"Sendik's has been around the Milwaukee area for many years, and this (relatively) new West Bend location brings that goodness to the hinterlands. This is more of a boutique grocery than a co-op, and definitely more upscale than the Pig. I love a store that has top-notch items in stock, is relatively easy to navigate (read: small), and where everything just LOOKS good. Civilized grocery shopping. Great lighting, well presented prepared foods, and sane, low-key marketing. Need some Gulf shrimp for that dish you just saw on TV? Check. Homemade sweet potato chips? Yup - and you should try them. Organics and health items? Yup. Not so healthy stuff? That too...Very helpful and accommodating staff. Good location. Great food."
"We ordered some prime rib for our Thanksgiving dinner and it was FANTASTIC! We definitely recommend them!"

"I've only ever eaten at the bar - every time I'm in town, after sitting at Leopold's for a couple hours with a book and a black walnut manhattan. The food is solid--I always get the spaghetti with marinara, classic and simple. But the ambiance is what makes this place a great choice. That, and Maya, the bartender, who is one of the most engaging, warm, and kind humans I know."
"I tried their new Cauliflower fritter from Gaza special and it was delicious! Their lentil is very thick and filling. I will definitely come back to try their other dishes."
"Visited this restaurant for the first time recently. Staff was friendly and my sandwich was very good."
"What a gem of a deli they have here in historic downtown Waukesha! It was Friday evening in autumn and my dining companion and I were on the hunt for some warm and toasty soup for dinner. We were in the Brookfield/Waukesha area and a quick search on Yelp led us to Rochester Deli. They have menus but it's an order at the counter situation. Unlike many delis, however, they do have a full blown dining room for you to enjoy your meal (they'll deliver it to your table). On any given day, they serve chicken dumpling soup as well as one soup of the day. I got the chicken dumpling soup, which was tasty. My dining companion got their soup of the day, which on this particular day was clam chowder. We split one of their turkey cheddar panini which has a beautiful spread of cranberry relish on it, along with the turkey and cheddar and made for the perfect fall accompaniment to our soup. The service was friendly and efficient and the dining room, though simple, felt cozy on a chilly autumn evening. Loved my first experience here!Get to it!"
"Guys behind the deli are always so nice and friendly. I love all the products they carry, always find what I'm looking for."
"My girlfriend and I picked up some food for takeout from here and we were blown away with how good it was"
"Horrible take out fish fry. We have gotten take out fish fry's at this Elm Grove Sendiks from time to time. Our very last time was this last Friday evening, October 16th, 2020. They keep changing their fish. This week it was some processed fake fish filet with too much undercooked breading which was served dripping with grease. It was disgusting, I had one bite then threw the rest in the garbage. Is no one supervising the deli employees at Sendiks in Elm Grove?"
"Friendly staff, good selection, and a variety of meats & cheeses that you can get shredded, sliced, or cut in chunks!"
"Had to stop here recently to pick up about twenty things. I was stopped by the well staffed deli counter person who asked me if I needed any help. I didn't, but I like that. It means they are on top of things and seeking to be there for you and to also make a sale. I talked with her a while about some of their food too. Very friendly folks.I think the whole store was well lit, had great selection and everything was marked very well. I was able to find everything I wanted pretty quickly.Parts of the store are laid out a little weird but not terrible. When I didn't have a Roundy's Card they still gave me the discount. That's great! and the way it should be. Not five star but pretty darn good for this part of the country."
"Stopped in here recently because my parents wanted ham 'n' rolls. My eyes widened at every corner, and I walked out with:- Frozen cod - Craft beer I've been wanting to try- Layton Ave's own spicy vodka pasta sauce- Beets, a huge assortment for very little money- Fresh veggies and fruitIt's a nice little family business, and I'll be back often!"

So, I still do most of my "regular" shopping at Pick'n Save because it's generally cheaper, but I do head to Sendiks a couple times a month. Their sale prices are in line with sales at other stores, but "regular" prices are typically a little higher than what you find at Pick or Piggly Wiggly. That said, the quality of their steaks, deli, and produce is much better than Pick. I do wish their meat department would offer the option of vacuum sealing their steaks when they go on sale (love their NY Strip)...some butcher shops offer this, but I guess I understand why they don't. Anyway, if you're new to the area, or just don't frequent Sendik's because of the higher grocery prices, at least give their meat department and produce a try. Oh, and their store brand Sendik's tortilla chips, frozen 4-packs of chicken cordon blue, as well as their natural honey roasted peanut butter are all delicious, and I often make a special run to the store just for these items. Employees typically seem friendly and willing to help, and checkout lines are usually very short. My one complaint would be slightly wider checkout aisles. Most people enter the checkout aisle ahead of their cart to place items on the conveyer. Then, slide around the side of your car to get behind it and push it to the bagger. This is impossible to do as the checkout aisle is barely as wide as the cart itself.

