Bay View Packing

The company stood behind their product and fully refunded me. Sometimes things don't go right but these guys came through. I went and bought other pickled herring from other companies and could not find a product as good as Bayviews. They don't sell direct anymore do I'll have to buy from Walmart online for $10 more for 2 jars but IMHO it'll be worth it for a superior product. Bottom line is UPS is the one who screwed stuff up...it was Superbowl time and a lot of food was getting shipped and they screwed up my delivery...then it finally arrived like 12 days later....I put the herring in refrigerator and opened it 4 days later. When I tasted it , I knew it had gone bad during shipping...tasted spoiled so there was no way I was going to risk food poisoning and threw it out. I look forward to Walmart online carrying their pickled herring in October or so....I'm going to buy 4 jars!

I can't say for certain but in my mind, in 2012, a company that sells pickled everything could only exist in Milwaukee. I used to tend bar at a place that sold their pickled eggs, polish sausage, turkey gizzards and ham hocks. The smell of the brine will stick with me until the day I die. People loved them, people hated them, people ate them as dares and I sold more than a couple as punishment for a lost wager. As for me, I'll never touch another one of their products. Nothing against any of them, but eventually you're gonna hear Martha My Dear so many damn times that you'll never listen to the Beatles again, right? It's just like that. Or something. I've had enough brine coursing through my veins to last a lifetime. If you get the chance, try every single of their products possible. You haven't lived until you've had a pickled ham and eggs. Or maybe you have. Do it anyway.

I'm a Bread & Butter pickle fan. Usually buy them at speciality stores because they taste so much better. However, I pay dearly for that quality. At Bay View Packing I can get large jar for same price as I usually pay for small and they are just as delicious. I also tried their mushrooms and a few other items. All were good but not something I eat as regularly. The place is deceiving. I didn't realize they were open to public because it looks more like a warehouse. Their "shop" is just a small area inside their plant.
