Basset Street is always sooooo good and will always be sooooo good. In terms of breakfast places (not just in madison) this is the mountain top. Where you look down and over at other places.Service: 10/10Food: 11/10I could continue ad nauseam about how great this place is but I won't. Just make sure you get here early or are prepared to wait because this place is incredibly popular.

My server was very kind and helpful, no shade to her whatsoever! It was a busy Sunday afternoon & the inside was full so I decided to sit on the patio. The chorizo chili was excellent. No spice but good flavor. I'd love to think the fries and the burrito were delicious but...The fries came out cold. Which is a huge bummer. And I'm not one to send food back. The burrito and chili came and while they looked delicious I had no silverware to eat with (aside from the steak knife).I had asked a random server walking by and she said she'd "be right back" but never came back. So when my sweet server came to ask "how's everything?" I asked for silverware again. She brought it out promptly but by then (maybe 5-10 min?) by burrito was cold also.

Came here the other day for brunch, left satisfied with no complaints. We were seated right away, however, it was very busy. The outdoor seating is very nice and there was construction going on but honestly it didn't really bother us. I got a latte, which was actually very good. I got the american style breakfast which was scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, and potatoes. Everything was great so simple but exactly what I wanted, except the potatoes weren't great. They were too large and soft (not crispy). We also got the eggs Benedict; which was good however the same issue with the side of potatoes and the egg in one of them wasn't runny. We also really wanted to try the pancakes or french toast. The service was also very friendly and pretty normal speed. Would recommend and would return.

Super cool vibes!Let me tell you, the minute I see a restaurant attached to a chain hotel-- I assume it is not worth my time or money. But I was so, so wrong about Bassett Street Brunch Club.OH MY GOODNESS-- I love me a boozy brunch. And BSBC boasts a few happy hours, including: $5 mimosas Monday - Friday (8-9AM) and a Monday - Friday (4-6PM) with lots of drink and appetizer specials. This particular trip I had the Bourbon Buzz -- it did not disappoint. The espresso-infused bourbon with the coffee liqueur was sublime. We stopped in for a light lunch after perusing the Botanical Garden. My daughter and I shared a Caesar salad and tomato bisque soup. Both were great but holy salad! That was a big bowl. A lot of bang per buck there. Others in my group enjoyed the donuts, chicken n donut and their cocktails. Clean plate club all around! Our waitress was quick and knowledgable. The menu seemed to have something for everyone, and was creative. The best part: we were just steps from the lobby of our hotel! (Hampton Inn Suites, Dtwn- Madison).Stop in for an adult beverage and snag a donut at Bassett Street Brunch Club.

Delicious brunch spot with a really fun menu!! Ordered a drink at the bar while we waited- they don't take reservations so expect a wait on the weekend. Parking is also limited around the restaurant, but complimentary valet is available next door at the Hampton Inn (wish I had known that before driving around for 20 minutes to find an available meter)!!The brunch menu is DIVERSE (and is available ALL day and night). Tons of options, ranging from savory to sweet choices. For breakfast I ordered the maple bacon donut (made in house, flavors rotated each month) and the "Bassett Street Eggs" (toasted tomato focaccia bread stuffed with mushrooms and sausage, with sunny side up eggs and Hollandaise) with breakfast potatoes. VERY filling breakfast (multiple pieces of bread), but really enjoyed what I could eat of it!! Thought the sandwich was a little soggy/soft, and felt it could've used a little crunch to enhance the texture of the dish.LOVED the pour for my glass of Prosecco (each one I ordered was filled to the very top)! The Bloody Mary and various other drinks looked delectable being served to those around me! I would return here to try several other items on the menu.

Date of visit: August 31, 2024My cousin is a local and recommended this place. It was on our way out of town so that was a nice bonus. He got there early and scored a table without a wait which is apparently unusual. I loved the creative names on the menu and appreciated all of the items to choose from. I went with the matcha latte as I figured this was the kind of place that would have a good one. I was wrong, it was quite terrible. However, our server, Addy, was wonderful and a big reason why I am going three stars here.My food was very good, the Coconut French Toast is fantastic! But my husband was very disappointed with his Big Bang; the pancakes were very dry and syrup did little to resuscitate them and his eggs were also overcooked, though the potatoes and bacon were both decent. We also got three donuts to go; one for us and two for friends back in Milwaukee. I only had one bite and can definitely say that it was the worst donut I have ever had in my life. I cannot believe they charge $2 for these, I suspect homeless people would turn them down. Thankfully our friends said the Oreo one was good, but the maple bacon was another bust.

Love Bassett for a casual breakfast or brunch when downtown! Highly recommend getting a donut with your breakfast! The farmers hash and lemon ricotta pancakes are my favorite. Service is always fast, even when they are very busy. On game days or weekends there usually is a line when they open, so arrive 10ish minutes early if you can. Otherwise, usually not too busy.

I've never written a review before, and I'll never write one again. This was the greatest food I've ever had. Im sad because I love breakfast food. And I'll never have food like this again. I think I'll move to Madison just so I can come here again.

There is so much beauty in this world. you can visit the peaks of Everest, the valleys of the Grand Canyon, and you can have the Bassett Street Eggs at the Bassett Street Brunch Club. I don't know if I'm just easy to please but this straight up was the best food I've ever had in my life.