Second time eating at Fabiola's last night, and it was a delight again. We walked in and were seated as a party of three immediately. Pretty amazing for a Friday night, and we were appreciative. The atmosphere there is some of the best, with their cozy and comfy vibe. The lighting is low enough to create a feeling of warmth but bright enough to read their menu easily. Bonus points that the menus are printed on a paper that has a pearl finish, so it actually catches the available light for even easier reading. Attention to detail is definitely a big part of Fabiola's game plan. It carries through to the food itself. Our party had a plate of olives to start. Ours seemed to be a generous plate made up of castelvetranos in a delicious olive oil. We then had the rigatoni with Sunday gravy; the chicken Parmesan; and the eggplant Parmesan. All are very generous portions as well. The rigatoni has been consistently great; just as good as when we first had it. It will be a continual hit if they keep it up. The eggplant Parmesan was a heaping plate of perfectly al dente spaghetti with marinara and several pieces of delicious eggplant. I could not stop eating it until my entire plate was empty. The chicken Parmesan was a bit overcooked but flavorful, and the pasta aglio e olio was cooked to perfection. We were nearing the end of our meal when the manager came by to chat and ask us how everything was. He was so kind and courteous and truly interested in hearing our thoughts. When he heard that the chicken was slightly overcooked, he took the time to immediately go back to the kitchen to let them know. He then offered our table a complimentary dessert. In this day and age, this is something that I rarely see; but it just shows the caliber of establishment that is Fabiola's. They take care of you because they do care. Our desserts were a selection of the most delicious gelato, made right in Sheboygan, WI. Creamy but not heavy and bursting with flavor. Fabiola's is a must if you're looking for some consistently delicious Italian food in a lovely space with some of the most amazing staff and management you could ask for. You, your stomach, and your heart will feel good coming here!

Stopped by here on a Saturday night and enjoyed the experience. I ordered the taste of jerusalem pita wrap which was delicious, if a bit difficult to eat (you may want to grab a fork). It comes piled high with romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, falafel (pitch perfect), and tahini. I ordered it with feta added which added a nice salty cheesy kick. They don't have much in the way of sides. My dining companion got an Indian samosa for the side and I just went for some baklava for dessert. They also have smoothies (we just opted for bottled water). The baklava was made with walnuts (I prefer pecans or almonds--but the walnuts were good) and was sweet honey drizzled deliciousness. The service was prompt but they forgot both my feta and my dining companion's samosa (both of which we had ordered and paid for) . Fortunately, we caught it before walking away, so no biggie (but you may want to double check your order). All in all a good first experience!

Honestly the best sub I've had in a while. Yeah floors weren't the cleanest, but man was the sub f*cking good. Everyone was super nice too and my sandwich was ready within 5-10 minutes because it had to cook.

Favorite place to stop when I'm visiting back home. They have everything you could want and more. Make sure to grab lunch outside and check out their cookie section, deli, pasta aisle, and cheese aisle.

I've reviewed this place before and been back several times whenever I'm in Madison. It's just amazing! So fresh, so delicious and the prices are from like 30 years ago. A small sandwich which is plenty, will run you $5-$6. Nice little area to eat outside, staff is friendly and a true hidden gem.

