When I heard that Milwaukee tool on Lisbon had a bunch of Milwaukee food trucks on the property I went over for lunch to check out what was going on. It turns out that it was some sort of employee appreciation thing where they hand you red tickets to use on any truck, yah I totally crashed there lunch but I didn't pretend to be an employee and paid for my lunch. I almost had a problem since it was a private event there was no cash drawer, she had to ask if cash was ok and realized they have no change so I think she gave me change from her own pocket to take care of me. I tried to spread the word at work but no one had the balls to crash the event, there words for the most part. My thoughts are that if you see 8 popular Milwaukee street food trucks in a strange place or business stop and check it out.It was a tough choice because all the trucks were all the trucks I would like to try but a gourmet burger from burgermeister sounded good. I opted for the bacon burgermeister, $7 and no frys. The bacon burgermeister didn't look very gourmet, see my picture. It was a bun with a beef patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, diced onion and a slice of tomatoe. The bun was very disappointing because it reminded me of your average back yard BBQ burger bun dense/hard, gourmet should be an outstanding bun in my opinion. The lettuce was just regular iceberg and gourmet should have a better option. The diced onion did not work either because it was falling out with each bite. The bacon was razor thin so there was a minor taste of bacon. The one thing I liked was the beef patty because it had great flavor and if the other items were geared towards gourmet this would have been a good burger.I don't understand all the 4 and 5 stars that this truck is getting so I was expecting something mind blowing or at least better than average. To my Yelp friends who have higher star ratings, I'm just being honest with today's visit and the pictures have been posted to back up my review.Overall I was not impressed with the baconmeister from the gourmet truck and I was expecting more and I'm not saying it was bad. The baconmeister was an ok burger for what it was and it looked like an ordinary burger so I really didn't see anything special about this truck.

I've had a few burgers from this truck over the past couple of months. All of their burger patties are 1/3 pound and served on a buttered brioche bun. On my first visit, I ordered the Baconmeister. It was described with bacon ground into the beef mix for the patty and topped with bacon, so yes, I wanted it. I told them I didn't want any toppings so I could "taste the meat." I think this confused them because they left off the veggies and cheese but also left off the bacon!!!I told them about this the second time I ordered the Baconmeister. They apologized and gave me free day-time weekday Summerfest tickets. This time the burger was topped with everything. I didn't want to risk losing the bacon. The patty was pretty good. It was well-seasoned but I didn't notice the bacon. The bacon on top of the patty made up for it.I was also surprised that they put the lettuce, tomato and onion under the patty. The taste buds are on my tongue, not the roof of my mouth. I don't want to taste veggies first (after the bun), I want to taste the burger. I took the veggies off anyway this time, so I could try and focus on the patty. Both times the patty was cooked a bit above medium, so when I unwrapped the burger, there were burger juices flowing out. I like that. The fries were fresh cut and seasoned well, so I enjoyed them even though they were on the soggy side. I guess the trick is to fry them more then once for crispiness but then you risk unpleasant color on the fries and potentially unpleasant taste. Not sure how to make the the happy medium other than constantly changing the oil, but that can be costly and cumbersome. I'll leave that to the pros to figure out.For $9, this burger included chips or fries and a drink, so good value. This was in mid-June.I noticed their prices went up a buck last week or the week before, so I passed on them, but today the prices were back to the original prices from my first 2 visits. Game on.Today I ordered the Garlicmeister. Had my eye on it for a while.A garlic-herbed butter is spread over the patty. I lifted the top bun and saw finely minced garlic all over it. Yes!Watch out butter burgers, garlic butter burgers are my new preference for naughtiness! The burger patty was still well-seasoned and the minced garlic butter added a great dimension. If I get this again, I'll add bacon.I might not try again because they changed the fries today. Last month fresh cut seasoned fries. Today battered (I presume frozen) and seasoned fries. They were fine, but I don't like the texture of battered fries. They don't feel like potatoes. They don't taste like potatoes to me. They were crispier than the fresh cut fries and I'll assume that's what they were going for, but I prefer the fresh cut they made last month.I may ask for a discounted price and skip the fries and drink next time. Seems silly to buy a bag of chips from a food truck when I can get those anywhere.Burgermeister also features a special burger of the month, or week, or day. I forget. Today's was a French Onion Burger with caramelized onions, gryere and asiago cheese for $11. $10 is my threshold for lunch, so I passed. Burgermeister provides great customer service. They really hustle on that truck and they make good burgers. Worth checking out if you haven't already.

