"We have been dining at Oakland gyros for over 20 years and stop about once every other week or so. Why you ask? Well, portions are huge, quality is great, service is fast and friendly and prices are very reasonable. I travel quite a bit for work and since there is a location near the MKE airport, my routine is to stop here, pull up to the drive through and place our regular order. This order contains the chicken shiskabob with rice, the beef shiskabob with fries and the fried eggplant. Note that I've had almost everything on the menu and have found that the 3 things mentioned are best for feeding my family of 5 (3 teenagers!). I honestly cannot recall a time where we have been left disappointed as they just do things right each and every time. Besides the great service, great food and reasonable prices, I truly appreciate the consistency as I know I am going to get a great meal each & every time. This seems rare and keeps me coming back time and time again."
"Awesome meal at Oakland gyros! Greek food is one of my favorites and after a long week of partying for senior week... it was a must! We got the chicken shish-kabob platter and the gyro platter and both were awesome! The gyro meat and the chicken were juicy and seasoned perfectly and the Greek fries were phenomenal! Whatever seasoning they put on the feta- I need it! The portions were crazy but good if u like left overs. Always a classic and a good time whenever I come here :)"
"New Favorite! We were on the hunt for fast casual greek eats a few months ago, wanted to try something new, and stumbled upon Brothers Gyros & Pizza. Our experience from beginning to end was outstanding. We entered to find the restaurant neat and sparkling clean. Though they definitely have fast casual vibes (even a drive thru!), when they discovered we were dining there, we were seated and provided menus. So, a nice touch that folks dining in don't have to order at the counter. They also bring your food right to your table--lovely.Their falafel sandwich is ample and bursting with flavor. Their greek fries are spot on perfect--not too much lemon, herbs, and ample fresh and flavorful feta. The service is warm and friendly. Seriously, what's not to love?Get to it!"
"Best gyros in Milwaukee area for past 30yrs, and no one can beat their pineapple shakes either!"
"Grillville is a family-owned local business that serves delicious fast-casual dishes of Greek American food, which includes items like gyros, chicken kebabs, pork kebabs, burgers, sandwiches, etc. I have been here once and had a good experience. The restaurant is family-friendly and offers good, fast service. The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and their menu options were reasonably priced. We ordered a gyros sandwich, a chicken kebabs plate w/ a side salad, and a gyro & pork kebab w/ a side salad. Our food was ready in a short time. It was hot and fresh tasting. I liked their gyro the most. Its flavor and texture were on point. The pork kebab was grilled properly as well. It was tender with a good char taste. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and yummy. The side salad with chunks of Feta was delicious. The creamy vinaigrette dressing for the salad added a nice touch. Overall, our visit was good, and we would go back for more. I definitely recommend checking out Grillvile."
"Four of us enjoyed a corner setting in the many-windowed Avli overlooking the city in an interesting way. Great spot for a date or a casual meeting with friends. Ten at a table next to us chose it as the spot to celebrate a graduation. It was a Sunday brunch so the menu offerings may have been skimpier than those found in a full Greek menu, but the choices were well prepared. Nevertheless, prices were on the high side ($9 for a small bowl of Avgolemono soup, $17 for a Gyro wrap with fries, $18 for a chicken Souvlaki-- 2 skewers). If you're looking for a traditional Greek restaurant fix with more reasonable fare, there are a number of choices around town including Greek family restaurants. One negative is the acoustics, which could easily be fixed by a professional. The ceiling/wall arrangements make it difficult to hear across the table. Service, however, was excellent."
