Also, went ahead and ordered the ahi poke, which was super fresh! Spam Musubi (not pictured) took me right back to 7/11 IYKYK. Emphasis on BBQ and Cajun, but have some wonderful alternatives. On this visit, we had lamb with Greek potatoes and milk thistle greens, along with oysters Rockefeller and cornbread; all of which was outstanding. Most impressive is the friendly owner Dino who is passionate, engaging and dispenses wisdom from his many experiences. Love the homey and welcoming atmosphere."

Each entree is served with fresh homemade coleslaw and a diner's choice of side. Our sides were steamed broccoli, Double baked potato and house steak fries. I also tried the yuzu beez specialty cocktail and really enjoyed it! Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. The service this visit was a little off. The food came out quickly. But our server was not very present as you would normally expect. Could be an off night. One other thing to note. We had a party of 6. It is not unusual to see a gratuity added for a party our size, and it was. But what was unusual was it was listed on the bill as a "service charge". That was unusual to me so I asked about it and was advised that it was a gratuity. I wasn't upset about it. But I would prefer to see it listed as a gratuity. Regardless, we will be back for the amazing food!"

Jeff M. "I've certainly enjoyed a Saz's sampler or two during Summerfest but I don't think I've formally dined in at their State House location until now.Saw that they have been around since 1976 (nearly 50 years! ) - I didn't realize they were THAT old, but I love to see restaurants that have been around for decades. The architecture/decor was certainly a more classic feel (not sure I would have guessed as far back as the 70's though) - has that "old Milwaukee" charm to it.Of course, we ordered their cheese curds - 'cause, how could we not?Now... I'm 90% sure the chalkboard promoted the "Beast Burger" - it was definitely the burger of the month for January and had, I want to say, 4(?) animals to make up the protein of the burger. It had me really intrigued, so I went with it. Needless to say, I left just beyond the line of comfortably full.I'll need to return to try other regular menu items, since I'll likely not luck out to get a Beast Burger on my next visit."

Harvey X. "Moving to Madison from Austin, we miss the BBQ we were used to in Texas. This a go-to spot for Southern comfort food and BBQ. The food is good and the menu expansive -- plus the management is extremely hands-on and responsive. We had an order of one of the rib options that was unexpectedly tough and not what was expected and when the floor manager came over to ask how our meal was, and heard this, he had a replacement order of a better quality of ribs brought to us gratis and scrubbed the original order from the bill. That wasn't asked for, he did it to be gracious -- these folks go out of their way to keep a customer happy and coming back (and we will!). Thanks much!PS: They know how to serve catfish here. That is not always a given, esp. up in the North. The catfish appetizer bites are something I always order. If catfish was on the taco option list, that would be even better!"

"Grillville is a family-owned local business that serves delicious fast-casual dishes of Greek American food, which includes items like gyros, chicken kebabs, pork kebabs, burgers, sandwiches, etc. I have been here once and had a good experience. The restaurant is family-friendly and offers good, fast service. The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and their menu options were reasonably priced. We ordered a gyros sandwich, a chicken kebabs plate w/ a side salad, and a gyro & pork kebab w/ a side salad. Our food was ready in a short time. It was hot and fresh tasting. I liked their gyro the most. Its flavor and texture were on point. The pork kebab was grilled properly as well. It was tender with a good char taste. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and yummy. The side salad with chunks of Feta was delicious. The creamy vinaigrette dressing for the salad added a nice touch. Overall, our visit was good, and we would go back for more. I definitely recommend checking out Grillvile."

Jason H. "A decent spot in this area.I'll say it up front - It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Visiting during a weeknight for dinner, I selected the brisket. It wasn't impressive. I love a good brisket and this was subpar at best. The best way to describe it is that it just didn't taste like a fresh brisket that was smoked that day and sliced to order. Maybe it was, but it did not look or taste like it. It had almost a jerky or bacon type texture and feel to it, if that makes sense. It wasn't tough or chewy but rather drier. Not dry, like how brisket can sometimes be dry, but more so dried out. Like it had been sliced thinly and sitting out for a while. The ambiance and service was good. No complaints there. Overall, we did have a nice time. I simply didn't care for what I ordered.Would I go back? Possibly. This was a dinner during a work related trip. I am certain that I'll be back in the area so stopping in again isn't completely out of the question. However, I may look around to see what else is in the vicinity."