Awesome food and service! Brought them in to serve all 3 shifts at our company (they came in and served lunch for each shift!). They were well prepared with the food for everyone, on time for each shift and the food was excellent! Raving reviews from all of the employees on both the burgers and fries!! Highly recommend them and I know we will definitely bring them in again for another event!!Lisa @ Scan Pac Mfg. - Menomonee Falls

The food truck bar has been raised. This has happened quite a bit in recent years as more and more vendors throw their hat into the ring. There was less than the average number of trucks at the Courthouse, but I knew I was choosing this truck right away based upon the great review that Rick R. gave it.The menu is extensive for a food truck with 8 different options plus a daily special. In addition to variations on burgers there are portabello, mahi-mahi and bean burgers too.I must admit I was very intrigued by the mahi burger, but decide that should not be my inaugural choice from any truck. So I went with the portobello burger and I'm sure glad that I did.I've had portobello burgers often in many establishments, but none quite like this. The mushroom is lightly breaded in seasoned panko and quickly fried to create the most tasty of crusts. Think of the best portobello fries you've ever had. Optional toppings are lettuce, tomato, onion and a perfectly balanced chipotle mayo. These tasty layers of goodness are nested inside a beautiful fresh brioche roll to create the perfect lunch time meal. All burgers are served with a side of house made chips or fries and a canned beverage. The house made chips sounded interesting and tasted that way too. Some were better than others (the good ones were sliced thinner) depending on thickness and seasoning. If they can consistently turn out thinner and even seasoned chips they'll really be on to something. But since this is a very new entry into the Milwaukee food truck game, and the mushroom burger was so fantastic right out of the gates, I will definately go back and wouldn't hesitate to try the mahi and you shouldn't either!

I have been known to be a little bit of the Milwaukee Burger King. Always on the hunt for the best burger. I'm down to try a new burger almost anywhere, anytime, especially when a food truck shows up in my office park on Tuesdays. The Burgermeister? Of course I had to try! First and foremost, customer service was awesome. You can tell that the 3 of them were having fun, and when you like what you do, you usually do a dang good job of it, and it showed. Burger was up really quickly, and it looked delicious. I won't lie, it wasn't the best quality burger I've had.....but it was still pretty dang tasty. It had that....cooked on a charcoal grill, 4th of July festivities taste to it that I love...but something was missing. If they came up with some sort of special sauce to add to the burger, this burger would be small....but pretty epic. I didn't like the homemade chips at all. I couldn't tell if they were supposed to be warm and just out of the fryer, or cold like a regular potato chip....because I had both in my bag. One chip tasted fresh and delicious, the next was cold and almost soggy....and gross. I'll definitely try the fries next time. Price point was a bit higher than most for what they offered, but it's still not a bad deal at all when a truck shows up to your workplace and you don't have to decide whats for lunch today. I'm a fan, and since they just started, I'm sure they will only get better with time. I'll definitely be adding this to my regular Tuesday Food Truck rotation.

Service was slow as heck. Finally I get my burger and it was overcooked and greasy.I didn't like anything about my experience there. But there are a lot of good food trucks out there.

Would be a good burger if not served small and cold. Both burger and fries were cold. If diet conscious, the thin patty should satisfy. Only ate it because I was hungry. Seems like it was a good concept half executed. Overall was not a gourmet burger experience

I am not sure I experienced this truck in the correct manner. The truck was brought to my workplace, 40 minutes from downtown MKE. We also had a 200~ person company to feed in 2 hours. The truck was parked at our work for 2 hours or so before serving. The fries were great but my burger was greasy as all getup. I normally eat really clean, so the more grease, the more my stomach cries. From the way it seems, with wait times, I think my burger was pre-cooked. The veggie burgers took much longer, probably because they actually had to cook them.Would I try them again, probably not, when there are much better burger places around, in Milwaukee.

I love Burger Meister! Their burgers are fresh and delicious. Along with good Ol' ground chuck, they also have portobello, Mahi Mahi, and black bean. Burgers come with homemade chips or fries. Service is fast and very friendly. I love Food Truck season in Milwaukee and this is one of my favs!