"I have been going to this restaurant for years now and last year on thanksgiving I did my usual of going out to breakfast before cooking thanksgiving dinner like I have done forever and I noticed everyone around me ordering the thanksgiving dinner. So I thought that the next thanksgiving I would forgo breakfast for lunch and see why everyone was ordering the thanksgiving dinners with turkey because I next to never cook a turkey on thanksgiving. This is a nice Greek style restaurant and no dive. I did order a spicy Bloody Mary which was average which had no straw and disappointing because it's hard to drink a beverage full of small ice.Ok here's the run down on the thanksgiving dinner, choice of protein that includes turkey to salmon and much in between see my menu pix, bread basket, soup, choice of potato, dressing, gravy, cranberries and desert choice.I chose turkey, mashed potatoes, turkey dumpling soup and pumpkin pie as my meal only because I next to never have a traditional thanksgiving meal. The bread basket looked great because it had ciabatta style fresh rolls instead of boring dinner rolls, good job. The turkey dumpling soup was good but under seasoned like everything because it's cooked for the masses but salt is on the table. The dumplings were al dente and irregular which might be house made and hit the spot. The turkey plate looked amazing with gravy all over everything on the plate. The gravy was average and yellow while I prefer a more traditional brown gravy. The dressing was a soul food corn bread style that was way too loose/super wet for my taste. The mashed potatoes were dense with clumps letting you know that there real and no box. The turkey was excellent because it was a mix of dark and white meat, thank you because I like dark meat and it was real turkey because I had that stringy cartilage thing from the legs in my plate. All the turkey was moist and tender to my surprise. The cranberries were were skin in jamb style, not to sweet which I don't expect to be home made but did the job.Overall the thanksgiving dinner had pros and cons for my first restaurant in a very very long time and I can't even remember my last thanksgiving restaurant dinner. It's more 3.5 stars but 4 stars will be given because they executed a well attempt at home cooking most of the meal especially the fresh moist turkey and I might have a new respect for moist cooked turkey again. I had no service issues except that they were busy and my server did her best but couldn't give everyone all her attention, no harm no foul."
"In A Nutshell:-Ouzo Cafe is a nice Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown MKE.-I was looking for a healthy meal during this trip so I wouldn't get bloated prior to the triathlon.-I was happy to find this restaurant.-I ordered their shish kabobs which comes in 3, you can choose from chicken, pork or beef.-The greek salad was also very good, very flavorful.Overall, the service was friendly & attentive."
"I have been here to dine in, had food delivered, & stopped in for take out.The staff has always been friendly and wrap my to go soups with care.Chicken dumpling soup is my favorite along with their gyros. I have eaten here with friends and family and highly recommend for good tasting foods!"
"Let me be very clear -- I come here for the BLOODIES! Not saying their food isn't good just that my drive from Milw. is based solely on the desire to order their delicious bloodies! With that said, if you're looking for a tasty bloody mary and are in the area or looking for a 'hidden gem' off the beaten path, head on over to Jimmy's in Jackson, WI! Their specialty bloody marys are available on Saturdays and Sundays and feature the Greek God as well as the Cheesehead. If you're looking for a tasty meal and bloody all in one then both of these will certainly satisfy! What are these two specialty bloodies you speak of? Well, the Cheesehead comes with all their regular fixings (lemon wedge, cheese cube, celery, summer sausage, pickle, mushroom, etc.) but then also comes with cheese curds, string cheese whips, and a FULL GRILLED CHEESE! The Greek God comes with their regular bloody mary fixings (lemon wedge, pickle, celery, summer sausage, cheese cube, mushroom, etc), an entire GYRO complete with onion, Kalamata olive, feta cheese, gyro meat, pita bread, etc. with a side of tzaziki sauce! Lastly, you're probably wondering, how's the mix?! Well, IMO, the bloody is robust in flavor (this is what I look for) and, while you'll be asked if you'd like your bloody mild or spicy, keep in mind you can order somewhere in the middle (for this robust glass of deliciousness, I think a medium spice is just perfect). All in all, Jimmy's is a spot I'll gladly take a little weekend drive for a bloody mary craving! One more thing--how are they handling the COVID pandemic? Well, for starters--their outdoor patio has at least 3 hand sanitizing stations, all staff are in mask both when serving indoor and outdoor diners. I sat outside last weekend and we were able to watch the Packer game on a flat screen (yep, there's a TV on the patio) and they cranked the heat lamps on for us...felt like we were just at the Game! HaHA! Indoors, customers are required to wear their masks indoors unless seated at their tables and eating/drinking. Thanks, Jimmy's! The pandemic is no joke and our COVID numbers are way too high in this state so, cheers to you for trying to help do your part amidst such unforeseen times. Fellow Yelpers, tip 'em well!"