"This place is the spot! You can smell the smoked sausage as soon as you walk in, so you know it's going to be good. Fresh produce, huge variety of spices, bbq, and hot sauces and then there's an amazing deli! The deli is filled with your typical deli salads and pasta, but the magic happens in the pastry section. All kinds of bars, cakes, cookies, brownies, you name it. Oh and fresh baked breads too! So glad we stopped here. A great deli destination for sure! Bunzel's is a treasure."
"My family has been going to Sendiks for over 20 years and we LOVE IT, and the staff has always been so kind.....but not today. At around 5:30pm today, we went to Sendiks to quickly pick up some necessities. The young lady by the self checkout was incredibly rude to my mother and I. Two of our items rang up wrong and we asked for some help. She told us to wait for it to time out and then walked away. She didn't say anything after so we thought we should just try a different self checkout register. She later came back and told us we were complicating things and needed to go back. She said this with a very rude tone and it sounded like she thought we should've known this. The lack of communication made our quick trip very long and frustrating. Also, everytime we leave self checkout, there is always some kind worker saying goodbye to us, but this woman just glared at us..."
"I have gone to this place for many years for imported cheese and Italian sausage. In my opinion it is the best sausage. It is lean and flavorful. The market gets the sausage from Chicago. It sells out fast. I had never eaten lunch from the deli. I had a tuna salad sandwich on a sub bun. The tuna salad was made with olive oil and a mix of Italian pickled vegetables. It was delicious. I loved that it was made without mayonnaise. They also have other sandwiches made with Italian meats or vegetarian. I would definitely recommend it."
"Rays always has the best meats, sausages, bacon, and even prepared foods. We've never had a bad experience with anything from Rays. And the staff is Alyse's super helpful. Highly recommend"
"Best sandwiches in Washington County; perhaps the world. Just a few minutes from hey 45 & 60. Currently enjoying braunschweiger on thick cut marble rye, Swiss, crispy lettuce & red onions, and spicy mustard. Old school and great. No room for indoor seating, but ample seating outside if you are hear during our 2 months of annual nice weather."
"I don't know why people have reviewed this place so bad??? We had AMAZING service!!!!! All of the young ladies working were happy to help. We had ice cream in bowls, with sprinkles & really enjoyed them. After we were done I used the restroom to wash my hands. I realized they were out of towels & let them know. They all apologized to me, all 3 of them working. The manager felt really bad. I said it's not your fault if no one tells you. We enjoyed sitting outside & enjoying the evening. Inside had plenty of seating & was very clean. Cute decorations hung on the walls the little I saw of them. We would definitely go back if we are passing through again!"
"The store was stocked well nice and clean. We were looking for dried shrimp to put in the gumbo. However they didn't have it but they knew what we were talking about. It was funny how we couldn't find or they never heard of dried shrimp in my hometown. The staff at Sendiks were very nice and helpful."
"It's been a while since we dined in at "Beans" - been doing a lot of carry out. Happy to say that our weekday lunch was fabulous. We were seated promptly and the server was great - attentive but not hovering. I got the classic stir fry with tofu and the curry sauce and it was better than I remembered. It's SO hard to find healthy/healthy-ish food in restaurants, so this dish was SO refreshing. Loaded with tender-crisp veggies and perfectly sautéed tofu, it was delish. The sauce was just a little spicy and not overblown with salt. My partner had the quesadilla and it was great. I had to snitch a few tortilla chips because I wanted the salsa and yep, it's the same salsa and just as good as I remembered. With all the chain places around, it felt good to support this Milwaukee classic and it sure tasted good too!"
"Stopped in on my way through for a healthier alternative to fast food. Man at the counter was very nice and gave me his recommendation but I just got a turkey sandwich with coleslaw. The food was ready in 2 minutes even with all of the tables full and the size of the sandwich was almost as impressive as its speed being made."
"I'm from Chicago and tried this place for the first time a month ago -- it was out of this world! Their cevapi is better than any in Chicago. I came again last week thinking I'd be leaving with one order, but my mom and aunt had a taste and we ended up leaving with three! Everything is made fresh on the spot and the owners are very kind. Will return for more when we are back (soon)!"
"Just opened last month so a lot to be forgiven. I'm sure they are told to be friendly but one young woman who says she was in training was so over the top she came across as phony. Not enough oil and vinegar on my sandwich but still the best of its type. Subway should take a few lessons here."
"This is a nice and humble sandwich shop near downtown Racine. There is absolutely nothing pretentious about this place - only delicious food made by an independent local business. Within walking distance of the marina, I hope the owner gets a lot of business from the charter fleet.Good food, clean and orderly facility, pleasant and conversational owner, a local business. Skip the sandwich chain stores and get your meals at The Captain's Galley."
