I have been going there for 40 years. Now I bring my Great Grandson there. He loves the variety of sweet rolls. I hope someday he can bring his kids there.

Apparently, kringles are famous in Racine because the Danish brought these in 1800s. A friend recommended this place and we had a chat with Beven, one of the store employees. Most of the kringles are frosted except the apples one where they got caramel or sugar topping. Think they start at $11 each and about one pound each. We sampled the pecans one and it was a bit too sweet. Ended up getting the croissants, elephant ears and some apricot pockets. They also sell donuts, bagel, breads, etc. $5 min purchase to use credit card.

I made a trip back to the old home town, and this is one place I will not be driving by, without a stop. Bendtsen's has the best kringle in Racine. I'm not even going to entertain an opposition. In fact, it is the best bakery (IMO) in Southeastern Wisconsin. The wife and I arrived a little late on last Saturday, but late is better than never. The wife is a butterscotch fan. I know, she's 92 year old woman trapped in a 43 year olds body, but you can't deny it is a tasty flavor. We purchased one of those kringle varieties, a couple of croissant donuts, an elephant ear, and we should of gotten that last German Rye, but we just bought two loaves of Italian bread from Cardinalis. Next time for sure. All the items we purchased (and consumed) were outstanding. I mean that whole heartedly. OUTSTANDING. The one thing I didn't score, and was sad about, was a seven sisters. That is my childhood favorite. I will be back just to get me one of those. I will call ahead and make sure it is set aside. Tasting the kringle brought back happy childhood memories. In fact, it was better than when I was a kid!! I'm glad to see you are still in business, and I will be calling an order soon. Keep up the great quality, guys!!

Best Kringle in the world. Not open Sunday. Plan wisely. Get the churro, cinnamon roll, blueberry cheese, apple sugar and ohhhh the seven sister cake for heavens sake!

OMG. The Kringle is the best. Like you died and went to heaven. And heaven is the inside loop of a Kringle. I had tried Kringle at a local tourist trap - and the tourist Kringle tasted like a honey bun you get out of a vending machine. But this is the real deal. One of the only places still making Kringle by hand. And it is worth it. $11 for a basic Kringle as of July 2023.

I just ate my first roasted pecan Kringle. Life changing. They should sell them in Illinois cannabis shops ... they'd make a killing!

Bendtsen's is a homey fourth generation mom-and-pop operation and the David in the David and Goliath kringle competition in Racine (with bigger and better known O&H Danish Bakery). While in the area, we were happy to swing by and try one of their kringles. We were directed towards Bendtsen's a little while back by a couple of famous and kringle loving Yelpers with Wisconsin roots. They're so famous I don't even need to mention names. We arrived at about 4pm on a Tuesday and there were a few kringles left. Grace was our lovely and friendly local girl attendant and shared with us that they make the only hand made (versus machine made) kringles in Racine. We wanted almond (our favorite flavor), but they were out of those so we settled for a pecan. The wife also picked up a loaf of white bread ($3.75), another basic favorite bakery item of ours. Most of the kringles go for $10, but a few do go for $12. Both items were quite nice. As we both don't have particularly strong sweet tooth(s), we did however find the pecan slightly over-sweet for us, duhh! It had plenty of pecan filling unlike another reviewer whom I noticed complained about not enough filling, ha. Anyway, t'was nice to try and for now, I'll have to honestly give my kringle nod to O&H, but it's all a matter of personal taste and they both make great kringles. To make a fairer comparison, we'll try to make it back one day, and at an earlier time, to try their almond kringle.