"Yummy food and great prices! Just took our daughter for ice cream and the hubby and I had a chicken sandwich and hot dog with fries, everything super delicious and fresh! This may be a hidden gem. Will go back."

Seeing the Greek Freak so it's only right to get Greek food. Before heading to the Bucks game, I had to stop by @oakland_gyros_restaurant. This place isn't just the best--it's filled with some of my favorite childhood memories. Growing up, I loved when my parents brought home Oakland Gyros. Everything on their menu is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to order. And the service? Top-notch. IYKYK

Easily the best late night bite on the East Side. I've only ever gotten a Gyro but they're always packed full of meat and fresh. Service is old school and always pleasant. Ambiance is Greek diner from the 60's and it's always busy from open to close. Never so much that you have to wait long for your order, they're incredibly efficient and kind. Must try before you leave the east side.

This place is a hidden gem. Their gyro meat is delicious. I get the Gyro Bowl everytime. It's enough for 2-3 servings. I always have leftovers. My husband and kids loves their Greek Fries. The staff is always polite. Service is quick. This took over the old Honey Dip Donut location so it's a nice spot in a prime location.

If you want a tasty and gigantic gyro supreme, you've found the perfect spot. I've tried the burgers, hot dogs, fish fry, onion rings and last but not the least frozen custard. It's a cash only business, so make sure you bring some, or you'll go home hungry. But, you can also use the ATM.

I had the lamburger sandwich and it was a good value and tastey. Turkish coffee was decent. It was in a nice area, not too busy, service was pleasant, sort of a hidden gem.

Avli, Avli, Avli.... I am so glad you decided to make the move up north and settle in Milwaukee. This has been my most frequented dinner spot in the city this year-- and I still can never stop thinking about that tzatziki! Everything I order is fantastic, along with service and ambiance. Some standouts are - pork souvlaki, baked chicken, saganaki, spread trio, Greek fries... just to name a few. I'm sure I'll have tried the whole menu at some point. Be sure to check it out!

Great place for breakfast. This has been a go-to for me for 20+ years. So I wanted breakfast after my mani at 2 on a Sunday afternoon and I came to the Omega, the ubiquitous diner offering a little bit of something for everyone. I also wanted to relax and read The NY Times for a little while.Originally a Greek diner, it appears to be under Mexican ownership as Greek food is replaced with Mexican. There is still an EPIC menu including staples like liver and onions s and plates of meatloaf and cheeseburgers. April is easily the friendliest and best waitress in the restaurant. She uses a lot of "hello love" and sweetness in her vocabulary, and should adopt a cockney accent. Her service was amazing - efficient warm and friendly. I wanted breakfast and chose my usual, the Greek omelette. There are 4 eggs in every omelette. It was dense with tomatoes, feta, onion and gyro. Nice little cup of yoghurt cucumber sauce. Crackling crispy has browns. They got my toast wrong but no biggie. Kept the coffee flowing.Great food, but the omelette was a little dense for me. I guess I shouldn't complain about a packed-out omelet!!!!! All in all, this is a great casual dining place when you don't want fast food and you don't want to pay brunch prices. My meal cost $18.95, 13.99 for the omelette and 3.49 for coffee. I guess I don't eat out enough- really, 3.49 for lackluster The ambience is 1980s Greek diner - well kept up - and very lively with many families. It was fun to be here alone because of the sound of laughter and friendliness around me. I used this a rare opportunity to read the Sunday NY times, Relaxing place to hang out.I forget about coming here because the pandemic got me to prefer cooking in my kitchen. I'm a great cook and breakfast is easy to make. But sometimes you've got to treat yourself and the Omega is the perfect Sunday spot. Thanks April - great job!!!!!!