"Neat and clean and lots of take home options. Delicious meats, pastas, sauces, desserts... everything you need to create a big wonderful family dinner."
"Stopped in to check out the store. They have a little bit of everything and staff were all so friendly and helpful! They have fresh meats, lots of frozen options, and so much more (fresh fruits and veggies, cheeses, breads)."
"My first visit to Jakes Deli was over 10yrs ago. I have traveled the country trying to find Pastrami as good as Jakes. There was no comparison. I used to live in Chicago and traveled to Milwaukee often just to get a Jakes pastrami. Now I am living in Columbus Ohio. Fortunately, my sister now lives 40 minutes away. I have visited her and each time we must make the 40 minute drive to Jakes. She too believes it's the best pastrami she has had."
"PROS: Clean store, healthy selections, good variety, decent prepared foods sectionCONS: Small storeI go to J&P for all my Asian ingredient needs. I really like how clean and neat the store is, compared to the other Asian markets in Madison. It is small, but I think that it has pretty much everything I need that I can't find at Woodman's. The produce is fairly fresh and neatly packaged, and prices are reasonable. They also have a selection of organic dried goods such as beans and grains, which is great. If you go on Fridays and Saturdays, they have a prepared foods section right near the entrance where they sell a variety of steamed and panfried buns. They're $1.50 each and they make them fresh throughout the day. They're quite tasty and a pretty good deal, all things considered. The only downside is that most of the store workers don't really speak English, so it may be difficult for non-Chinese shoppers to communicate. Also, there's a $10 minimum to use your credit card, which can be inconvenient at times."
"D & S Deli is a lovely little Serbian shop with just about anything (from ex-Yugoslavia) your heart desires. It's only a couple aisles wide, but you can find plenty of great products imported directly from the Balkans. Among other things, they offer canned pâté, bags of ground Turkish coffee, Kraš chocolates and cookies, Cockta and carbonated water, CDs, DVDs and magazines. You can also get concert tickets when famous singers come over from abroad. My friend and I both purchased some smoked meats and Bananko. There was another type of banana candy that the man working the place recommended. We liked it a lot and I'm sad I can't remember the name. I was actually surprised to see about five types of these candies and they were pretty cheap. It's even cheaper if you buy a large box!I mostly visit these types of stores in Chicago because it's more convenient and some of them have a larger selection; however, I'm very glad the Milwaukee area has a good place for people to go when they seek something a little different than the plethora of Polish and German delicatessens. My friends live nearby and were so excited when they found this. They made it a point to bring me here and I'm glad they did! I will probably come back and I know they will for sure."
"If you are looking for a great Southern Italian kitchen try Deli Italia. Whenever I go to Rockford I stop in for plate of spaghetti or a meatball poor boy. Homemade and better than Chicago."
"Best place to eat in Racine , no question It's excellent , fast, clean and the people are great"
"So, i hate using the phrase hidden gem, and i try not to use it. But this is EXACTLY what Merton Sub Company is. Located in the old Merton Fire Dept. building in the town of Merton is an excellent sandwich place. I heard about this place from a co-worker a couple of years ago and never made time to try it out, but upon moving to the area i had some time and have had the chance to try it twice and it's was awesome both times. The owner is super friendly prices are right and portions are good. using what seems like only fresh ingredients. If you're ever in the area slow down cause you might miss it and give Merton Sub Co. a try. you won't be disappointed."
"Great!!!! Everything about this place is exceptional. In the middle of nowhere but I'll be back. Friendly service. I'm living the keto lifestyle so the meat and cheese plate tickled my fancy more then the local competitors. Pick your own sandwich for the rest of the family. Thank you for the great experience. I will be back and will be spreading the news."
"A very good sandwich shop, small inside with limited seating. They make some creative twists on sandwiches, as well as most standard fare. My favorite item on the menu is the home chips with dill sauce. Get them every time I order from here.I can personally vouch for the turkey blt, the tuna salad sandwich, the chicken Parm, the Italian, and the Hometown Roast Beef w/ horseradish sauce. All of these are great, and I've ordered each several times . My wife's fave is the loaded grilled cheese.I've tried the chili, the fried chicken (deli sliced, a unique take) and bacon, the Cuban, the Reuben, and their burgers. All items good, but not as much my personal taste as the first list.As you can see, I've been going here for a few years, so I suppose I vouch for Breaking Bread."
"The Keto Salad was fantastic! Chock full of chicken, bacon, eggs and avocado. Super fresh and fast/polite service. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu!"
