I love this market, attached to Beans & Barley's restaurant, so ridiculously much. If only 'cause it carries El Rey's Lemon Tostaditas Chips. And I am batsh*t crazy about them:If you have yet to have the pleasure, run, don't walk to Beans and grab yourself a bag. The seasoning has this indescribable uh... lemony tang, and the chips are sturdy enough to handle the thickest salsa or dip. Thing is though, they're delicious enough to stand on their own. When I bring these back to NYC, I gently nestle the bag into my carry-on luggage, like the finest china, to prevent crushing. On this last trip, I found myself musing to hubby, "I wish I could find a way to export these to Brooklyn!" I also noticed a new-to-me-at-least flavor, Chipotle Sour Cream. I regret not getting these too.Other than this, the market is fun to poke around in. This time around, I spotted Loma Linda brand canned meat alternative products, which triggered flashbacks of my former vegetarian days. And I dug the oven mitts with smart a** sayings on them, among other things.Bottom line: Don't even think of leaving here without a bag of El Rey's Lemon Tostaditas Chips. Just know you'll never be able to go back to eating Doritos again.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I went to UWM in the late 90s. Then I was a meat eater but this place was perfect because I didn't eat beef or pork and they provide so many alternatives. This is not a vegan restaurant but I found a few items on the menu that will satisfy any vegan!I love their Walnut Burger!

Every time we have ordered carry out, they have gotten the order wrong---about 5 times since they've opened. It's not the same quality as the Beans & Barley on the east side. Terrible.

Truly awful lunch. My wife and I each ordered one of the daily "specials." They were both terrible. Mine was supposed to be "Greek Lemon Chicken." It was dry and over-cooked, and there was nothing "Greek" or "lemon" about it, not even a hint of lemon or any kind of seasoning, not even salt or pepper. None. The brown rice was mushy and clumped up, the vegetables were burned almost beyond recognition, and the roll on the side was so stale it was nearly impossible to tear in half with my bare hands. I'm guessing it was left over from last week. My wife's entrée was supposed to be chicken stir-fry with a Thai coconut curry sauce. Here's where it gets really weird. They mixed flavorless sauce into the overcooked and clumpy brown rice, but no sauce or seasoning on the chicken and vegetables that were stir-fried and placed on top of the rice concoction. So again we return to the theme of chicken and vegetables with almost NO flavor. For what it's worth, I think the ingredients were relatively fresh and of decent quality, but the preparation was a train wreck. Is anyone in the kitchen actually tasting this stuff? I was only looking for a simple, quick lunch. This was really disappointing.