It's been a while since I last dined in. The dining room walls have been redone and tables are now lined with white butcher block and cloth napkins with nicer place settings. The menu is also updated with a new items. The food is still as good as I remember! The Beef Souvlaki has always been my go-to here, so I ordered it for lunch today. The beef cubes were well-seasoned as always and the pita was soft and delicious, as well. Even the fries were good. These were well-seasoned shoe string fries, and they were perfectly fried crisp.I couldn't stop thinking about the Grilled Octopus on the menu, so I ordered it, too, and asked chef to slice it for me. It was tender and served in olive oil with warm and soft pita. Sooooo good!A 6-top reservation came in while I was there. Yes, they accept reservations, which I believe you can book through their website.I've been coming here for years and seen different family members behind the counter or in the kitchen over the years, which adds to the charm of a small, family-owned business, and also shows I've aged. If you haven't been here, or haven't been here in a while, come check them out!a little more upscale in appearance with a casual vibe.

"I ordered a Greek Salad and a Gyro Sandwich delivered. I accidentally ordered the salad and forgot the Gyro Sandwich and called and they were able to add to my order (Yelp shows to call grub hub but they were not helpful). The salad came with good quality romaine lettuce, olives, tomatoes, onions, sweet peppers, cucumbers, chunks of feta cheese and a sweet salad dressing on the side. Salad also included a warm pita bread. The gyro included onions and two tzikki sauces on the side plus a huge amount of meat. Picture doesn't do it justice it was outstanding."
"We tried to get into the St Paul Fish place....it was an hour and :30 minute wait. Walked next door and visited the Santorini Grill. This was the WIN for the night. Everyone got something different and everyone was happy we came here!! Not only was it legit Greek - the portions were insane for the price! The Spinach Pie was what dreams are made of! Thank you thank you thank you!"
"Nice little breakfast joint in Brookfield. Seems very popular with local senior crowd.....kinda place where one could easily become a "regular."Prices seem ok but with recent inflation, it's hard to tell. What is obvious is that portion sizes are large. The hash browns were a bit too crunchy (which is better than not crispy), and the corn beef was a tad too salty ergo, lost 1 star. The pancakes were fluffy and came with a nice mini-pitcher of syrup.Service was friendly and homey and prompt."
"My Dad and I checked them out on a recent road trip because it was close to the zoo and had good reviews. We were not disappointed--what a great local gem! The staff immediately greeted us. We placed our order easily. The menu had gyros, burgers, hot dogs and fried cheese curds (when in Wisconsin...) among other things. I went to the bathroom and to my surprise, our order was ready when I came back out. The portions were so big we could have split one gyro sandwich. I'm glad we only ordered one side of fries because we were stuffed! The gyros were delicious and not dry. I liked that that the cucumber sauce was served on the side because it can be messy. The fries were crispy and tasted hand cut. We loved our experience here & would definitely come back. The interior was retro cute with tin signs from old gas stations and license plates hanging on the wall and ceilings. It's connected to a gas station, but don't let that deter you. It's really cute and has a separate entrance. Was pleased that the staff thanked us and told us to have a great day on our way out. Even though I'm from out of state, I'll definitely recommend them to friends in the area or to travelers passing through Racine."
"First, don't expect fine dining. I stopped in here after having a couple of drinks. Didn't have dinner so needed to find something to eat before calling it a night. The bartender recommended this place as not much would be opened. It was a short walk there This place is connected to a gas station but in a separate building. It also has a drive thru window.A pretty good menu. But I went with a gyro platter. The gyro is huge. Hard to finish. Way too many onions for my taste but easily removed. The tazsiki sauce was good. Lots of fries that were nice and hot.The place was pretty clean as I ate there Pretty damn good meal. A little pricey, but I would consider it a good value based on the amount of food in the platter."
"I have got to say that this is the best Gyro in all of Lake County.Grew up in the city and I have tried many a Gyro after moving out to Lake County.Best tzatziki sauce. You don't get cheated on the meat with this sandwich."
