A few weekends ago, I tried At Random! It's such a unique concept with ice cream drinks, old-school vibes, and cozy heated outdoor private dining. I ordered a Pink Squirrel, an ice cream drink made with crème de noyaux, crème de cacao, and heavy cream. I learned that it was actually invented in Milwaukee in 1941! My visitors from out of town also enjoyed their drinks, though they found them super filling--I thought mine was just right and loved the cookie on top.We visited at 3 PM on a Sunday, and it was completely empty, which made for a relaxed experience. I have tried to go multiple times on busier weekends in the past but did not stay due to the long wait. The only thing I wish I had known beforehand was the extra charge for the igloo seating (not their fault though). It would be helpful to have a heads-up about that since the cost can add up quickly. Our igloo was also missing a server call button, but luckily, our server was attentive, and we didn't end up needing it.Overall, it was a great experience, and I can't wait to go back and check out the indoor seating next time!

At Random is such a unique experience! It feels like you're in a different time period once you step inside. Super retro. The lighting is extremely low, and there is a red hue throughout. The walls, booth set up, and overall decor remind me of my grandma's house, and I don't even mean that as a bad thing. If you're coming here, it's for a specific experience. You're not grabbing a G&T or a beer. On their extensive drink menu you'll find quirky and unique cocktails, boozy sundaes, and their legendary ice cream drinks. Think Brandy Alexanders and tiki-inspired options. I went for the pink lady, which is a pink gin cocktail served up in a pretty martini glass. Really enjoyed it. Not too sweet. My girlfriend went for some kind of blue pineapple cocktail. Though not my thing, I tried a sip and it was good! No pics to share because they kindly ask for no flash photography (which is certainly required to get a solid photo).Overall a fun time to check this place out! Oh and hot tip: either make a rez or plan to wait awhile to be seated. It's a hot-spot.

Had a great time- popped in "randomly" the other night and was delighted by the atmosphere and large menu! We ordered a round of cocktails followed by NA ice cream drinks. Loved the fun surprise of the survivor pins in the old cigarette dispenser.

My wife and I stopped into At Random for off-the-cuff drinks on a Saturday night. After trying to enter from two wrong doors, we finally walked to the back, past the fake waterfall (Designed for cheap wedding photos? I don't get it. It's tacky!) Halted by the imposing sign telling us to "WAIT TO BE SEATED," a woman emerged from the rear and told us we could sit anywhere at the bar. Okay, and we did. Nate took great care of us, and his knowledge of mixology was edifying. He is the quintessential cocktail bartender. Our four different cocktails were wonderful, and we left At Random quite happy.I have been utilizing At Random for decades. The lounge served a different purpose in the 1980s and 1990s when I was single, helping me decide if my date had long-term possibilities. Now that I'm an elder statesman, I enjoy At Random just as much, but in a different way. The fifties decor and sultry look are fantastic, and At Random has become an iconic part of Milwaukee lore. It doesn't need that waterfall. Yikes.

Favorite cocktail bar in Milwaukee! We sat outside this time but the inside also is a great place to sit. Outside is more casual with picnic tables, a fire pit and tents. There is a service window to order and they'll call out when your drinks are done. We got the spicy Paloma which was not too sweet and the spicy was great. Very refreshing. We also got more of a fruit punch drink and one that resembled a transfusion. Really can't go wrong with the mixed drinks. Another fun feature is the ice cream shakes. This one is grasshopper inspired and we added whisky. Very good and creamy. In the winter we'll sit inside which has a darker, retro feel which is very fun. There is a lovers punch we've tried before. It was very sweet and had a lot of rum but the experience of ordering it is definitely worth trying.

This place is a whole experience I would recommend to everyone. It's the oldest cocktail lounge in Milwaukee. The service was great. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the bartenders and were just memorized by them making it. If you've never been there's no menu. The mixologists ask what you like and make you a drink. One of the drinks I had was called Madeline's Bubbles and had champagne and hibiscus. The other drink was like a POG juice and was fabulous. The mixologists were super nice. What I like about this place and you can dress casual or dress up it just depends on what you want.

One of the best places in Bayview. They serve drinks only no food. Some of their drinks come with ice cream which is good. You can sit inside or outside and their patio is beautiful. Right now for the winter they have huts you can sit inside and drink. The huts are only $10 per person and will be added to your final bill. The service is nice the staff are very knowledgeable about the drinks. They also mocktails and vegan drinks,

At Random is a charming bar known for its cozy atmosphere and unique cocktails. The dim lighting and eclectic decor makes this a fun atmosphere. Their signature ice cream drinks are a standout, offering a delicious and indulgent treat. Overall, At Random is a perfect spot for a relaxed evening with friends or a romantic date night.

I don't know how or why it has taken me so long to get to At Random. Everything about this spot is so my jam (fun mixology paired with a historical locale--amazing!).I recently reserved one of their heated huts for an evening in their 'magic forest' (hot drinks and seasonal cocktails among twinkle lights and holiday music? Yes, please). We arrived at our appointed time, went inside where the server then showed us to our hut. The heater was already pumping so while a little chilly, it didn't last long. I will mention for the cold-blooded among you--they don't get by any means warm. I kept my coat on for the 90 minutes were were there. I saw other folks who brought blankets, which I would totally do (both for warmth and the total coziness factor). There's both a button for ringing into the bar for service or you can simply order via QR code. We ordered Manhattans served in their cute commemorative santa mugs. The Manhattans were luxardo cherry garnished and well rendered. And, the mugs were adorable! It truly was magical with twinkle lights twinkling as we enjoyed some card games and cocktails in our hut I also was able to see inside At Random after and can't wait to go back. It's completely mid-cenury amazing. It's truly like stepping back in time. An absolutely amazing first experience here with the hope of many more to come.Get to it!

This place is so COOL. I felt like I was in a movie the entire time I was here. The low red lights give this place a real speakeasy vibe and add to the mystery and intrigue. The lounge area gives you a blast from the past with vintage decor and seating but the service and drink offerings are extremely fresh! The milkshakes here are delicious and I love that most of them can be made vegan or non alcoholic. I am not a big drinker but I decided to try one of the alcoholic milkshakes that had amaretto and strawberries, and I was not disappointed! I hate being able to taste alcohol in things but Amaretto is already so mild that it paired extremely well with the other flavors.A quick warning- if you don't like the taste of whiskey don't get a milkshake that has it because it can't squash it down all the way. I tried my husband's and his had a whiskey base and I could tell VERY quickly.Everything is made to order and you can tell the bartenders are doing a lot to get it right so come, be patient, and enjoy the ambiance.
