If you're on your way to a tailgate, and need to pick up a fresh bottle of Fireball or a sixer of Lite, Bluemound Liquor is one of the closest options to the ballpark. So it's good for that. Thinking of stopping any other time? Well, it's a clean store and they have a surprisingly decent wine selection. That said, prices are easily $2-3 more per item than other spots. I paid $10 (!) for s bottle of Cristalino ($8 at Metcalfe's) and it was clearly old and mostly flat. The folks working weren't especially pleasant either. No reason for me to return.

Commendable selection of craft beers for the size of the store, but it's not cheap. They also carry most top shelf liquors. I can't speak to the wine selection - they carry it but I've never purchased from them. I had a hard time finding any scotch over 10 years old, though, and check the expiration date on the beer! I've unwittingly bought beer that was 6 months past it's "best by date", as have friends.

I'm giving it one star because they actually DO sell liquor...but THAT'S IT!! This IS a family owned business and you'd expect a friendly, attentive atmosphere when you walk in...oh, hell no! They old lady(wife of owner?) is the WORST! She is rude, condescending, and downright malevolent! The owner is NOT much better and you'd think he'd have at least the sensible business practice of having his "employees" treat the customers with courtesy and respect!! I never rush to judgement as everyone has bad days and even though you should NEVER take it out on the customer, I went back on three more occasions in the hopes the 1st visit was unusual, but i was treated with the same horrible behavior. On the 4th and final visit, I was so disgusted by my treatment, I vowed to NEVER patronize this establishment again.and if you want to save yourself the indignation of being treated like you're bothering one of them, go a little further south on Hawley Road to County Beer & Liquor where they treat customers with a smile !

You don't need a lot from a liquor store, except a relatively clean shopping area free of bodily fluids and loaded weapons... and that's why I prefer Bluemound Beer & Liquor! It's in a non-sketch location, clean, will not overwhelm you, and provides a decent selection without skimping on the good stuff. From my limited understanding, it is family-owned, and they are knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. Prices are fairly standard and if you want the whole enchilada, BBL also sells cold mixers and snacks. Not a bad drive if you live in West Allis, Wauwatosa or Downtown Milwaukee and want a place you can find a good selection without a hassle or the feel of walking into a huge liquor emporium.

Horrible, horrible customer service. Can't remember when I've been treated so badly in any type of establishment. The selection was ok, and I was actually going to purchase a few things, but as this isn't the type of large store that offers carts or baskets and I didn't want to have to carry everything around, I was just walking around browsing a bit before I actually took anything off the shelf or out of the cooler. I hadn't been in the store two minutes when the woman at the counter asked me if I needed something. I told her I was browsing, but perhaps one minute later she asked again, and kept repeating the question despite the fact that at this point I told her that yes, I would be buying several things, but I just hadn't made up my mind yet. She then became increasingly belligerent and told me if I wasn't going to buy (although I'd said I would be buying) she'd just go in the back. After she said this, it upset me to the point where I decided I didn't want that Woodchuck sour cherry cider after all, nor did I wish to keep browsing the wine selection. I just walked out, after having been in there no longer than 5 minutes (confirmed by the person waiting for me in my car) and went on back to the corner liquor store in my neighborhood where the selection is crap but I get a much more cordial reception from the man behind the bulletproof plexiglas.Oh, and then the next day I went and spent $80 at Total Wine in Brookfield, after browsing for a full half hour without pissing anyone off. Ha, take that, nasty Bluemound Liquor lady.

A hard-working, friendly family runs the store. You'll find something at least close to what you want in its relatively small space. In particular, they have a large selection of craft beers. Be aware that they lock their doors at 8:55 p.m...mn

Close to my place, decent prices, friendly staff. Actually, $2.29 for a 24 ounce bottle of St. Pauli Girl is a steal. Siskel and Ebert gave this place 2 tumors up.

I've normally never had a problem at this store. The old Arabic guy at the counter was a complete jerk. I asked for a sour mix and he was condescending. I accidently broke a bottle that was next to the mix I wanted that was teetering off the shelf. I informed him that it had broke and he asked me why I was just standing there. Here's a clue, you own a liquor store.. I break it, I buy it, YOU clean it up! Got that? I'll never purchase anything from this store again and will spread the word to your patrons and distributors. Welcome to America dude!

The women who works there is by far the rudest women in the world. They should not have her at the counter. she served me on my 21st and then every time I've been in there since she's had a problem with me. She almost refused to serve me today and tried to snatch my ID out of my hand because of something about "the last time" I was in the store. I'll take my chances at the grocery store from now on.
