The people that work at the twin lakes location are the worst employees I have ever encountered. Lazy, not bright and unhelpful.

September 4, 2021: Berkot's had raspberries on sale today. Too bad almost every container had mold on the fruit. I took a pass. The produce has always been questionable at Berkot's. The peaches that were on sale weren't worth the low price. Passed on these too. I don't think they keep the display cases cold enough to prevent mold growth. Come on Berkot's. The store has been remodeled, but quality is sorely lacking. On a positive note, I witnessed one of the employees at the checkout, Aidan (sp?), call a customer back to return some money because the man overpaid. Great job!

Great grocery store with some of the best meat around. Everyday prices are fair and specials are better than most!

Horrible. Prices on the shelf don't match the prices at the checkout. Many, many times it's happened to me. It's deceptive pricing. Bad news.

Great grocery store with an excellent selection of cheese. Friendly employees. It's nice and bright and good music.

Terrible grocery store...sure do miss the upscale GooseBerries....they are hard to duplicate. Berkots has employees who don't care about their products. Cashiers are not too friendly.

I have been going to the original Berkot's in Mokena for almost 30 years. I have watched as the quality of their food has gradually declined, which is a shame. There are several items I could use for example (fried chicken, homemade potato salad, etc.), but I will not get into that. Now, however, they have changed the packaging for their premade hamburgers, which were always great and were our go-to burgers for barbeques. They have started vacuum sealing them so they can prepare them far in advance so they can last longer. They do not have the prepared-on date on them. So, who knows for how long they have been sitting. And, the burgers come out COMPLETELY flattened and smashed. Yesterday, I had to hand roll and reshape all of the burgers (about 24 of them). I could not cook them as they were as they were. They looked like pancakes. So, I will no longer be buying Berkot's homemade hamburgers anymore.

This grocery store is the worst! Previous owner of Gooseberries had a wonderful business with high quality food, fabulous choices, great service and friendly knowledgeable employees. Since Berkot's took over (IL owned) the quality of food is terrible. All of the wonderful choices they used to have at Gooseberries and set them apart from other stores are gone - examples: hot food bar, made to order sandwiches, coffee bar, great selection of WI cheeses, homemade specialty items in deli Gooseberries was known for (chicken kiev, lux choices for catering, etc), made to order bloody marys to enjoy while you shop, etc. The quality of their produce is terrible. The store change is a big disappointment. I won't ever return.

Only food store within 15 miles (I think) so they have a fairly captive audience if people don't want to plan an outing to a bigger operation like Woodmans. Watch the short dated or expired date product on the shelves in this store. You could end up throwing out unused/unfinished items and absorbing the cost.I do find the store personnel id not very friendly and that I have to say reflects on the management of the store. It would be nice to see smiling faces and a "good to see you" greeting once and a while...Don't get me wrong, Twin Lakes needs and is lucky to have Berkot's in town, it would be nice to see a tighter run ship.
