Apollo Café

I recently stopped by here after a study session at Rochambo for a quick bite, and it was exactly what I needed. It had been a few summers since my last visit, but it's just as good as I remember. In the summer, I love their frozen mint lemonade--such a treat. This time, I went with the classic gyro plate, and it did not disappoint. The fries were perfectly crispy, the gyro was super flavorful, and it even came with our own bottle of tzatziki--life changing! The food came out quickly too!The atmosphere is fast-casual, making it perfect for a quick bite. Just a heads-up: they prefer cash but do accept cards as well!

Superrr good. I literally got released from the hospital yesterday and have been feeling nauseous every time I eat and this food was incredibly comforting and surprisingly didn't feel heavy on the stomach at all. It is a very good portion for the price. The fries were very well done, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The chicken was amazing and not overcooked, very moist and flavorful. Also the gyro was not dry at all, it was fluffy and well made. Service was very friendly upon entering the place and had the food done in an efficient manner. We also sat in a booth and honestly I would have a first date here because of the entire nonchalant but homely environment (there are some funny characters that come in)

Apollo Cafe is a sudden change of pace from the fast and loud bars on Brady. The high high blue and wispy ceiling may make you think you're on an adventure, at least for a moment. The menu is has many appetizers and sides. In addition to the Greek food they have more American options. On Fridays they have a baked and fried fish fry. The "sandwiches/plates" and just different entrees. The plates come with rice pilaf and cost $4 more. You can upgrade the rice to a salad for $2. We got a chicken souvlaki one sandwich and one plate. It didn't really seem worth getting the plate. The service was good, quick. They gave a squeeze tube of tzatziki sauce. Was good for price but hard to distinguish from other gyro places.

A hidden gem that quietly holds its own in the heart of the Brady street restaurant district . Three generations of the same family behind the counter serve up the best gyros in the state. No contest. Served with authentic salads, perfect French fries, Greek olives, salty cheese, and peppers. If you can finish one of the massive servings there are also homemade desserts straight from Grandma's kitchen. Pleasant outdoor seating in the summer that doesn't put you on a crowded sidewalk or in a parking lane. Lots of parking in the back. Fast friendly service. An obviously regular clientele that apparently considers this place home. What are you waiting for?This is a milwaukee tradition that should be on everyone's bucket list!

I take everyone I know to Apollo Cafe if they come to visit me in Milwaukee! Food is amazing and service is awesome too! I always get the Chicken Souvlaki and take my food to eat outside on the cafes patio. Overall, highly recommend!!!

I return for the grape leaves I asking them to cooked them longer sad to see staff put them microwave right next to the counter I want be going out anytime soon

Great experience here in this simple order at the counter eatery! I've never been a gyros fan but love things like moussaka, pastitsio and dolmades.Had the moussaka and it was excellent, with a side of potatoes or rice included along with a touch of feta and olive. It's a nice sunny room with a few tables outside. What's not to like?

Cute little place we found after checking in for the night. All of our food was really good and very fresh. Most everything is Ala Carte and they prefer you pay in cash but do accept cards. Spanikopita was a little dry but still good, gyros were yummy!

Everything about this place is 5 stars! The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly and welcoming! Cant recommend this place enough for some amazing Greek food!

Excellent! This is very good food in s very clean place! The Mediterranean said with chicken had lots of tender grilled chicken and a very tasty dressing. The gyros are savory and in generous portions. The bathrooms are literally smelling super clean of Spic-n-Soan and there is a clean outdoor seating area plus a little garden with pergola. Very very nice!
