Boulder Junction Charcoal Grill

Third time here but first Yelp review. This review will be my 100th Yelp review so I decided to splurge on the Friday's prime rib special for lunch. This place get busy during the lunch rush and the wait staff was hustling for the hour and so that we were there, but by 1:15 the restaurant was relatively calm. Due to the lunch rush our orders took a little longer than usual and so on, but it is understandable. Our food was really good and came out hot, worth the wait. Today my lunch crew ordered two prime rib specials and one ordered the Mediterranean chicken wrap with roasted red pepper clam chowder as his side. Roasted red pepper calm chowder may seem odd, but I am surprised he didn't lick the rest out of the bowl, he loves BJs and goes here often during his lunch hour. His wrap was also really well received, nothing left to take with him. My other compadre also splurged and ordered the prime rib special with steak fries and a side salad as a side. He loves fries, but he was laser focused on his medium rare prim rib. All I can say is that he demolished his prime rib and left most of his fries, that says a lot. I also ordered the prime rib, side salad but haystack onion rings as a side. The haystack onion rings were alright, but my friend's steak fries looked darn tasty. My prime rib was done to a perfect medium rare with plenty of au jus underneath it, also I had blue cheese crumbles placed on top, such a good combo. This was probably my personal top 15 prime rib places in the last 5 years. The prime rib could have been seasoned and crusted on the outside to add another level of flavor but it was delicious none the less. I will be back for a prime rib lunch within the next few months as it is hard to find a place around here that serves prime rib outside of Saturday nights.

The place has been closed at least 4 months (for remodeling) and counting. The windows are taped over with paper. If it had a customer base, most of it is surely gone. I wonder if it's ever going to reopen ?

Unfortunately, they are not as welcoming as they used to be. Asked if we could come in at 8PM with a party of 8 and the response: "well we close at 9..." felt like we were bothering them for even asking. Zero hospitality, just a "why would you even call" vibe. Miss the old welcoming place we used to love. Won't be calling or going there again...

Ordered lunch to go here for everyone at work. Takeout menu was fantastic because it basically has something for everyone and the items are all the same price so it was really easy to split the bill. We basically all got burgers and fries, I was impressed they asked us how we'd like them cooked and then followed through on our requests perfectly. These days you could spend 10.95 on a meal at McDonald's, this was the same price and a much better value AND you're supporting a family owned business as a bonus! Staff was very friendly when I went in, I would say the food was boxed up and ready in 15 minutes from when I ordered.

Was there while visiting relatives. It was adequate but nothing special. The food is fine, and the housemate chip are good. I had a burger and it was very good. Cooked right. My aunt told me they used to have better buns. I never saw the old style ones, but this was fine. Our server was very nice and helpful. Full marks for service. The interior was clean, but seemed odd. They have this stoney wsll. It looks like it should have things on it in these alcoves, but didn't. Just sort of empty. They do have plexi shields between all the tables (obviously covid measure).Honestly I can say anything was bad, but nothing really stood out and the food is good but nothing special.Now I did hear that this place was just bought and has new management, so next time I'm in the area I'd try it again. Hopefully this is just a transitional period while the new management makes changes.

We stopped in here on a Sunday evening after attending the matinee at the Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove. We had driven by many times and thought we wold give them a try. The server was fun. She had a great attitude. I had the Perch fried fish. With coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw was about 2oz. The steak fries I liked because they were not greasy. The Perch was cooked and breaded nicely. I hate when their is too much breading and grease. My partner ordered a hamburger with mushrooms. It was huge , halo pound and she like it medium well. It was cooked perfectly. The ambiance was different . I think they are trying for a western theme.The French Onion Soup was stupendous.

I think this place closed?? I have been calling them for a few months. and now the phone number is disconnected. I have a gift card and would like a refund.

Food was great and service was friendly -server Lori was very nice and answered all questions! Over all was pretty quiet on a Wednesday night - so nice atmosphere - not to noisy or crazy. Calamari appetizer was excellent!French onion soup was 7 out of 10 - little bland but little salt and pepper did the trick.Ribeye was well seasoned but slightly under cooked at medium rare - which was ok for me, but little longer on the grill and would have been perfect.Overall good place - would visit again for sure!

Great friendly place, I ate at the bar and felt very welcomed by the bar tender. Had a nice steak very economical. If I lived in Milwaukee I would be a regular.

WOW!Bad dining night for us :(Your hostess.Is not very friendly.Absolutely no greeting no smile. For two follow me, was our greeting.? We should not have followed her.Our bread was very hard. Stale perhaps.Our food was cold as the greeting we got from our hostess :(Thanx But No Thanx......