"Service is fast and they give you plenty of food. Delicious, delicious. We ordered one chicken stick and it was enough for two people to eat. If I'm ever I that side of town again, we'll come back"
"My husband and I order dinner to go, staff was sooo friendly! He got a cheeseburger with cheese fries and I got the chicken Philly all were amazing! We got baklava for dessert. I can't wait to try more items on the menu. 10/10. We highly recommend it!"
"Recently, I was driving through the area and thought I stop for a quick bite. I didn't feel like fast food so I thought I'd check this restaurant out - so glad I did.Granted, upon entering this restaurant, the decor did remind me of many suburban restaurant chains, however, it didn't bother me. To me, the food and service what is important. I was greeted right away by the owner (I believe) and seated right away. The server had greeted me and went over the menu and the nightly specials. Within a few minutes, the server took my order, Hot Turkey Open Face Sandwich and a bowl of the Egg Lemon Rice soup. The soup came within a couple of minutes. The soup was nice and creamy. The soup was just delicious. I would HIGHLY recommend this. As the owner was seating another guest, I had complimented her on how great the soup is.Few minutes later the meal was delivered to me. The sandwich was just as good. Yes, I wish the potatoes were real instead of instant but it didn't ruin my meal. The portions were very good size. Like another reviewer stated.... You gotta love the Greeks! Yes, the server did check in with me throughout the meal while he was taking care of the other customers.I had decided to take a slice of the cherry pie with me back to the hotel. The slice was a decent size and very good. As I was paying, the owner gave me another cup of soup to go. That is GREAT Customer service. I was really surprised. That is one of the reasons why I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will defiantly return when I pass through Kenosha. Enjoy!"
"Great food and good people. What more do you need. As yes... Pretty decor(see the pictures)! I stopped in here twice while I was in Milwaukee on business. My meals were excellent both times and the people so friendly. The portion and huge and great tasting as well. The price are more than fair for the amount you receive. I am in Milwaukee again this week and will be heading back!"
"I have driven past this place for years and I have it bookmarked so today I finally went over because I love me some gyro meat. As you walk up it is smaller than it looks and dated with a small parking lot.The inside is totally dated also and looks like a 90s hot dog stand with the old menu boards. It's so busy behind the counter with all the menus and things crammed in the kitchen area. There is purple booths and and wire table/chairs and it feels cramped. The menu is pretty big with everything from burgers to sundaes but I'm getting the regular Gyro because it's in the name. The Gyro was the over stuffed kind with out getting the bigger options topped with two tomato slices and tons of thin tender onions, the onions would be great grilled on a burger. The tzatziki sauce was two cups with an off taste. As I took my first bite I thought the pita was thin and fresh with that slight chew which stood up to the over stuff. The Gyro meat was a little disappointing because it was the crispy/dry and super thinly sliced kind, this is why I get excited when I get thick cut juicy Gyro meat from other places. When you slice the Gyro meat razor thin, your slicing the crispy/dry/crust off the hunk so there is no moist meat on the sandwich. I will admit that is some skill with out a deli slicer for consistency because all the Gyro meat was perfect thin sliced, LOL.Overall the Gyro was good but just average and not that knock your Sox off kind which didn't topple my Milwaukee favorite place."
"If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this is not to place. If you're looking for a kitschy local diner with quick service and decent food, you're in luck. I've been coming to Sunset Family Restaurant for years now, and I've always had a pretty good experience. In all honesty, the ladies at the front who run the cash register and usher you toward your table are pretty cold. The servers aren't always super friendly, but you can without a doubt count on your food being delivered to your table promptly. Whenever I visit, I always go with breakfast food. You really can't go wrong with pancakes or an omelet. (The Denver omelet is particularly yummy.) But it's pretty annoying that you can make a whole lot of substitutions. Sometimes I just want a single pancake, but each time I've been told you have to order a minimum of two. One thing about this place to note is that the food isn't really worth the price. Is it yummy? For sure. But I would say the meal is generally worth half of what you're actually paying for it. Sunset Family Restaurant is most definitely a Waukesha staple. You'll get seated and served very quickly and the food is always good. But don't expect a five star experience."
