to get fully on board with this Metro Market. Maybe it's because I don't frequent it enough, so when I do I really have no idea what I'm doing. It's that massive. Personally, I wouldn't suggest this place for a quick pop in to grab one or two items because you'll not only be getting your steps in but you'll be looking for said items for awhile!I recently went due to convivence of location on my way to somewhere. The parking is convenient I guess, as it's in a garage, but it's still a bit of a maze depending on which floor of the grocery store you want to end up on.At this supermarket you will however find everything you can think of. No shortage of options. Massive bakery section, tons of grab-and-go meals, good selection of produce, pressed juices, foods from around the globe, and beyond. Oh and there's a full bar where you can grab a drink and food. More than a grocery store really. I'd say on the pricier end for most things imo.I can see the hype but I can also see the gripe.

My go to Sendiks since the Red Truck Sendiks took the bait, expanded and dropped so many (over 20 so far) high end items I would frequently buy that are no longer available. Love this place. What Sendiks ought to be.

"Just stopped in this small Mexican/Latin American market for a quick carry out dinner. The man running the counter was very friendly. We tried the pastor, chorizo, lengua and carnitas tacos. They came in corn tortillas with onion and cilantro and a green salsa on the side. They were delicious! They have a few tables in front, so you could eat in if you wanted but it seems like more of a carry out place. If you are looking for some quick delicious tacos on the North side check them out!"
"This grocery is very tight and claustrophobic, but pretty clean and well organized. Good combination of South Asian ingredients, spices, produce, canned jarred and frozen goods. It's also a little veg "fast" Indian food place with some different dishes than the usual Indian restaurant in America fare. They seem to specialize in Southern Indian, the Chief of Staff and I were pleasantly surprised to find a very authentic tasting Chettinad vegetable curry. Around the turn of the last century into mid 20th century the Chettinars of Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu made little personal fortunes in finance and trade, they were a merchant clan-caste. Now scattered far from their homeland, the fascinating and beautiful Hindu-Tamil-Art-Deco architecture of their mansions make for a sad but still impressive ghost town. Their cuisine lives on, it's not spicy hot but rather sweet as the result of influence from the French in Pondicherry and spices indigenous to Southern India (chili peppers actually came from the New World, the Tainos who were killed by Columbus, so there's an ironic Indian connection). Too much information? Can't help it, I'm a sociology professor. So unlike the somewhat inconsistent version at Maharaja, you can get a pretty Chettinad Chettinad curry here. Don't expect fancy, the dining area reminds me of Southern India (less insects, cleaner), I don't mind eating here, but you might want to get it to go. Actually they also sell Indian tiffin here, you might have fun taking it home in an actual Indian lunch box."
"Today I thought I would snoop around the south side and stop for lunch somewhere that I have not been to or have bookmarked. After taking a good look into the strip malls I spotter a sigh that had Bbq in it and did a U turn, Pakistani/Indian grocery, jack pot. I absolutely love these ethnic stores with a restaurant in them. It's carry out only but soon I'm told that some isles are are getting removed for a small casual seating area.I asked the super friendly guy at the register to see the menu and he gave me a sample of some new soon to be menu chicken to sample while I looked it over, wow that was delicious I told him. See my menu picture, it was hard to pick something but I went with the Seekh kebob roll and Qeema samosa that comes with two kinds of dipping sauce.OMG the Seekh kabob was the biggest I have ever had at what looked like a foot long/fat kabob rolled in store baked naan, all breads are fresh baked in the store I'm told. The roll was filled lettuce, onions, tomato and chutney which was spice and good, half way through I was stuffed. The Qeema samosa was very good, crispy fried shell filled with seasoned ground beef which comes in three to an order. Wow this really hit the spot for a for a nothing in mind lunch. This place is definitely a Milwaukee hidden gem and for being open with new owners for over a year with only one review with no food pictures. This was such a great find with tasty authentic food that definitely didn't disappoint today, great job today and I wish you great success."
"Wow I have lived in Kenosha for 14 years and I had no idea this gem existed. I found this place while talking to a guy in Brookfield wi. It looks like any Mexican coroner store but they serve a decent steak burrito for six bucks flat. You walk in and order at the front cashier and she hands you a slip which you take to the back and give to the cook. There is no menu so I don't know if the burrito is the only take out food they have. The size was decent and I have paid more for less. There is little filler because it is all steak unlike some that are filled with rice. My only complaint is they give two small tubs of hot sauce which doesn't begin to last the whole burrito, it's like buying a suburban with a five gallon gas tank. Over all I give it two thumbs up. I will be back. Remember to walk in like you got this, order at the front grab your slip than go right thru the doorway and take a left at the meat case and hand the guy the slip. It's like the soup natzie, place your order and move on and grab your food and go."
