a cut of meat on a cutting board

I cannot say enough about Beck's. I moved up to Wisconsin a year ago and had not made a beef brisket since moving up here. I learned quickly that its not really a thing up here after visiting all the local grocery stores so I started doing my research and calling butchers to see if they could get me a brisket. The guy who answered the phone at Beck's told me they had some in the freezer and generally do as they are not a hot item. I decided to keep this in mind for the future when I needed one. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to make a brisket for Thanksgiving instead of turkey. I decided to stop by and pick up a frozen brisket to start thawing so it would be ready to prepare for Thanksgiving. I stopped by and they were out of the frozen. I asked about how to get a fresh one and they said they did them by order and it would be a few days to process the meat but they could have it for me the day before Thanksgiving which would be perfect as thats when I needed to start the rub and getting it ready to roast in the oven early the next morning. The brisket was absolutely beautiful. Honestly one of the best briskets I have ever seen. It was my first time doing an oven roasted one but with the way Becks trimmed and prepared it. Everything went smoothly and I came out with a perfect brisket that was a big hit. I know cooking it is all on me but Beck's was there to help out with an amazing cut of meat. I will use them for all my meat needs from now on.

I have mostly been going to Ski's butcher of late, but I was in the mood to sample some of the competition so I stopped by Beck's on Main this week to pick up a beef brisket to have on hand for a weekend of playoff football. I am originally from Kansas City, where BBQ beef brisket (and BBQ in general) is king, so I wanted to show up my brisket abilities to some of my local friends here in Oshkosh. I did not know it at the time, but this place has been in business forever, and apparently does a great deal of business processing meats for hunters and farmers. Buying a brisket in Wisconsin has been depressing in my previous attempts, as Pick N Save and Festival have pitiful offerings, but that is not the case at Beck's. They cut and trimmed my 22 pounder just for me, and left the cut in place to allow me to have the largest percentage of "burnt ends" after cooking, which is somewhat of a delicacy to us Kansas City folks. Unfortunately, I do not have a smoker on hand, so I had to make the brisket using the oven method. Even still, Beck's brisket was every bit as good as what I could buy from the butcher shops in KC. It turned out great, supper succulent and flavor that was to die for. While Beck's is a bit on the pricey side, the price is in line with the quality. The extremely friendly staff here listened to my needs and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I will be back!

I live 1500 miles from Oshkosh, and buying presents for family there is not always easy. I know my daughter always shops at Beck's, so I called them a couple of years ago asking about gift cards. They were wonderful about helping me out. A gift card from Beck's is now my daughter's favorite present and one that I have been sending every year now. If you're puzzled about what to buy for a present, a Beck's gift card is as good as it gets!

First time customer at becks. Purchased tenderloin filets and pork breakfast patties. Total was under 15$ which was pleasantly unexpected compared to prices at other places. I grilled the filets with my chimney on a charcoal grill. They were extremely tender and delicious. I used the pork breakfast patties in a bagel breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese. The patties were flavorful and wide enough yet thin to use in any type of breakfast sandwich. I recommend becks for flavor , quality, freshness, and affordable prices.

Ordered a 1/2 steer and 1/2 pig from my wife's co-worker. Hamburger and brats were literally nasty white with fat. Hamburger is so fatty it's hard as clay. Cooking either of these two items on my grill results in massive fire. We mostly cook the hamburger for chili and such and drain off all the fat.Furthermore I didn't receive beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin or baby back ribs in my order... I won't do business with them again.
