Brock's River Walk Tavern & Grill

Came here for lunch and it wasn't empty or packed, just a nice amount of people. Service came with a smile, free of charge so that was great.We went split app-meal and tried the breaded "wings", Cheese curds, crab cakes, and the bacon tomato grilled cheese sandwich. I say "wings" because they were WINGS on STEROIDS! Like, massive legs, almost a full size drumstick. I'd hate to get in a fight with that chicken. It's the kind of chicken that would punch you in the face for staring at his hen's ass. It's the kind of chicken that would grunt while lifting a 50 pound bag of feed. It's the kind of chicken that would get out of its car because you flicked it off for cutting you off at an intersection. It's the kind...ok, I'll stop. BIG ASS STEROID DRUMSTICKS. I enjoyed them, even though I'm not usually a fan of TOO large of wings as the crunchiness can be sacrificed. This was not the case.The cheese curds were on par with other curds I've had, so that is a win in my book. The grilled cheese was tasty, not mind blowing, but good enough. The crab cake was just ok. If I hadn't JUST been in crabcake heaven, aka Maryland, I'd probably enjoy the dish more. If you love crab cakes, go for it. Traditional bar atmosphere, nice service, good beer selection, good food, and STEROID CHICKEN WINGS. I'd be back for sure.

I have been to this place 3 times. The food is always just fine. However, all 3 times service has been horrible. We showed up yesterday around 1120 ahead of the lunch rush. We sat as a family of 4 for 35min and were not acknowledged. My other 2 experiences weren't quite this bad. But certainly excessive waiting for what I expected every time.

I'm adding a star because the server personally contacted me and apologized for the service we received. I hope we can get back there at some point and give it a better review... stay tuned!

Best Friday fish fry in town! Come early for best seating! The chef at Brock's does excellent work-- every plate is visually appealing and delicious. Dining area has excellent views of the river. Sometimes the hostess function is a little disjointed, which may be due to a lack of staff.

Nice decor, friendly staff, great views. Had the meat loaf and mahi. Straight from Sysco down to instant mashed potatoes. They also charge full price for an ice tea refill..

Why this place SUCKS:1) My family and I went here to use up a gift card. We sat at the bar waiting for a drink for 15 minutes after one waitress told us it'd be best to wait at the bar because she might be too busy with her ONE table to take our drink order . It was NOT busy.2) After the terrible service just trying to fill drinks, there was a band setting up, so we decided to stay and see what the band was all about. We waited an hour and a half ordering rounds while we waited. When the band started, they started charging a cover at the door. Then, they proceeded to police the bar area where people had already been for hours demanding a cover charge. How tacky?! Nobody does that. I mean, come on, this is smallTown Wisconsin, not a dapper club in Chicago. If this business was run on smart management and customer service, they would've realized that had they not ran us out of there demanding a cover charge, they would have made more money in the end off of our food and drink charges we would've racked up throughout the night. Instead, they tried to kick us out right after we ordered a round of drinks and put up with their shotty service all night. All staff was rude and incredibly slow. I have no desire to return to this mediocre small town tavern.

What can I say? We thought we'd give this place a try and were so happy we did. Went for lunch. The place is clean, spacious and is decorated very nice (lots of rustic barnwood). They had a nice dining room overlooking the river and an outdoor patio. We opted to eat at the bar since it was a rainy day. Plenty of tvs in the bar and would make a great place to catch a game. The waitress gave us outstanding service. Very friendly. The food....YUM! Started off with crab cakes, which were very good. My friend had a burger (loaded with all kinds of stuff) and I had the reuben. The reuben wasn't made with the typical cheap sliced lunchmeat kind of corned beef, but was real shredded corned beef. It was one of the best I have ever had! We can't wait to come back to try their dinner menu! Will definitely be back. Oh and did I mention it was clean...as in VERY clean (sorry, but I have a thing about eating places being clean, especially restrooms.) This place gets an A+

We were just out for a drive when we passes thru this town and we found this place. We are glad we stopped in. They have an amazing bar that overlooks the water. Pool table, dart boards, and so much more... They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap to choose from. We decided we were going to eat after reading through thier menu. Our server was very friendly. She explained the specials and some of her favorites. Our daughter had the Alfredo pasta kids meal which was very tasty. My wife had the steak sandwich which was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfect. Lastly I had a fresh berry salad that was wonderful. It had fresh apples, mandarin oranges, grapes, candied nuts with a raspberry dressing. Very nicely done. I would have given this place a 5 star review, but I felt that the prices were a bit high. We will be back again soon and if they can match or beat this visit I will bump it up to a 5 star!Cheers!

Food and service are fantastic, and prices are very reasonable for what you get. Hubby and I came for the dart tournament on May 6th (1st Saturday of each month), which is the first time we've been here. Husband and wife bartenders/servers/tournament hosts were so fun and friendly. We tried a bunch of items from the menu, which were all delicious. The flatbreads are to die for (we tried the Philly and BBQ chicken), they have the BEST cheese curds (cheese curd connoisseur here) and the prime rib sandwich was awesome. Everything was amazing, and can't wait to come back!