"Large selection of vegetables but not all the ones you see at your general grocery store. Meat counter has a good variety definitely worth a look. Big area of snacks & candies that are unique. Friendly staff ready to serve. Kitchen household items too!"
"This is another store that I kind of found by accident. I had some time to kill before a appointment and just google searched HEALTH FOOD STORE. Village Market was closest to me so i stopped by.They have a large collection of just about anything one would need from supplements to essential oils and natural personal care products.I haven't tried their foods yet, but I did buy essential oils on several occasions as well as Dr. Bronner soap which is typically on sale every time I go there. It's a nice, open lay out and easy to find what i need.My only complaint? The customer service. They aren't rude or anything, just not particularly super helpful. They don't say hello when you walk in really and they don't offer to help you find anything. When I do ask for help, they are usually not too familiar with what I am looking for. They are very nice and friendly and it won't stop me from going back, but I won't go there expecting a lot of help."
"Triangle Market is a convenience store, conveniently located in my walking path and usually most noticeable when I've forgotten something essential like water or a much needed diet coke and I do not want to go out of my way. A bottle of soda is like $1.75, which, by my Chicago standards is pretty normal. Water is also priced normal. I've never had bad service. I walk up to the counter with my merchandise, pay, get change and leave. What I like best is the map and store rules. I am actually a fan of maps. I think our spatial capabilities suffer just a little bit every time we use google maps to tell us how to navigate while never actually looking at the map and where we are going. In any case, the fine cartography makes navigating 1,000 sq feet much easier. Plus if I were at all uncertain about opinionated whining or paying in large sums of change, I could easily look at the back of the map and realize that these things are not acceptable by the Clerk."
"Great selection but the prices are kinda high. They've got meats and fish there though that I've never heard of. The outside of the store is rugged... I'll be frank... It's the inner city, and they are in a food desert, but they offer a quality selection. Freshest meats around"
"I liked their cheese fries but that's about it. The "steak" in my taco was pretty gross. As was the interior of this place. And expensive for what it was! Can anyone say "food desert?""
"Just found this place and some of the best homemade and truly authentic Mexican food. Located in the back of the grocery store this place is a must for those looking for real Mexican food. Service was friendly and fast. Be patient as not all workers speak full english but still helpful. Food was excellent! Recommend the tongue but the chorizo and grilled pork were awesome. The guacamole and chips were made in house and generously portioned! Don't let the outside fool you, this place was awesome!"
"I am a chicken junkie. I have lived all over the U.S. and I can say without a doubt this is the best chicken I have ever had. The juicy flavor of this chicken has to be experienced. The skin is thin and flavorful not fat rubbery like most. I drive from Milwaukee to get this chicken. A little off the beaten path but well worth it."
"I love this market, attached to Beans & Barley's restaurant, so ridiculously much. If only 'cause it carries El Rey's Lemon Tostaditas Chips. And I am batsh*t crazy about them:If you have yet to have the pleasure, run, don't walk to Beans and grab yourself a bag. The seasoning has this indescribable uh... lemony tang, and the chips are sturdy enough to handle the thickest salsa or dip. Thing is though, they're delicious enough to stand on their own. When I bring these back to NYC, I gently nestle the bag into my carry-on luggage, like the finest china, to prevent crushing. On this last trip, I found myself musing to hubby, "I wish I could find a way to export these to Brooklyn!" I also noticed a new-to-me-at-least flavor, Chipotle Sour Cream. I regret not getting these too.Other than this, the market is fun to poke around in. This time around, I spotted Loma Linda brand canned meat alternative products, which triggered flashbacks of my former vegetarian days. And I dug the oven mitts with smart a** sayings on them, among other things.Bottom line: Don't even think of leaving here without a bag of El Rey's Lemon Tostaditas Chips. Just know you'll never be able to go back to eating Doritos again."
"Glad see janesville sentry up and going. Grandfather was a butcher for 25 + years for sentry!"
"Toy's is an undervalued gem in Sheboygan. The food is very affordable and very good. The restaurant space is tiny, with no bells and whistles, but the staff are friendly and helpful. There are meat and vegetarian options available to suit all. Impressive authenticity can be found here. Check it out."
"Excellent, clean, well-stocked, grocery store. They have many specials every week, and their meat department is the best in town. A little high price, but you get what you pay for. Fresh produce is also a Berkot's staple. Their deli department is second to none, and there hand-crafted sandwiches and sides are awesome. You can purchase the sandwiches at the deli and enjoy them while you take a break from shopping (they have a small dining area). Sometimes they get special purchases on bulk blueberries, and strawberries, which you can pre-order in the summer. Take a trip and visit and you'll find out why they are the best in Burlington."
"Very good local Mexican grocery store.Great selection of fruits and vegetables all super ripeAbout 200 Pinata's hanging from the ceiling at reasonable price.Very nice and friendly and helpful people work here"
