Ophelia M. "Stopped by Rocket Baby Bakery recently for some coffee and breakfast and they're great for both!I got their egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It comes on a fresh baked ciabatta roll and comes topped with their house made melty cheese. It was divine. My dining companion ordered one of their vegetable goat cheese pastries. I had a bite and it was good (the lamination was perfection) but I would have definitely preferred it warmed. For my coffee, I got one of their specialty mochas. I got their almond joy mocha, which was a bit sweet for me (I mean, that was my bad--I should have known by the title). I'm excited to get one of their lattes next time. The service is lovely. They have a small seating area but in warmer months, they have an expansive patio. I'm looking forward to returning in pleasant weather!Get to it!"

Rachel K. "I've been here twice now around apple picking season and it is an absolute joy! I have loved every experience here. The parking lot is easy to navigate and while it's on the grass, it's well marked with plenty of spots. They have free entry into the apple orchards and you can pay for added fun like a hay ride or to go into the corn maze. We opted for just apple picking and picked up a 1/2 peck bag and their print out guide of what color ribbons go with which apples. My friends and I had so much fun exploring the grove, trying apples, climbing trees and ladders and taking photos while filling our bag with our favorite apple varieties. My personal favorites are the Cortland and Crispin apples. They are sweet, juicy and beautiful. I ended up mostly getting these varieties but others we enjoyed were the Jonathan, Macoun, McIntosh and Ida Reds. On our visit there were thirteen varieties available. My 1/2 peck was $15- a steal when you include the fun of picking and exploring the grounds. It was really cool to see couples, families, friends and more out enjoying apple picking and there was plenty of space where it didn't feel too crowded.Across from the apple picking is the real shopping, they have an indoor market as well as a smaller food court area that does some items and caramel apples. The store has everything you could imagine from coffee and cocoa to honey roasted ham, fresh pies baked in paper bags and cheese curds. I even bought some dog treats to bring home to Oslo. It's easy to stock up on your seasonal favorites or shop locally for gifts. My friends and I had so much fun and will have amazing memories long after our apples and pie are eaten."

It came with a cup of soup and a giant dinner roll. Very very tasty. All that for $9. WOW.Got a desert giant eclair on the way out. Can't wait to demolish it."

Around The Clock Restaurant & Bakery

Around The Clock Restaurant & Bakery

★★★☆☆ 3.4 (279) • $$

Eric F. "Around The Clock Restaurant & Bakery serves Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner, but here, breakfast is the busiest meal of the day. This is a typical American Diner/Coffee Shop, with a lively Coffee Shop vibe, like so many other Greek owned Coffee Shops that used to dot Chicago. That means that places like this usually have a few Greek dishes scattered throughout the menu, like flaky Spanakopita (spinach & feta cheese pie), creamy-chicken-lemon & rice soup (they don't call it "Avgolemono" here), Souvlaki (a Greek pork kabob in pita, but here it's chicken), roasted or grilled lamb (but no lamb here unless it's a special), Gyros (in the case here, it's pre-sliced and packaged, not on a spool), and of course, a big Greek Salad with oregano, anchovies, feta, & olives. But Around The Clock Restaurant does seem to have some Greek dishes available, but not many, unless they are "off the menu" for regulars who are 'in-the-know'. My guess is that the new kitchen staff who took over from the old owners simply don't know how to cook Greek food anymore. Breakfast items crowd at least four pages of the menu here, with eggs any style, including Benedicts, Omelets, and Skillets. Waffles are also served, as well as Pancakes, thick French Toast, and one of my favorites, 3 thin Crepes for 8.95. And if you arrive early enough to get their Southern Sausage Gravy (they stop making it at 1:00 PM and it's sells out quickly), you can get a gravy smothered Country Fried Steak, either Beef or Chicken ($1 replaces your toast with a pancake). Also, some breakfasts Do Offer a slight Greek element, like Gyros meat added to your omelet or eggs. But the most special breakfast items here are the fresh pastries, breads, & muffins, all baked on site. Yum. Cakes, Pies, and Cookies are baked here as well, but alas, no Baklava. Lunch here is also typical diner food, offering Burgers, Sandwiches, Soups (the French Onion is good), Salads, and even a classic Retro Monte Carlo. The seafood offerings are Salmon, Catfish, Shrimp & Cod. There's also Greek Souvlaki, Fried Chicken, Hot Open-Faced Turkey or Beef sandwiches, Steaks, Spaghetti, and other items that lean more towards Mexican food than Greek (about 6 to 10 items), with two Asian inspired dishes (Chinese Chicken Salad & Chop Suey), and they even offer Jambalaya, sort of an odd outlier here. My favorite lunch at Around The Clock is their Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Prime Rib Special. It is under 25.00 and comes with fresh bread & butter, soup or salad, and two sides. But you have to like your prime rib cooked to medium, because I have yet to see a slice that's even close to rare. Dinner has pretty much the same menu as lunch. However what I didn't mention is that Round the Clock has a full Fountain service, with pies a la mode, ice cream sodas, plus splits and sundaes. One last Note is that this is in no way a cheap place. Onion Soup is just under 6.00, Burgers are just shy of 13.00, Broiled Cod is just under 17.00, Fish Tacos are a bit under 18.00, and decent steaks here are around 23 dollars. However, there is a kids menu, and seniors get 10% off if you ask for it. Around The Clock Restaurant & Bakery is open weekdays from 7AM to 10PM, and weekends (Sat & Sun) from 6AM to Midnight. Good Hours."