"I have seen this place pop up on yelp from time to time but I'm confident that it will not knock off my fav, Oakland Gyros because no one has but I'm always open to new places. The place is in a strip mall on 27th St by Honey dipped donuts with plenty of parking. Here we go, the place is empty with only me so now I have absolutely no idea of what to expect and it might not be good. The place is bright and clean looking with a Greek looking decor, simple but it gets the point across. The place has plenty of blue comfy booths, blue walls with Greek looking art. There is a soda machine with a drink fridge on the other wall for take out drinks and a desert cooler with some nice looking treats. The menu is all over the place from salads to fish fry plates but I'm there for the bread and butter, the gyro sandwich. The people seem nice enough and my tray was ready in no time and like the commercial, the top of my head blew off as i walked to my table. Was I in the Twilight Zone and was that a whole bottle of the tzatziki sauce on my tray, YES it was and I could have as much as I wanted, super fuck#%g cool.Visually the gyro sandwich looked good and and perfectly placed on the pita, no sloppy put together sandwich here. It's not the biggest gyro but not the smallest and in that just right, eat a third of the meat before it can actually be folded over and eaten like a sandwich. I liked the thin sliced whole tomatoes vs the chunky fat ones by the way.As I like to do before any masking sauces go on I want to taste the meat by it self first. The gyro meat was tasty with a hint of garlic which I really liked flavor wise so I took a few more naked bites and yah it's tasty, I like it. The gyro meat was moist/tender/fresh not the over cooked/crisped crap they forgot about on the strand that some place give you. One thing I also noticed was that it's not the greasy/messy kind of gyro meat that you sometimes get. The tzatziki sauce was average and no chunks in it that I like but it was applied on my terms because I had the whole bottle to work with. The pita was fresh and had that little chewyness pull to it, yes I have to make up words sometimes to describe some foods. The tomatoes and onions were fresh and the onion was not the gyro for lunch and still in your mouth six hours later onion on my visit.Overall it didn't dethrone my favorite gyro place but it's not bad at all to my surprise and probably equally good in its own different ways so I would definitely stop back for a gyro and a little more of the menu for sure and I was pleasantly surprised in the end, nice job."
"Will Oakland gyros get dethroned today because I'm trying to dethrone them.Ok I have been looking at this place for a while now but the lack of good pictures and the small amount of reviews was not enticing to stop by but today I said WTF lets just go.First off this is a gyro/food stand with no dining area but you could stand and eat off the small shelf that goes the length of the street Windows, it's basically take out. This is a cheap eats kind of fast food stand when you look at all the prices. I noticed the gyros were being cranked out at a good pace so I saw I would get some fresh meat for this review. No it's not one of those power house meat coma gyros but it was not one of those anemic ones. First off it didn't look as impressive as Oaklands does. Before I slopped on all the cucumber sauce I sampled the meat and it was not dry but it lacked the depth of flavor because I thought it was tame but seasoned well, it lacked the gamey in your face lamb flavor for my taste and I love lamb.I hated the pita bread because it was tough and chewy and with the first bite I noticed that right away. The cucumber sauce was not as sharp as I like and mostly tasted liked creme cheese but it had a smooth, velvety whipped texture.Overall it's not the supper best but not the supper worst gyro and I will keep looking to topple Oakland gyros because I want definite proof that I feel Oakland gyros is the best in town."
"I finally decided to try Layton Gyros after a friend's recommendation. Very pleased I did. I had the regular gyro sandwich and it was delicious. I asked that the meat be extra browned and that's exactly the way it was prepared. I'm used to having to purchase an additional sauce cup at other gyro places. But not here. Cup is larger than others and quite tasty. Next time I'll get the Supreme size as I really enjoyed this gyro."
"Good Greek food and lots of options for a moderate price. Very quick service and friendly staff."