After a long long week and not wanting to cook, you need a no-frills place where you can kick off your shoes, not be faced with stares or obnoxious customers... You just want to eat and drink and be merry with good company. Speaking of the food, the meat tastes fresh; Best pork rinds ever; Typically do not like sauces and add-ons but these housemade ones are great (my top three ranked in the photo). Since you order food at the bar (which is not a plus for me but I can see why this business runs/has to run this way) and we had many questions for our first time, we appreciate the bartender's patience--and simply having style and knowing how to serve customers. Afterwards, I was craving something sweet--maybe a light, acid-kind of dessert to cut through all the meat and drinks? like a moussy chocolate or something citrusy? I didn't see a sweet-tooth menu but this place is a def def return. Can't wait to try out the other menu items."

Lena C. "I love dark bars. Any bar you can walk into at 3pm and it seems like it's night out, I'm a fan. Better yet, there's a huge rounded bar in the center, with regulars, bartenders who've worked there for years, cheap drinks, and bar food-- that's as good as it gets. So yeah I'm dropping the 5 star for little dark divey gem. I saw some other reviews of this as more of a restaurant first, but it seemed to me like a bar first, with food options. First thing to note- cash only! Like many places we found in Milwaukee, no cards. The drinks, insanely reasonable drink prices especially if you catch the M-F happy hour (4-7) with $2.50 wells & domestic bottles. There's were other deals on different days, like a ladies night and weekend specials, but I didn't catch them since we were there on a Friday happy hour. The food, a kitchen in the back that's putting out some of the best Americans-greasy-spoon-bar food. We ordered the BBQ meatloaf sammie with potato salad and a grilled cheese with fries. The BBQ meatloaf was like a homemade mcrib but better - a thick slice of meatloaf, covered in bbq sauce. The grilled cheese was just your basic no-frills grilled cheese, but also amazing. No fancy cheese, just yellow American on buttery white bread perfection. The staff were also great. We rolled up with lots and lots of us for a pre-show meetup and the bartenders didn't miss a beat. They were all super nice and hustled to get everyone all their drinks."

I also like the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza, but it's just not as amazing as the Tandoori. The vegetable samosas are also incredible! I firmly believe he may have been talking about these masala fries.Chicken biryani is also good - it is a very large portion but was not as much chicken as I would have expected.Last time I ordered the BBQ combo platter, which was a sampler of their different meats. Bobb S. "When we walked in last night, we were lucky to grab the last open table. The setup is a little confusing for the first time diner. We received 4 sheets of the menu-each sheet having different items for you to choose from (for instance, there is a sheet to build your own soup bowl). Simply mark what you want and give it to the waiter/waitress when they return. There is ALOT on the menu so choosing something can be a daunting task. As many of the tables were filled with soup bowls, my girlfriend opted for that as I went with the Beef Chow Fun and a pork bun. For the soup bowls, you have the choice over the type of noodle, the type of broth, and then what protein or other yummy thing you want added to it. She opted for the pork bone broth as a base with udon noodles and beef. The broth was absolutely excellent and was the perfect solution to a cold and rainy night. The rest of the ingredients were solid but I feel the broth (as it should) stole the show. With mine, I can freely admit that I am not a Beef Chow Fun expert but thought it was very good. The beef was sliced thin and tender and while the noodles were oily, I was not surprised as they are stir fried. I summed it up to my girlfriend as "cantonese comfort food". The pork bun was ok as the pork filling inside (although tasty) was only lukewarm.I liked the feel inside the restaurant. It won't win any awards for decorating as the walls were covered with vintage and randoms pictures and posters. It's small and can be cramped but I think that adds to it's charm. I definitely will add this to my regular rotation of restaurants that I frequent."