Heidi C. "I can't speak on how their "regular" stuff is since I came here with the idea that we'd possibly be using them for our wedding cake so keep that in mind when reading. We made the appointment and paid what needed to be paid for a cake tasting and selected the flavors we wanted. When the day of the tasting came, we were seated in a room away from the hussle and bussle of the main area which was appreciated. The flavors we selected to try were brought out and we were told which was which and then given space and time to try them AT OUR OWN PACE!!! That was wonderful. No one was starting at us akwardly while we tried each one and made our notes on them. We decided to go with them and paid the $50 deposit. Unfortuately we did cancel with them (with plenty of notice) because we found another bakery we liked better and better suited our needs and wants for the wedding cake. I called to cancel the contract and the lady I spoke with was very sweet and understanding. She did not make me feel bad for canceling at all and because of that and the experience when doing the cake tasting, they will be high on our list if we need a cake or desserts for anything else in the future."

Viv P. "**I've only had pastries here, and not the food, so that's all I'm reflecting. I've been here many times before (pre-covid), and the decor is so pretty. It's great for some coffee with your girlfriends, or for a date with your lover, though some guys may find it too French? but I haven't been here since covid and I'm not sure why I never wrote a review for the place. Their pastries are truly delicious. About 2 weeks ago, a friend made us a care package with about every pastry they had, and I really liked the plain beignets. Beignets:The raspberry filled I didn't like, but that's a personal preference - I just don't like fruit jelly in my pastries. any kind. The hazelnut was good, but the plain tasted better. Somehow, the wasn't the same thing with just a hazelnut filling added, but more like two different kinds of pastries altogether. This is also true of their croissants. Croissants:The plain one is flakier and butteri-er. Even shaped differently. chocolate croissant is shaped more like a rectangular donut. I can't remember what the almond croissant looked like? Bad memory. But one thing I know is that I'm never a big fan of croissants that are rectangular. I like the looking like crescent moons. Macarons:we got a bunch of different flavors and I liked some more than others, but I can't remember what they all were. You must have these when they are fresh. Do not let them sit for a day. Even a day later they just don't have the same chewyness level. If you're going to do that, get the frozen ones at Trader Joe's. Otherwise, enjoy these right on the spot! Bombe du nord:Looks beautiful, a chocolate dome with gold flakes. Kinda like a chocolate mousse, very, very rich, but oh so satisfying. I can only eat a quarter piece at a time, it's that rich. Then there was this long rectangular pastry/dessert that I don't know the name of. It had some gummies fruit layers, some cake laters, some cream layers.? I don't know what it was, but it was so good. I didn't see it the next time we visited. And I don't know why I didn't take pictures of this. It was so goooooood.....So Saturday morning, we picked up 2 plain beignets and and 2 macarons. Macarons:chocolate - it was very full of chocolate flavor. like, infused. But I didn't like it too much. I could just eat chocolate mousse or something. Oh, I don't know when these were made, but the chocolate one was definitely made before the strawberry one, maybe even a day ahead. Not as soft and chewy, but rather harder and crumbly. strawberry - ok, so I say strawberry, but it may have been another flavor. I can't tell what it was. all I remember is that this one was a piece of the moon. So good. There was just enough hint of fruitiness, chewy amazingness, and even some cream filling surrounding it that just brought everything together. I was sad I only got one."

When I first called Mary's Market and asked to speak with the person in charge of catering, Laurena took my call and we had the most pleasant conversation, really hit it off from the get-go. She was super attentive to all our needs and went the extra mile every step of the way to ensure we had the best menu for each breakfast and lunch she and her staff were creating for us. We were on a big production for a photoshoot and needed our crew to be well-fed and happy with each meal, which is no small feat. Laurena truly knocked it out of the park! We needed a bit of "hand-holding" and she was happy to chime in and help us along the way with any questions we had, and the food was AMAZING!! From what I recall, my favorites were, Market Strata (sausage), taco bar (order extra guacamole, it's incredible), stuffed mushrooms, seedy bagel sticks (make sure you toast them right before eating), and OMG the gourmet cookies!!! These might be the best cookies ever. They're impossible not to eat, no matter what diet you're trying to stay on. SO many great options and really, all the food was great.. and the service matched the greatness. We even had some days up in Whitewater, and they were so wonderful to accommodate us up there. They've got brand new vans that can hold all their carts and trays, and everything arrived warm and stayed warm for the shoots thanks to their chafing dish racks and sternos. I could go on and on about the food but truly it was Laurena that made this experience so wonderful. Thank you so much for helping our production receive the best catering we've ever had!"
