A lovely little bakery that's perfect for a cup of coffee and a pastry! My family and I were there on 5/11/24 in the morning, and we had a great breakfast. The people behind the counter are hard-working and friendly, and happy to go through what's on the shelves. My brother loved his hot cocoa with their homemade marshmallow fluff! They also sell lotions, soap, and candles from the business/charity next door, Franciscan Peacemakers (closed on weekends). Only comment I can make is it would be nice if the pastries were labeled as well as show the price, but this isn't stopping me from coming back! The prices are reasonable. Accessibility: It isn't wheelchair accessible (a couple steps to get into the bakery), though it is spacious when you get in. For those who are hearing impaired, I didn't have a problem. Parking: free on-street

Charming little gem with good Anodyne coffee and scrumptious bakery. Just one thing I wish they would fix - please post bakery item prices. Otherwise, every single treat was absolutely delicious. I was seriously wowed. The owner (? I think) named everything I pointed to before giving them to me, but I don't remember all the names. I have to go by what they look like. (Please post bakery item names along with the price!) (Oh and sorry for the bad picture - he looks mad in the picture, but he was actually just really nice and smiling most of the time. I didn't realize until way later that he looks mad in the picture lol)The big puffy cinnamon sugary puff - totally the best thing I had here. Super soft inside and kinda crusty outside, perfectly sweet but not too much. The little mini chocolate croissant lookalike but denser looking things - good, but not necessarily what I'd come back here for. Blueberry scone textured rectangular thing - not airy, but dense, packed with flavor, very filling and delicious.

Super cute on the inside with more seating that I imagined! Went at 10am on a Saturday and they still had plenty of baked goods. I love Kouign Ammans and get them every place that sells them. These were small but on point. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Flavor was great. Also tried a lemon blueberry scone. Could tell they were very homemade and moist too! Flavor wasn't as I expected but pretty good. Will definitely come back to try their cinnamon pull apart and their pecan roll! They have tables outside with a small garden and it was very relaxing.

What to say that would even do justice to this Milwaukee hidden gem!? Located on a forgotten little stretch of Lisbon, it is easy to pass by unnoticed - don't make that mistake! If you want to feel like you are in a welcoming little café in France, enjoying mouth-watering specialties, you need to check out Amaranth. You can taste the difference in every morsel, clearly made with love. Every soup, salad, and sandwich is sure to be the best you've ever had! I personally LOVE the savory gallettes (not sure I spelled that right). I like that they are more dense (more bread like than flakey) and just right in every way. And don't forget about the dessert- oh my God so good. Who needs a trip to France when you have this adorable place with fantastic food right in your own backyard.

Such a gem with a cozy charming atmosphere and a lovely assortment of baked goods! Came on a Friday morning, there were plenty of people coming and going but it was never hectic or noisy like some cafes can be. There are a good amount of seats and tables available inside and it seems like the perfect spot to enjoy a book and some coffee. We did not get to stay though, we picked up pastries to go which was efficient as we were able to park on the street right in front. Service was fast and friendly. I thought they would have limited selections but they had plenty of varieties of cookies, scones, fruit tarts, croissants, rolls, etc. Tried several of them and everything was really good. Would highly recommend the pear almond tart. Everything on display looked delicious though and I will definitely be back to try more!
