Bakery On State

These are some GOOD donuts. There's even some gluten free cookies for those folks who can't do the traditional bakery items. We came here with a squad (little cousins, four adults) and the Bakery on State folks were kind enough to let us hang out at the counter and eat at the little counter (well, I think we were loitering but they were nice about it). We tried the croissants, jelly donuts, GF cookies, lemon bars, poppyseed donuts, and some other treats and they all had our stamp of approval.The guy working the counter was super chill too--we were going to take a trip to the Rahr West to check out an exhibit and said we were coming back for dinner rolls. He put some on lay-away for us so we wouldn't have to lug them around (we had walked from the farmer's market). Keep up the good work, Bakery on State! My only feedback is that y'all need to get the beverage fridge back up and running so you can sell some bevvies for us choking back all these baked goods.

Omg GOOD!!I COULDN'T BELIEVE how light and wonderful everything was. Got dinner rolls, Persian, cronut and kneecaps. I will drive 1 hr to return!!! Excellent.

Cute little bakery with very tasty donuts and danishes. The bread is yummy! Rye bread with plenty of seeds and flavor. The Vienna bread has a hard crust but so soft on the inside. Super friendly staff with decent prices. I'll be back for sure!

Beth is terrific! The donuts are my favorite in Manitowoc, especially the cronuts. We ordered our wedding cake there, and everything went easily and smoothly. She is very accommodating with special orders.

Found this bakery coming out of orthopedics and assoc. with my brother driving. He mentioned he'd stop here as a teenager (70's) after work every evening. They have delicious bread and pastries. The reason for 4* is the prices for individual pastries; they can be over $2.00 - $2.50 a piece and I find that to be a bit high. Doesn't stop me though, just can't buy a dozen at a time!

The donuts are wonderfully fresh and the service quick and care the ambiance is clean and smells so good! But, not as good as the donuts are hands down the best bakery in Manitowoc county. Keep up the good work it's showing.

An absolutely awesome bakery. Very small town and they distribute to all of the restaurants nearby. We had some banana bread and a few pastries that were all made fresh this morning.The staff is super friendly and helpful, pointing us towards good local sandwich shop since we are traveling from out of town.If you're passing through, take five minutes to stop and grab a loaf of fresh made bread or a delicious pastry. It's absolutely worth it!

Wonderful, friendly owner. The food is amazing and he let us use his restroom even thought it wasn't a public restroom. The owner spent time talking to us, giving us recommendations and we could spend hours just hangout there.

I went on a Saturday morning, the donut selection was great. Love the simple glaze that was crunchy outside and soft middle. I would say this is a better bakery than the other alternative in town. Just wish they were open on Sundays too.

Best buttercream long john I have ever tasted. Best donuts in ManitowocI used to think Uncle Mikes bakery in Green Bay had the best donuts in the state, but Bakery on State is not far behind.
