Butcher Block Meat Market

We went there because we won a meat raffle from a local bar. Person on the phone wasn't very friendly when I first called to arrange the pick up. As the conversation went on she became a bit more friendly.Husband went to pick up the package and said they weren't very warm and friendly to him either.Husband said the place was clean and reminded him of the up north butcher shops we used to frequent before they closed down after COVID.The meat we have tried so far has been really good quality and very flavorful. The cuts have been generous as well.

This is a small shop ,but they have some delicious homemade sausages. And lots of different meats and seasonings and jerky too. We also got salmon for my Dad , but they didn't have fresh- only frozen. Overall very good. We will be going back.

Requested a pork crown roast to celebrate with my family and was turned down. "Butcher shop" Experience was a disappointment, prejudice and no customer service skills.

I love my meat markets because I'm a carnivore so I'm always on the look out for them and today it was Butcher Blocks turn, another place that I have been looking at for a while with no photo presence so a Steve stop by was on. When you walk in you know your in the right place because you smell smoke in the air, the real deal meat shop that smokes the products that they sell. I looked at the web site and Saturday's special was chicken wings so now fresh wings is on the diner menu.The place is well stocked with fresh meats, sausages, deli meats, smoked goods and various frozen items with plenty of sea food. I asked for a pound of the Saturday special wings and I was told that no one buys them but they did have a 3 pound frozen bag of wings, I could get frozen at any crap store I told them so I passed.I ended up getting a sampling of the homemade sausage section with the breakfast sausage, nothing special tasting but juicy. The jalapeño and blue cheese brat which was tasty on a fresh pretzel bun. The homemade slim Jim and a jalapeño cheddar stick were interesting but the jalapeño one was way tastier. Thick cut bacon and Hungarian sausage rounded out my purchase which I have not tried yet.I liked the quality of the items with some being better than others and glad that I stopped by because a good sausage/brat on a good fresh roll/bun is always welcome on my menu. I was disappointed that the Saturday fresh wing special that they advertise on line and on the menu board in the store has obviously been gone for some time which was my main reason for the not very close drive over. Overall I would stop back for the sausage and meat sticks for sure if I was down south but I wouldn't make the hour round trip drive just to stop by.

Traveling from out of state and was told this would be the best place to grab some authentic meat. Walked in and happy with the selection but that's where it stopped. Gentleman (sales associate) behind the counter seemed extremely displaced by our presence and could care less of us being there. He was rude and short and as he kept asking us in a snide tone ...anything else? My response to him wanted to be "yes a better attitude from you." Ended up just buying a root beer and didn't care to even 'bother' him with any other requests for anything in the case. You would hope a sales person working for you would be delighted to see people walk in the shop and buy things but not this person today.

We've made two purchases from Butcher Block now. Both times we purchased bulk boxes of chicken breast and bacon. The chicken breasts are easily 2-2.5# each, and the bacon is a very high quality that we can't really find in stores. The most similar I can find is almost double the price. We purchased 10 pounds of ground beef this past weekend and I have never in my life had beef cook down so nicely. We also tried a couple jalapeno cheddar brats, which if you like spicy food they were great! I'm looking forward to bringing in some venison this fall to have sausage made. The lady who was helping me was very kind and even wheeled my meat boxes out to the car and loaded them up for me. I appreciate the small town, old fashioned butcher shop feel, and I honestly don't mind paying cash if it helps to keep pricing down. It's hard to find a high quality butcher that is affordable. Thank you for everything.

Over priced meat all that stuff comes right off a Sysco truck. Better off going to Jewel or Meier where they have the same quality meat for a better price. Although he did have the best brats until Tom and Jessie left the business. Now we have kids who could careless of the quality of product they are selling.

We wish we could give The Butcher Block a ten star review instead of 5. We had them roast an 80 lb pig, stuffed with smoked polish sausage, and 15 chickens roasted on site at a local banquet hall in Muskego. We also had 2 large cheese and sausage appetizer trays. The guests enjoyed watching the meats roast, but more so enjoyed the perfectly prepared meats. Everything was served at the time requested and everything was delicious beyond description. Thank you Doug for making our celebration special!

Forget supermarket meat....hands down this is the best beef and pork we have ever eaten. Their bacon wrapped tenderloin is very affordable, tender and delicious!

20 plus years as a customer I have never been impressed with their products, try to support business in the area. Lately, had to throw food out from BB. Not gonna waste any time trying to return old bad looking meats. I'm done with butcher block after 20 something years. I have better luck with meats at the local pick n save.
